"Tamiko", is a "rare gem" of a movie, except for Laurance Harvey (his best performances, in my opinion, were "Butterfield 8", and "The Alamo". So, go to Netflix and start streaming... By the way does anyone know of a good Blog for "Fifty's".and "Sixtys" movie aficianado's.
@shilohpines I don't, but maybe someone who does will chime in...have you tried just doing a Google search?? Always works for me. Thank you for the info.
One of my fav's from the early '60's. I served in the U.S. Army in Japan from '63 to '65.... a really great time to be in Japan... the yen was 360 to the dollar. I have my own Tamiko memories but the girls of the film...Frances Nuyes, Miyoshi Umeki and Martha Hyer and the locations scenes was what it was all about. Great news if you are a member of Netflix you can see this as a streaming movie on your computor or video device a real treat.
@shilohpines Thank you for serving your country. The time you spent in Japan sounds beautiful. I keep thinking I need to watch this film again, and your comment just might do it...thank you for your comment.
Outstanding...magnificent. Reminds me of days in my youth in Japan chasing young ladies. If anyone has the vocal version of this song from the movie soundtrack, please post it.
The film and the music are a perfect match to Frances Nuyen and Lawrence Harvey's performances. Best thing I did was make a copy of them movie off of TBS on an VHS tape in the 80's. Haven't seen it played much ever since.
