Epic rock ballad via the Supreme Creme de la Creme of all Rock Bands and the pure, raw, undistilled excellence of The North, Burton Cummings and the Guess Who!
I remember when this came out. I used to sing this song all the time and my mom kept trying to discourage me from using that dreaded "D" word. I was 9 at the time. :)
THANKS!!!!!! For a moment thought I was 18 again...listening to KAAY...musta just been a flash!!!! HaHaHa!! Great music!!!! Great times!!!! No music like this today.... Nellie can't sing like this....and Dang Bang can't write like this!!!!! HaHaHaHa!!!!!!!
I remember my Dad had an eight track cassette of Share The Land. He would play in the car the year we lived in Victoria, B.C. This and "Hang On To Your Life" were my favorites. Those were good times.
Yes, thank you sooooooo much for posting this incredible song!! As previously stated, Burton Cummings has one of the best voices in rock,n,roll, without question. So why the hell is the
Guess Who NOT in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?? Cummings and Bachman wrote many
rock anthems, American Woman and Takin' care of business just to name two!!
I don't know why they aren't in there?!?! IMO, they should have been in there right at the same time as all of the other great bands were inducted ie. Zeppelin, the Beatles, the Who etc..
There is a petition online somewhere to get them in. I am sure that they will eventually be inducted, but is a disgrace that they haven't even been considered yet!
I heard on this on KQIV, the first (and probably only) quadraphonic station in the Western US back in '73 and the DJ said, "wow man, something else!" Still have it on cassette tape somewhere.
The Guess Who é único.
Kurt simply shreds it ..I still think that Live at the Paramount is the best live album there is...

The Guess Who is not in the hall of fame because it is run by a bunch of crack smoking rap idiots.
One of the greatest bands of all time
I think somebody should start a real R and R hall of fame

The guess who made their best music with Kurt Winter on Guitar , not Bachman
I seen them live with both guitarists and Winter was BY FAR the better show and guitarist
When I saw the Share the Land tour , Areosmith was the opening band , and they sucked

Burton just friggin rips up the end of this , he has to be one of rocks greatest vocalists

@vegasshowgirlshoes The last minute and a half of this cut are my favourite Cummings' vocal from the entire album. It is the quintessential GW album.

You can see Cummings get about 40 years older in a split second there, but
that's just the way it goes. Time, space, continuum.

It's okay, why would you want the
Guess Who in there, when you could
have Madonna????? Quite a joke isn't it?
