  • Mix up "well," not mix up "good." "Well" is an adverb, modifying the verb "mix." "Good" is an adjective, which modifies a noun. Example: "This comment is good, because it helps to preserve the English language. It was written well." "Good" modifies "comment" and "well" modifies "written." This is fourth grade.

  • Use distilled water.

    It's "did," not "done.'

It's "as I said' not "like I said,'

Southern grammar has a bad reputation for a reason, it appears.

  • @twinstar9 EVERYONE!!!! Heres the grammar patrol on duty..

(nothing better than to have a smart ass point out peoples flaws)

Who cares how she speaks.. You should be concerned with your person not anyone else. /sigh

  • @loonabella The English language must be preserved if society is to progress. Over 14,000 impressionable sets of ears have heard this atrocious mutilation of the language. It is important. You seem incapable of communicating without swearing, yet another regrettable deterioration in the ability of people to think and communicate with precision, clarity, and eloquence. Look up the seventh grade words. Read and learn.

  • @twinstar9 And further more, if you wish to speak the proper language of North America, then you should learn the true language of your territory from the tribe of Native Americans that once inhabited your back yard. I regret to say that your entire post was just a silly waste of your time and efforts. You can find more on this and more at your public library.

  • @twinstar9 haha Well looks like someone needs a history lesson. First of all, IF you want "proper" English I'd suggest you swim your ass back to England. As far as this "southern grammar" is concerned, it was one of the first true dialects spoken in settled America and was also a symbol of our break away from "mother England". In a mans language is to be found the true mirror of the man himself. This southern draw showed that we were NO longer English but were Americans.

venture out on my own. I'll do a video of my results once I've gotten some

  • Brilliant! I only have 3 Glimmer Mists & I like them very much. But they arent cheap in my opinion & with 2 small uses on paper 1/3 of the bottle is gone. So replacing wont be happening anytime soon. You by far have the best "dupe" on Glimmer Mist & I will be using your method from now on. Dont worry about editing its more natural to other carfters & helps connecting w/ your viewers. Wonderful video. Keep up the good work. Thumbs up!!!

  • @LoriHulstine Aww Lori thank you so much !! It does add to the whole process of the videos as well ! You might as well times you video by 3 by the time you edit , save to your computer and then upload to youtube ! I am so glad you let me know you like it much better ! Makes me feel good about it ! Thanks for letting me know !! You will love the homemade glimmer mist !

  • @LoriHulstine SORRY HAD TO DO TWO POST LOL ! And you have the option to make it darker by adding more paint or lighter by adding more water, if it is too dark ! Thank you so much ! I love feed back from you all ! It really helps me in knowing what everyone likes and dont like !! TFW ! HUGS, JANIE

  • So I finally remembered to get the little spray bottles at Michael's today. I kept forgetting to grab some. I ended up making four colors, and I LOVE them. LOVE.... I think I even like them better then the Glimmer Mist that I have. I wonder if I can buy those little spray bottles in bulk? Have a GREAT weekend Janie!

    Ruthie :)

  • Yay I am glad you got some bottles and that you made your own glimmer mist !! Cool I am glad you like it better !! I still havent gotten any of the real glimmer mist ! I wondered how it would compare !! Thanks for sharring !! Check out ebay you might can find them there ! Hope you have a wonderful weekend too !! GREAT BIG HUGS, JANIE

  • Oh and love your ATG btw. Cute cute cute. What color was it to start? Mine is red, wondering if it would cover with the glimmer mist???

  • Hi again Candi thanks so much ! Mine was red also with a clear front . I dont know how good of coverage you will get with the glimmer mist I used just the cheap acrylic paint that had shimmer to already you can get it at Mike's , Hobby Lobby and Walmart . I heat dryed it and used about four thin coats of the paint heating after each one ! The paint is no more than $1.15 when it is not on sale . I got mine at Mikes on sale for $0.89. Hope that helps !

    GREAT BIG HUGS, JANIE

  • @TypicalScrapbooker

Gotcha, I thought you were using the spray. Might have to try that on my atg to spruce it up a bit. Can't wait to see what else you add to it. :) have a great day.

    candi

  • Thanks sweetie and you as well ! I havent figured out what else I am going to do with it just yet ! I just dont know but it will come to me sooner or later lol ! GREAT BIG HUGS, JANIE

  • Great idea!! I'm wondering if you could just use a white shimmer type pearl x for all of the colors instead of having to have a similar color for each paint??? Hmmm, might have to try that. Thanks so much. Also, I've heard check your local dollar stores, they might have sprayers too but it's only .25 cheaper than Michael's. If your M's doesn't carry them might be worth checking. Thanks for the tutorial and what a great camera girl.

    Candi

  • Hi Candi ! Thanks so much for stopping by and posting ! Yes I am sure you could just use the white if you wanted ! I just like to use the others too beccause they had gold , silver and other shimmers in them too ! Yes I am sure you probably get them at the Dollar Stores or even Walmart ! I dont know how good they will spray these that I got from Mike's have a wonderful mist to them ! GREAT BIG HUGS , JANIE

  • @TypicalScrapbooker

Cool, think I"m going to try the white (cuz that's what i have. :) I think I've heard the spray is good from the Dollar Store but it's not that much more from Mikes so if they have a great spray I'd get them there!!

  • Thank you so much for sharing this!! The color looked really nice. I love money saving ideas! This tutorial was great. Your daughter is a cutie. :)

    -Nicole

  • Thanks so much Nicole ! I am so happy you can use this idea ! I like to try and do things with what I have ! GREAT BIG HUGS, JANIE

  • Are you guys from Bristol? LOL

Also, how did you paint the ATG gun so that it looked smooth? Any specific tips?

  • Hi Kris ! Bristol ? lol I know I should be a blonde ! I just used acryclic paint that I used in my glimmer mist , heat set it with my heat gun , I did about four thin layers and made sure they were completly dry between each one! You are the only one so far that likes it thanks ! It actually had one side clear so that shows how well it covered ! I even painted the handle and no paint has came off so far ! GREAT BIG HUGS , JANIE

  • Amazing tutorial, great great idea. thank you for sharing with us.

Oh Camera Girl ... amazing job.

  • Aww thanks for all the sweet comments !

  • im looking for series 3 pearlex too!! i hope michaels start carrying them!

quick question: how are the mist bottles? do they mist good? i use mini misters are they dont last long :/

    TFS!

  • Hi there thanks for posting ! The bottles mist great ! I have the mini ones too but I find I cant even do half a project before I have to refill ! I found the stampendous ones at Micheals ! They were $1.25 each and at my Mike's they were on the paint isle ! I think they are work the investment ! Compared to $4.95 for 3 of the mini's ! Hope that helps ! HUGS, Janie

  • Sooooooooo great!!!! Thanks for sharing how to make homemade glimmer mist!!! Loving your new videos!

  • What a great idea....I'm going to give these a try....i've heard that you get more glimmer using the Pearl x - making your own glimmer mist vs. the Tattered Angels glimmer mist...I'm going to try and see the difference....thanks so much for sharing.

  • Your welcome ! Glad to share ! Also I was thinking if you wanted the color a little darker then go to the next darkest color ! Like on the espresso I think I will use a few drop of black paint to darken it a little !

    Thanks for watching !! HUGS,Janie
