Just ate one. I read a guy got one that tasted a little lemony. My was not really ripe, but had a cumber flavor with some unidentifiable fruitiness. My mom said it was like a strawberry tartness. Over all, it wasn't too bad, and I think I'll get another for $3.

i'm eating one right now and i wanted it to be some great new fruity taste but i really don't like it. it has the taste of the seed part of a cucumber mixed with green banana taste. but when you squeeze all the seeds into a glass and mix it with sugar it's good..

The proper way to eat one is to take the sacs and squeeze out the seeds with your teeth, then spit the seeds out.

Don't worry though, you won't die unless you ate millions and millions of the seeds, which goes for the same with apple seeds.

And yeah, it's ripe if you can taste banana!

Dude! Those seeds are deadly! The poisonous effects are cumulative, kind of like arsenic in apple seeds. You won't get sick right away, but one day you'll just keel over, deader than a doornail. You might want to get your affairs in order, say your prayers, go to confession, and all that other pre-death stuff. Good luck!

I see those all the time at Safeway at was always curious about them; thanks for sharing this! I heard that a soursop is pretty good, like a mixture of strawberry, pineapple, and banana. Have you ever had one of those?
