Bolt lost this race for the jamaicans. Took the baton badly, then changed it into his right hand, which messed up the 3rd changeover. I suppose he made up for it in the later years but still. Powell's a beast. He'll never be as fast as bolt but I hope he wins a major individual gold! :D

If Tyson Gay (USA) hadn't had this hamstring injury so close to the games, I would have said he'd take it in the 100m & 200m, because it seems to me the Americans always have the confidence going into these big events like the Olympics & World Championships. The Jamaicans seem to get rattled by them. I think it's up in the air.

As for the UK, we dont even have a sprinter that can run the 100m under 10 seconds, so I doubt we even have a chance of a medal.

I would switch Powell and Bolt, letting Bolt run Anchor as Bolt seems to have a much better maintaining phase/finishing kick than Powell. Powell's best part of his 100 is the start to 65 meters. In a relay with the running start that means Powells best part of the race is paritally nutrilized and he doesnt have that great kick like a Lewis, Bailey or Greene. Comparatively, Gay didn't hardly close on Bolt when they raced, like he historically has closed on Powell in the last 40 meters of races

Gay was strategiacally placed on the first leg to gain an advantage, with a weaker sprinter in hopes that the final leg would be able to hold the lead if we had one. It worked yet powell did do a fantastic job of pulling in the end. It would be hard to say if they both were on the same leg and received the baton, at the same time what the out come would have been.
