  • actually, this is not a remix.it is a experimental job.so.we sud encourage it..however it is...and being a music director and composer...i sud say..that in music all sorts of experiments are allowed..and we can even see that even tagore had implemented some of the western tunes in some of his songs...now , in those days the western songs were like that..and nowadays, the songs have become more modified.thats all.many experiments are done to invent and discover new things.so its a great job..;-)

  • i am a singer and have been singing Kabiguru's songs al my life. I have also studeid English Literature all my life. So, in retrospect, personally i dont think one of the greatest minds/hearts of all times would mind his song being ADAPTED to the times. Long live Tagore, long live the dynamics of the changing times.

  • plsss rabindranath ke rabindranather moto thakte din.... tini jodi POP/Rock e akhhom hoye thaken bole mone hoy tahole tar akhhomota tuku sporsho kora to dure thak khuje pawar khomota tao apnader ba amader hoyni.......'

  • @ritadrik chup...

  • @ritadrik well.. i dont quite agree with you.. we all grew up listening to Tagore songs.. but today's kids have no idea about these beautiful Tagore creations.. u tell them to listen to one n they'll try n shrug it off.. i think it's a great idea to make it hummable for this generation too.. at least they'll listen n probably love it .. and these "re-mixes" aren't that bad to totally banish them.. i m sure Tagore wont mind if he comes across these adaptations.. so relax !!

  • Creativity, in all forms, should be encouraged

  • I am glad that those restricting undemocratic 50 years are over now .... Finally art is free ....

  • @netnew ...u r a kid who stays in home does not go out and reads all bullshit..right..thought so . gofukurself u dumbfuk

  • i guess this is a beautiful remix version... musically very good... and in philosophical way the song's interpretation has changed in a more contemporary way! there should not be any problem with that! if you really have to keep rabindrasangeet alive we have to do this kind of effect more... with changing generation the traditional way might not suit for the coming generation...

  • এই প্রথম রবিন্দ্র শুনে ভাল লাগল । সব রবিন্দ্র সঙ্গিত REMIX করতে বল না কেন তাকে ? তাহলে তো আমরাও শুনতে পারি ।

  • nice one

  • Why Tagore songs? Why?? don't you got whole lot of shits in the world to fit in the rubbish movies???

  • @sumanlondon excuse me, but wouldnt you call that the beauty of TAGORE songs. They transcend time and make sense not just to a select few (like me who has been with Kabiguru and Literature all my life) but to all!

  • Luv This song!! Rabindre Sangeet wth a western touch! Beautifully sung by Shreya Ghoshal!!

this is the felicitation for the creator

  • the guy commented below me is an idiot. A little learning is always a dangerous thing. What you know about sin or virtue? what you know about creator? How dare you judge Rabhindranath !

  • Well robindranath wish not be in the heaven as he has done all the dirty and sinful things. As he was underqualified person and you can see many of his works related to sinful ideas, against the creator and religious perfection. So he must be in the hell and must enjoy these.

  • ya ... rabindra sangeet k niye western dhaache notun vabe record obossoi kora jai ... bt somehow lyrics er sathe eta jaina for this song ... its a sweet song ... not hard rock ... shreya is awesome in this song ... bt some extra added things are irritating .. its not that i dont like western ... or m a fond of classical rabindra sangeet ... if u wanna hear what some one can do which is soothing for ears listen to the songs of the film "mon amour" .... just to check how to mix or "remix" ...

  • As a Bangladeshi musician I have to say that movies like these don't do justice to Bangalis of Bangladesh really. I mean, to start with, the very name "bong" for Bangla is derogatory since a ganja-smoking pipe is also known as "bong". Bangladesh is just not a country of floating debauched vagabonds that this movie aims at showing. This type of cinematic discrimination should be scrutinised carefully before they are allowed to find a place in our markets here.

  • I happen to see the movie on Zcafe yesterday night-cum morning from 3 to 5 am.........too Bengali morning ....but the movie was a subtle reflection on the change of mindsets of NRI and the hypocrisy that still prevails among them...........as a character of Rita a brat turned good at end but was sad to know about the character like Rakesh Ganguly......a second class american......well people like them are every where but to the same free birds are ready to break out........a good work

  • I love this song !

  • বেচারা রবীন্দ্রনাথ। এটা না কোরে অন্য একটা ভাল গান তো লিখে তাতে সুর দেওয়া যেতে পারত। this is a sacrilege of something divinely beautiful । এরকম নির্লজ্যতা অচিন্ত্যনিয়।

  • agree with that

  • very good mordern rimix of rabindra sangeet.

