This is not supposed to be a privilege like what most Malaysians believe. In most developed democratic countries it is a basic necessity. Were all Malaysians privileged to study medicine or other fields in UK, US, Japan for free? Mahathir helps uplift the bumiputra only. An extreme jealous guy uninvited on the recent goo-goo-gah-gah with Harry Lee, His importance drastically reduced to melancholic depressions. Mahathir was popular for the breaking "fast" in expensive hotels like many of his cronies. Doesn't this contradict the very reason for fasting in Islam? Just ponder over it ...as the poor muslims are breaking fast with not much to eat in the villages and kampongs. How is he a good PM? That is why I mentioned below that he is a better magician than a PM because there are still many Malaysians with blind faith with their support for him.

Every country has corruption but Malaysia's corruption ranking is one of the worst in the world in 2008. This study was performed in Hong Kong and not the west. ranked 47 from 39th place. Higher the number, the more corrupted the country. Sad but true.

Well said. He might have developed the country but surely was not responsible enough. He did not have a good succession plan and left the country to be run by Abdullah Bdwi. A good leader would have had a plan before leaving. He pade enough money for himself, his sons, and cronies. Mahathir is a greater magician than a leader to make money disappear in the country and some malaysians still are his die hard fans.

Hi subhanjasmon. You like many Malaysians got an education but in many democratic countries equal educational opportunities exist immaterial of your ethnicity. This is not supposed to be a privilege like what most Malaysians believe. In most developed democratic countries it is a basic necessity. Were all Malaysians privileged to study medicine or other fields in UK, US, Japan for free? Mahathir helps uplift the bumiputra only. The MCA & MIC did not represent the ethnic groups like Mahathir did.

Every ethnic in the world has the wealthy & poor groups. A lots of Malays also still poor. So did the chines & indian. Talkin about privilages, the malays has been left in the villages by the colonials for about 200 years. That is why it is imbalance happen. Divide & rule policy did to us, but nobody shouts. If the Malays still left behind, it will worst. In the 50's more than 80% of well educated in Malaya are non Malays.

I agree with you. You are right about every country has rich and poor. Dont you think that the policies Mahathir had implemented did not benefit most Malaysian. The poverty even among Malays are still considered high. The development is actually only KL and Selangor. So how did Mahathir really help? The education standard in Malaysia is poor compared to developed countries. I am just trying to understand your point.
