Like the Bible says (paraphrasing): One can know God exists, quite certainly, from the order and logic of creation. But it takes faith to actually know God and that He cares for you, that His intentions are absolute good.
Sentient beings in the physical world are aware of their mortality. They struggle for their very existence, even though they did not bring themselves into existence. It's a paradox that has little to do with whether God is good or not.
At you least you are starting to open up to the real reason why you reject scientific facts such as evolution--purely on the basis of your religious opinion: fundamentalist Christian Evangelical dogma.
The person you are referring to, while I still haven't figured out who that person is, it is certainly not me. If you insist on having that conversation, take it where it belongs.
No, not even close. I'm saying that it is my opinion that the biblical concept of God is one of panentheism. You said you've never heard anyone describe Christianity as panentheistic. Also, I would say it IS NOT the exception to the rule, rather most modern churches in western culture teach a very materialistic, philosophically limited dogma.
You said: "...panantheism, which is the biblical concept of God."
Since not all Christian sects are panantheistic, it is certainly reasonable for me to say that I don't consider all forms of Christianity to be panantheistic, but you still felt the need to insult me for that accurate observation.
Great show again Jeff. Quantum Occasionalism is one view of reality that has completely shaken the foundations of my original perspective. The first time I heard you talk about it, it was like it instantly rang true to me and made perfect sense.
The truly important point, however, is that there is no evidence for a panantheistic god--that's purely a matter of opinion and subjective feelings.

What "content/context" would indicate a supernatural being?

@circusOFprecision
Only if you define "god" to be nature.

@odinata
That is pantheism, which I don't really agree with. If anything, you could say I believe in panentheism, which is the biblical concept of God.

@circusOFprecision
Then your statement:
"One can know God exists, quite certainly, from the order and logic of creation."
is incorrect.

@odinata
Not true. I don't directly equate you with words in a text box, but I know you exist because of the content/context.

I've never heard anyone describe Christianity as necessarily "panantheistic".
It appears to be the exception rather than the rule.
What role have psychedelic drugs played in your concoction of religious opinions?
odinata 3 months ago
@odinata
Eastern Orthodox Christianity. But I guess you are again showing your theological ignorance. Drugs, seriously? Don't be silly.
circusOFprecision 3 months ago
@circusOFprecision
So you are saying that Eastern Orthodoxy is the only religion that has a "biblical concept of God".