  • BREAKING NEWS >>>> Tagor just had a major heart attack in the Heaven..................... Please help him to get well by STOP listening this song.

  • @IAZADC dada acholayatan porechen? Rabindranather lekha

  • Very very nice creation ... Please pardon me if it seems rude. Ami abangali meye kintu bangali bou. I accept Robindra Songit is eternal. But for people like me its monotonous and some times it gets boring as well, as most of the songs are slow. But this is a very nice way to make Rabindra Songit spread. Let both kind of songs reach public. Now its our choice what we want to listen. This way at least we get a chance to know Rabindra Songit.

  • Rabindra nath Tagore r Kishor Kumar jodi aaj beche thakten tahole khub dukhho peten aie gaanta shunle.

  • @rohanb007 correct

  • cholbe dada! bangla rabindra sangeet is reali good 2 listen.

  • Loved the song and the changes in it.

    @CRITICS:

Rabindranath went to England in 1878 at the age of 17. After his return from England he composed a music drama "Balmikiprotiva". After grand success of this he composed another musical drama "Kalmrigoya" in few years. Both of these contain songs were based on western music.

  • Phoole Phoole dholey dholey bohey ki ba........ is an adaptation from the irish song named "Ye Banks and The Braes of Bonnie Doon".(You can check it out in youtube if you wish to) Call it a copy, a remix, a makeover or an inspiration; the great poet himself was surely not against it.

So people who claim that Kobiguru would be unconscious after hearing this version are surely mistaken.

  • Thanks for uploading this video. Loved this film from the first time I saw it New York in '07.

  • Hats off to Anjanda.Keep up the good work:)

  • Great job in bringing a new dimension to Rabindra Sangeet. Change is always good. Thanks for trying out something different.

  • a case of dogheads takin d plung where angels (of music world) fear. both rendition & d improvisation r utterly gutterly.

  • harsh_nishad@yahoo.co.in

  • As traditional that I am, and I would never belive that I would ever say this.. but I kinda like it... I think that credit needs to be given for the attempt... For those of us, who absolutely love Tagore and his work, will find this offensive, but for the newer generation, who is not interested in Tagore at all.. and doesn't care about Tagore's work, for them, this is a great introduction to the wealth of art in Tagore.

I will give kudos to the creator

  • Worst kind of rabindra sangeet remix ever. Who the F commisioned this movie? :X

  • Awesome song. I just can't stop listening. Good Job...

We should experiment. I hard to find good clean bengali song like this.

    Thanks

  • Absolutely shit

  • that slut raima sen dancing to a rabindra sangeet song... what trash......

  • and is that shayan munshi

  • its shot in santiniketan

  • Why are we destroying our heritage for commercial exploitation!!! this is absolutely unacceptable... Bikram you are one educated Chap, and trained and in classical, I admire you how ever how can you be a part of such crap. Can you ever dream of writing a lyrics like this !!!! STOP EXPERIMENTING WITH TAGORE!!!!

  • non sense

  • Fucking stupid

  • crap...lost the beauty of the song...

  • KHUKU 41----Experiments r always welcome. Film tar prosongeh ei gaan hoyto thhik aachhe. D male singer ki Nachiketa ? Na, typical 'Bong sentiment' noy----but moneh

serokom daag kaatlona- sorry ! Anyways, a good try .

    @tupunsayan----Ur comment is most appropriate.

  • I like the fact that they're experimenting, but really, the "ooh la la" was completely unnecessary. :/

  • Its all for my cuty friends

  • this is a nice remix

    well done

  • @ mmadbd...

completely agree wid u......it's a superb attempt...specifically in context of the movie.

  • We can enjoy this song a a song but as a Tagore song, may be many views. Whatever those, this song has to be evaluated as a part of that film "The Bong Connection". The bengali boy who returned from US trying to touch his roots from US background. So, its a fine attempt. But regarding video one can say " it could have been adjusted with the lyrics of song (rainy Day with strong turbulent wind). If you can reach west and new generation with Tagore, where is the Problem?

  • I can see some typical bengali sentiments!! :-)

  • Rabindra Nath k chere dile hoy na??

  • @Tupunsayan : Jar hoy, tar hoy, aamader hoy na :) (excerpt from Shesher Kobita).. It is very much vital for the new generation to see Tagore's work from their viewpoint, and this is an example... if I hear this version of the song playing in a car full of youngster... it will make me happy, I rather hear this than loose this great culture

  • This is a new attempt...Some would like and some won't...I like both the versions...I think we bongs love to live in the past...We had only 1 Rabindranath, 1 Satyajit Ray, 1 Sourav Ganguly..and we keep chewing the cud rather than producing something as good as them...I think we should move ahead and be open to new things....

