I've seen three different versions of the line "Time to die" .. one when he doesnt deliver the line one when it cuts away to Deckard as he says it and one when Roy is seen saying the line. I prefer the version when Roy delivers the line.

I loved the final cut, but this version has a special spot in my heart. I was 13 the first time I saw it, and some of the subtle parts were a little over my head. I remember being sad when Roy died, and then the voiceover brought the whole moment home like a baseball bat hitting my head...

The Final Cut or even Director's Cut is SOOOO much better than this. I know some people like the voice-over narration, well that's your opinion and I respect that, but I seriously can't stand it. It's bad to the point that it's just distracting and completely ruins these amazing emotional moments. I watched the Final Cut last night and it was beautiful, this voice-over in the theatrical version is really craptacular though.

I watched the original movie upon release..like Ford's delivery or not..it remains the definitive version to me..and I felt the prose wonderful enough to use at my father's funeral..and I know my Dad approved! This is one movie that grew bigger than its producers ideals and was better for it!!!.

I agree, his acting was perfect for the role IMO. It's just the narration that annoys me, it seems tacky. His dead-pan was great in the scenes where he was actually there interacting on set though.

I think the narration really helps the movie... it's just Ford's delivery on it is absolutely HORRIBLE bc he didnt want to do it. And I don't see why not. It really gives it the movie that private-eye feel that I think the director was going for. I really wish Ford just handled the narration better, and it would have worked fine.

the background narration is only good and reasonable für like 3 times. all other moments are just plain bad.

what i do like about this version is that racheal have waaay more screen time. the love story and the question if deckard is a replicant itself are worked out so much better in this verion than in directors cut or final cut.

so i like the final for its perfect look and its nearly flwlessnes. but the substance is better in the original version IMO.

The original version is the best because it displays the directors true vision at the films conception. It's funny how they feel the need to re-cut and re-make the old movies nowadays when films were much better back then. They knew what they were doing, don't fuck around with it.

That's just my opinion.

i Do admit the narration here, is probably some of the better narration in this cut, i personally prefer the Final Cut, much more atmosperic, it shows how one change could change the ENTIRE tone of a movie
