This baleganjur composition was written by I Putu Putrawan from Munduk. Is is teaching at Gamelan Sekar Jaya in California this year, 2007 with his wife, dancer Ida Ayu Ketut Suciawani. His father, famous musician and composer, I Made Terip, and 2 other talanted brothers are also performaing in performances in this conference. B. Best way is join ensemble. Canadian groups list on American Gamelan Institute website. Montreal grp Giri Kedatan, Eric Vandal, studied with composer, Puturawan.
Is a marching procession for burials even today. Earlier for battles. Syncopated interlocking rhythms shared and precision crucial: cymbals, knobbed pots, beatkeepers and tuned drums. Now yearly competitions and real showmanship.