  • it's a great fusion of the original song. i loved it. all the western classics have numerous versions, why make a big fuss about it?

also this is part of a movie and the version is more in tune with the film. cheers.

  • absolutely worst!!!! Tagore would die after listening this trashy songs.

  • how can Anjan Dutt make this ??? this is bullshit...omg...i just can't believe this shit....

  • daru pranjal o prashongik. rabindranath ki achalayatan pachhanda korten?

  • nobody maybe imagined this kind of shit will happend with even Kobiguru ,should not we cry..........

  • purono gaan ta bhalo, notun e kharab ki??

v shuld evolve out of our nostalgic mindset n accept change which is different n innovative, coz in innovation lies the root of prosperity.

    aporajito

  • Eto nice 1ta ganke ki korlo era?

  • Certain thing shouldn't change with time. Such as this song. The original is so much better. Jottoshob....!

  • Sick of this stupidity. U lal la = U lal la asinine. The composition is on baul did the idiot recomposer has any sense? Who is the braying man singing? Must be the recomposer.

  • totally rubbish!!

  • A Baul Rabindrasangeet and Arabic tune match only in a asinine mind. This the sick to the nth degree. Shame on the weirdo.

  • Only listen to Shreya and till Shreya sings and close your eyes while you do so and then stop when shreya stops singing....video is such stupidity...

  • Priyaranjan da i didnt get what was so stupid abt this video, the song is abt free sprit and if u consider free sprit as stupidity then may be u fall in the group most commonly known as intelectual aatel !!!!

  • I think the song is good...Music changes with generation ..we shudnt compare with original...however I felt that the video is not at all modern ..its very cheap but the song is good!!

  • Hey sorry to have caught up with this a lil late.... frankly i love this score. I think its aesthetically done and can be played even on your car audio... cant imagine playing rabindra sangeet otherwise while driving, no matter how close we all are to these songs because we have grown up listening to them.

  • its too boring

  • @sandatta1963...do u think dere is any chance of creating another rabi thakur?...no way...i am focsing on dis particular song and its music...apni probably sristi r srastar moddhe gulie felchen..hve u seen dis movie?..thats perfect match wid d scenario..rabi thakur k nie samalochonar sahos bodhhai amar & apnar karor e nei..chalte chaltei natun path pao jai bose thakle noi..seta nahok chena path thekei suru holo....wht do u think?

  • rabi thakur to durer katha ekta sachin dev athaba salil chowdhury o habena. yes I have seen the movie. if u scroll down u will see. Yes it is a good match for the scenario. But tar mane ei noi je the song attained any class when played outside the context of the movie. As a bengali I have certain expectation when u touch rabithakur.... it is about the song not the movie. if u want to cont. this pls reply on my msg otherwise it doesn't come to my mailbox and I don't come back here to check msg.

  • what i can tell....unless and until u try to do something different.........u cant survive in dis competitive world.....bt changes shld be in +ve way....r serom bichar korle rabi thakurer to oneeek sur western music theke copy kara ba inspired....amra to proudly accpt korechi sei sob gan even vry popular o.....eventually i can see everything has its own way,,,,u cant say anything bad vry quickly....dont 4get law off relativity...ultimate add 1 more dimension that is TIME.. sandatta

  • rabithakurer gaan khubi kam sankhyay influenced by western music, most of them came naturally during his in Britain and his love of Scottish folk music. He incorporated it absolutely in Indian way like he did with baul, kirtan, tappa, carnatic not for popularizing his music but for enriching it. Creative people are passionate and get influenced and create new things completely original. not by putting few nonsensical word before a song and trying to sound 'cool'. that is called selling.

  • and couldn't add in my last comment due to limitation of size. I appreciate your civil tone and not trying to judge me and instead of focusing on the subject here. Rabindranath is a brand name and survived 100 years in this competitive world unlike most of our latest creation. If we are still creative lets try to create another brand like him instead of piggy backing on him. That is in my view not courage, it is cowardice and ineptitude.

  • i dont understand what the fuss is all abt

if u do not want to listen to this then go and listen to whatever u like

plz do not critisize ppl and show ur shallownwss

  • i dont understand why people dont wnt change.....for a change it is excellent..r .....legally eta r biswabharatir ekar sampatti noi.......even it is a good move to make rabindrasangeet more popular.........but i love 2 listen sagar sen, debabrata biswas too

  • @supriyajana thnx atleast some people are not afraid to welcome some positive changes

  • amra change chai, tobe ta holo apnar moto faltu lok er change.

