This is a memorial not just to a supposedly great man, but to the greater principles for which he supposedly stood. Thomas Jefferson advocated speaking out against government and even all out militant rebellion when a government loses all respect for the people it is intended to protect. Dancing as a form of protest is quite silly, but much preferable to burning flags and turning over police cars.
If these demonstrators light torches, attack bystanders, brandish weapons, or demonstrate violent acts in any way, detain every one of them immediately, they are a threat.
If a police officer body slams a man dancing at a public memorial to a president who endorsed democracy, freedom of speech, and rebellion against laws which do not serve to protect citizens, that officer should at least be fired, and at most be tried for assault. No officer has to attack peaceful citizens, no officer should.

This is a memorial not just to a supposedly great man, but to the greater principles for which he supposedly stood. Thomas Jefferson advocated speaking out against government and even all out militant rebellion when a government loses all respect for the people it is intended to protect. Dancing as a form of protest is quite silly, but much preferable to burning flags and turning over police cars.

If a police officer body slams a man dancing at a public memorial to a president who endorsed democracy, freedom of speech, and rebellion against laws which do not serve to protect citizens, that officer should at least be fired, and at most be tried for assault. No officer has to attack peaceful citizens, no officer should.

This is not what freedom looks like, this is what stupidity looks like. You can tell by the individuals that they are intoxicated with drugs, and ignorant with no regard for the sanctity of the Memorial or other people who are trying to enjoy the experience. These people should be treated severely by the court system and incarcerated for long periods of time.
