According to the historian Imtiaz Ahmad, the director of the Khuda Baksh Oriental Public Library in Patna, the name "Jodha" was used for Akbar's wife for the first time by Lieutenant-Colonel James Tod, in his book Annals and Antiquities of Rajasthan. Akbras wifes name as recorded in history was Mariam Zamani. And if the story goes, the Rajputs offered their daughter to appease the Mughals :). YOu loved giving your daughters to muslims and then cried foul afterwards.

They built a sophisticated society, and it soon became a major trading hub and amde Bengal a very rich and vibrant region. The backwater Hindus living along he Ganges were in AWE of the Mughal splendour and beauty. Bengali Muslims were very rich, pious, extremely educated and were the envy of heir poor, destitute and backward Hindu Counterparts.

Queen Elizabeth I used to send emissaries to Mughalistan and ask to be seated int he grand courtroom with the emperor. Akbar a philospher and a academic denied them because they were not capable of conversing intellectualy with him and were seen as a backward people.
