How to make your multimedia keyboard work with iTunes

Well, this is what I did to make things work on my G15(fist edition) with iTunes 10.5.2.11.

1. Open the "Logitech LCD manager"

2. Pick the "Programs" tab

3. Right click on "Logitech Media Display" and choose "Config".

4. Uncheck the last checkbox("Active background") next to iTunes 4,5+.

5. Click OK and WIN! :D

For windows 7 users, just in case, the iTunes plugins folder is in %appdata% and so on. Works great!

after you copy the dll into the iTunes plugins folder, if you are currently running iTunes, then close it and open it up again, then of course it'll work. ^^

nacho, thanks bro.. my buttons worked last night after i updated the g15 softwear.. im using itunes 8 and 3.06 g15 softwear. i wake up this morning and it was broken again. i placed the mmkeys dll file into the directoyr and it worked to make my buttons work while im on another screen. however i now longer see the media display on my screen like i used too.. got any ideas?

I got my shortcuts working but I thought I would be able to change my songs while im in another program just like I was able to when I was using Windows Media Player ..

Is there anything else I need to do or is it as good as it gets ?

This works, but then stops working properly after a while, when I first got my G15 it worked fine with iTunes, then I built a new computer and it stopped working with iTunes when I had the iTunes window minimized or was playing a game (so it worked when I was looking at iTunes) - Then I installed this awesome file and then it started working properly again for about a month or two but Has recently stopped working properly again.

I also use a G15 keyboard, it worked in 32bit windows but not 64bit unless you were in the iTunes window.. which made the keys pretty pointless. Thanks so much for this it would send me "insane" mainly because sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. you're awesome.

Ok dude, i got it! thanks alot, its a relief that it all works ^_^ btw if your using vista or 7 remember to change your view hidden files/folders. ( do this by opening C: then click organise >> File and search options >>select the "View" tab and then checkbox "Show hidden files/folders" (this option should appear the icon of a folder)!

Awesome! Works with Windows 7! For Windows 7, its the same for Windows XP set-up. You just have to create a Plug-ins folder in iTunes!

iight i got it, if u dnt have a PUG INS folder. i did 3 things but only one of them worked. make a folder called plug ins, put it in there. ALSO put one in the Mozilla folder AND put one in the Itunes folder (like.... in the folder of itunes, not a folder within the itunes folder.)
