Great interview! Sounds like a great book, although honestly I don't read much tho, lol. But luckily I already don't eat meat.

peacerebelgirl mentions the documentary Earthlings. It's a great documentary in how it shows how horribly we treat animals, but I wish it had also had more stuff like what was talked about in this interview, to get those who brush off animals as not being important or sensitive beings or whatnot to maybe turn around and see them as equals, or at least in the ballpark.

thanks jonathan for caring and writing about animals. a few things. at one point you say that we do to animals what we wouldn't do to our fellow human beings, but we do some pretty awful and torturous things to each other. I agree though, after watching the film 'Earthlings' that the things being done to animals is straight out cruel and despicable. From what i understand leather is a BIG industry, not simply a by-product of the meat from animals. Go Veg!

@peacerebelgirl Go vegan. Vegetarianism perpetuates the idea that animals can be used for our purposes by drinking milk/eating eggs.
