Another fine hockey player that was taken from this world too soon. Even if he didn't put up the scoring numbers for the Vancouver Canucks in his last two NHL years, he certainly showed it with Team Slovakia in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. I am just as shocked by his death in that airplane crash as I am with the deaths of three enforcers this past summer, Rick Ryphen included. My condolences to everyone throughout the NHL and KHL who knew him. RIP Pavol.

Most of my life I wasn't into hockey. One year I decided to give it a chance, back in 2000. I watched game after game, until one night I got to see the Blues beat the Sharks and everything changed. I was so impressed with the way the team played, liked the players they had, Mac, Prongs, and the Cycling Slovaks. I've been a huge fan ever since. I didn't like seeing him leave Stl, but rooted for him just the same. RIP Pavol and thanks for being a big part of my becoming an NHL fan.