Gaale chor diye daat gulo fele dewa dorkar :)

  • Eta ki? Rabi Thakur-er matha chibiey khawa?

  • ufffff.....

  • taamasha...

  • Eta ki?

  • There are few things in life I would appreciate if left untouched (at least this way). I happen to see this movie a very stereotypical portrayal of Bengal and Bengalis in US. Just putting a funky tune to a Tagore song is not experiment. It is shows your lack of sensitivity and understanding. As someone says you killed the original song now what you do with the bones and ashes no one cares.

  • @sandatta1963 just want to say that u cannot decide what to do and what not to do

coz there are many like me who like change becoz it requires courage to break the stereotype for better

  • yes I can decide what I like or not. That is what I wrote. Please read carefully. And to answer your question if you don't like something which people have adored in its form for 100 years why not create something original which will may survive for 100 years. Instead of doing the easy thing 'experimenting' on the Tagore? Yes sir I know I can't change your view in 500 words but nevertheless I want to document it that I absolutely detest it. any problem with that?

  • ppl liked "it" becoz they did not have the taste of alternate genre's of music, becoz they did not have the guts to accept anything different, becoz they never dared, and thats why every bengali outside bengal is scorned upon, who

hide behind the wall of intellectual snobbishness.

also i'd like to add that i'm very proud of being a bengali, a independent bengali of today

  • that's fine with me. you have your view and I have mine. let me express my view loud and clear. It is sad to see that people need to mix coco cola to taste nectar. That's all I have to say.

  • nice song sweet no fret who wrote

  • Just Fata Fati.....Rabindranath ke venge chure natun vabe gora......Fresh Blood in a Fresh Body.....Full of Youthness.....Jai Hooooo.........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Eto baje picturization manush korte pare.

  • Such an insult to RabindraSongit.Get a life!!

  • Ami etai to eto din dhore bolchi.

    Tito Dutta.

  • Liked Nockiketa's part: "Bristi Bheja Bhora Shondha Tara, Kon Boloramer ami Cheyla"

    Added life to the song...........

  • why didn't I die before listening to this horrible experiment with Rabindrasangeet? There are few experiemnt on tagore songs that are good but at least they tried to keep the soul of the song.

  • Absolute trash!

  • Absolute trash!

  • @dodulhuq : you are right...nonsense

  • @dodulhuq

Grow up. People started listening to Robindrosongeet after this. The next generation needs to know what is in there. If we don't change ourselves, its our loss...its our society's loss.

  • boring rubbish

    and that's being kind

  • @LBiolSci you should die like a taliban commander and stay in hell after death. This is an experiment with Tagore's music... and people are liking it.. "brishtir nesha bharaa sondha bela kon baloraam-er ami chyalaa... aha!!!" Nachiketa's voice is superb here with this new words added into the golden song.

  • somebody please get a gun and sgoot me. so thats how they sodomized a tagore's lyrics. arrghhhhh.....

  • Lovely !! Rabindranath is always great and this picturisation is good.

  • So nice....

  • excellent song remix...........

a lil bit over use of music

  • BULL SH*T !

  • Very good.

    Keep it up.

    Make some more music.

  • i dont think a simply remix can ever kill the essence of a grt song like "pagla hawa".

It only proves how versatile our Rabi Guru is.

even many shakepeare plays are still "modified" till this day...but it dusnt make him any less "shakespeare."

grt writers like Rabindronath and Shakespeare will be always cherished. their art will nvr grow old.

  • The kids are so international looking. Like my son and my daughter. I regularly exchange music with people on the Internet and you are with this and other songs part of my pride. I love passing this tune to my English and American Friends all of whom love it. Keep it up kids! People don't criticize to this degree unless they have a hate agenda. There is nothing wrong in repackaging the classics to keep them alive. The oooll llla oola la hey -it works. Good looking people making great sounds.

  • I read some of the comments on here with horror! How petty minded and small for these pyjama-wallas to belittle an amazing cheerful and colourful presentation. I am 57 and I was tapping my feet and swinging with the tune.

  • I think the soul of that song just died in this remix. Use of new instrumental technics + mordernizing of the rythm is ok. But sometime you should not play with the origin/root to make it more beautiful. Root is just root. For an example, you can not go beyond the Big bang of the Universe, its beyond human imagination. You can just look it through Habol telescope.. If you realy want to feel the soul of Rabindra Shangeet, then go back to origin. Just my 2 cents..

  • well done itz a great remix !!
