  • Isn't that an RIC man walking by the parked tram at the very end?

  • Imagine this scene suddenly unfolding before you ! Fascinating and such good clear quality.

  • It may look quaint and all that to look at this now, but life was bloody hard back then. Most of us these days wouldn't last five minutes.

  • I'm black and I am really afraid of going back to more than 80 years into the past. Hell, I'm free and happy now, and zip, back to picking cottons and getting whipped :-(

  • @Microglia1

The UK abolished slavery in 1830s. However, many black were still looked down upon, ironically much of east london is now black lol

  • @Microglia1 Your not black your an ugly white troll! fuck you white piece of shit LOL

  • busfare these days is like more then anyone in this vid had earned in a month, they would be the homeless if alive today

  • If you stop the video at the 12 second mark, you can see the guy on the sidewalk is giving history the finger. :) !

  • @cracks21229 I reckon he's picking his nose. Did they have the 'bird' in those days?

  • @telecaster1000 talking on a mobile i think , i like the guy at the end wearing the clothes that dont fit. can tell hes a deep thinker , hes like wtf is that i dont need an xray, and the 80s bin-man from the future is like no silly its called a camera , relax mate it wont hurt you

  • How does one horse pull all of that?

  • gatheringleaves

You can do better than that for worthless barbarians.

Man's inhumanity to man and animals over in just the past two hundred years tops the vikings by far for barbaric deeds.

Also check out the "Extermination of the Buffalo on the Great Plains" on youtube as just one example. The Vikings don't even register.

  • Fantastic!! But look how pig sick the horses are... drudgery or what!

  • Wonder what this footage would look like in colour? Thanks for the time travel.

  • @Vikingdescendent

    The Vikings were worthless barbarians

  • Two blokes are fighting fist-a-cuffs in the background; why o why won't anybody stop them?

  • 34 seconds in a tram advertising CD's. more time travelers lol

  • i would love to travel back in time to when that was being filmed and hold a banner in front of the camera with RENTAGHOST76 IS A DICK on it.

  • back in the days, where you can walk in the streets at night, without getting shot, so sad what gangs have done to beautiful cities!!!

  • Its really strange seeing belfast 108 years ago

All these new hotels and high rise buildings are wrecking the place

  • damn! everyone is dead on this film.

  • you figured that one out all by your self?

  • About a minute into the clip, watch for the young lady on her cell phone...

  • @tomba1937 Dude you're right. Now this with Chaplin's Time Traveler.... They're everywhere.

  • @tomba1937 She is holding an umberella on her shoulder!

  • Look how beautiful Belfast was before the Fenian terrorists destroyed it...sad.

  • Excuse me, but the use of that word 'Fenian' is not appropriate and one could find it offensive. This is a beautiful video showing how Belfast used to be, not a forum to discus where the responsibility lies to how it became how it is today.

  • @Rentaghost76 remember everyone was irish back in them days there was no such thing as 'northern ireland'

  • @marklfc07 Everyone was also British back then too. No such thing as "the Republic" and "Northern Ireland". ;)

    fascinating video.

  • @16dan90 I think you will find that everyone was Irish ie living in a united Ireland. You choose whether you wish to identify yourself as British and in 1908 the huge majority of Irish people did not identify themselves as Britishl

  • Such a beautiful city. Those ******** destroyed our country.

  • @scollinsireland There's always one to bring that crap into it.

Just enjoy the film and leave that shit out of it!!

  • beautiful!!! i love those times!!!

  • Great piece of film.

  • cool

  • Grand

  • Lovely film and the camera-work is surprisingly good

  • truly fascinating

  • Edgar Bronfman jr is looking to see if he can get a virtual version of those wheeled signs to put on youtube!!!...

  • great video - thanks for the share!

  • ...but you'd have to pay to see them.

  • Dust in the wind.

  • Back in the day when Belfast was a city instead of the dump it is today.

  • Awful voice over, what a poor speaker.

  • not BBC I agree, but I enjoy the natural quality of this lady's voice, which conveys a "home movie" feel to this extract

maybe a Belfast voice would heve been better

  • Whoever looked after the track did a good job. I suppose Horse-drawn vehicles were not as heavy?

  • I actually think the voiceovers give good insight personally!

  • It makes me want to climb through the screen and into the past! If only ...

  • @Sibelius92 So do I ;-) , i'm french ..i do love that old films , I wonder how people feel loocking at those films , it had to be very strange and so funny .. today nothing astonish us , it's so sad ...

  • @Sibelius92 did you see the little dog running , at the top of the film at 2:00 ?? :-)))

  • @Sibelius92

Careful, It'll ruin the colour in your clothes :(

  • Turn the sound off then!

  • I think the woman doing the voiceover sounds very natural and the music is spot on.

  • I have all the mitchell kenyon work on dvd - the tram scenes are just the most fascinating.
