Knives don't need to be reloaded. Machete's knives baseball bats crowbars. That is the main weapons you would find. Normal civilian handguns and shotguns, then police firearms. You probably wouldn't be able to find military weapons since they would send the military in to deal with the zombies. Any weapons from killed soldiers would be in heavily infested areas. Plus I'm pretty sure the Military would eventually get orders to cleanse areas of zombie food. Meaning, YOU.

DUDE! AA12, the P90, the Barret 50, all of those are SO IMPRACTICAL. How are you going to get the ammunition? How are you going to carry those weapons and their ammo long distances? You will get tired. Shotgun and 50 cal rifle rounds are HEAVY. And if you're going to hold up somewhere, how long will your ammo last with those wasteful shotguns and automatic weapons. All you really need is a small caliber semi auto rifle with a sturdy wooden stock. Following this criteria, the 10/22 would be ideal
