  • @xDUBYAx I'm guessing you didn't bother to watch up to the 6 and a half minute mark?

  • im on a boat mutha fucka

  • I love how the other guy ran back to shut his door :)

  • I cant believe that guy stayed in his car to film this. It surely could have been his fate on video. Lucky!

And japan needed more people before the tsunami because more Japanese ppl are dying than they are being born :(

  • @msesmeralda150

i think japan should "shrink" to some extent, to the size of, say, some 80 million (now it has over 120 million) people because it's way tooooo crowded now (i'm japanese, and i'm serious)

japan with about 80 million people will be a better place to live in, i think

  • know the geico commercial where the pig sticks his head out of the window and goes WEEEEEEEEE........

  • I really have to wonder what it was like from the perspective of the average person. What sort of warning did people have? Why are there so many people who were so well prepared and so many who were like this guy, still in his car in the mess of it all? What about from different towns? Did they all wake up thinking it was a normal day until the earthquake hit? Or even until after that? Were kids in school? Did this guy just not know or was he being dumb?

  • @Faeleena It was different all around. This man was probably trying to return home from work and got stuck in gridlock traffic, preventing him from reaching safety. My friend who lives on a military base over there says that he was on an activity bus heading home when it hit, they all had to evacuate suddenly and run up a hill.. He said he was scared for his life

  • @Faeleena

in fact nobody in Japan expected that big tsunami, which came in 30 to 60 minutes after the quake

tsunami warning issued at the time when the driver of this video was hit was telling people only about its expected "height", saying "...in Miyagi Prefecture about 6 meters of tsunami is expected, and in Iwate Prefecture..."

real tsunami that hit the region was much taller and much much more powerful than expected, which went into a few kilo-meters inland

  • fucking nuts

  • at 6:11 the driver got out of his car (and swam to a nearby building)

  • i wonder what brand is the car ... damn it floats!

  • How cold was the water? Anybody know?

  • @fockyoumang i think its about 4C~5C

  • love how the wipers are still on

  • I can't wait for technology to come that translates voice for videos like this... it would be great to hear what they're saying.

  • Fuck me, I've watched SO many of the videos from this tsunami... this one definitely tops the list in the "holy shit" factor.

  • ... this guy is SO fucking lucky to be alive. He doesn't make a peep during the entire thing but he kept his windshield wipers on.

  • @GulfVetSAF watch this hole vid dude, this is holy shit. watch?v=yiENf1f1tIA&feature=related

  • @GulfVetSAF Yea it was REALLY messed up stuff.

  • @kittykatty585 Driver was still inside, probably saying "wtf man shut that fking door, im staying."

  • how did i get here from watching people on rope swings.... ah youtube, killing time since 2005 :) ps great video, horrible tradgedy

  • That tanker truck would have made me real uneasy.

  • :((( THERE WERE PEOPLE STILL IN THERE CARS :(( RIP

  • after the car was crashed into the building, the video ended and he was able to get out of the car and climb up the building nearby. thank goodness.

  • thank god that car can float

  • The Japanese are amazing drivers. Even caught in a tsunami he managed to park his car by backing it in.

  • is it weird that in situations like this I wouldn't be afraid at all. I'd be too busy doing whatever I had to do to survive and that would take all of my concentration.

  • They dont make a windshield wiper speed setting high enough for this.

  • Just yell lol

  • yeah i want to know what to do in that case too! Any expert?

  • worst case scenario..is it safer stay in the car OR left the car?? any expert here??

  • 6:12 the same in any language

  • thanks to this vid footage..now i know how it feels to be hit by a tsunami...its sure is damn scary!!!

  • In this kind of situation, which would be safer: stay in your car and make sure all the doors/windows are shut tight or climb out the window and hang on tight on TOP of the car? Can the water get in even if you close the windows?

  • Imagine...sitting in that car....horrible

  • did this guy die??? 3:46

  • Oh my god that s crazy. I hope that guy that jumped out of the car lived? Man this video was really scary,God bless from Canada as much as that means, peace, love and life always

  • crap i feel like im gonna pee on my pants if i was him!

  • A lot of us are wondering what happened to this poor guy? We understand the terror of the event but could you translate for us? God bless all of you! So sad!!

  • Did he die

  • i didnt know cars float

  • @eb3nflo just about anything will float if you have enough air in it. Main issue is that cars aren't air tight so they will fill with water and sink eventually. If a car was fully submerged, like falling into a river, it would fill and sink much faster. What makes it more dangerous is that the partially pressurized air will make it very difficult to get the doors open.

  • Look how quick they got those roads cleaned up! amazing work ethic

  • oh god thats terrifing, once your car is in water that high you cant open the doors to get out and you get trapped, you can either open the window and risk drowning the car along with you or wait and hope you dont get smashed into the side of a building.... i wonder if the guy that left the car door open and closed it made it out, that water looked like it was rushing in very fast

  • 0:30 - 0:35

The last thing that I am worried about when running for my life, is whether or not I remembered to shut my door on the way out.

  • @CalebMush hahaha i laughed so freakin hard when i saw that shit hahahahah!

  • @TheWarhero1424 it means you are an idiot

  • @CalebMush

lmfao gotta remember to keep your car clean in case you have to head back

  • @CalebMush they wanted to look after their leather seats lol

  • that camera guy died RIP

  • @Hamzaalfarra

    nope. he luckily survived.

    the driver appears on 5:20

  • 0:32 The dude closes his car door. "Yea dont worry your interior wont get wet" idiot

  • @sonofZekie you assume too much, i think he shut it so it wouldn't get ripped off....

  • I think I would be soiling myself if this happened to me !

  • @Nelvin78 Might as well, eh? God damn....... I am SO glad I'm land locked, not near major fault lines, not in tornado valley, and no forests to burn. And it's flat. No land slides, mud slides, avalanches, etc.

  • why did the guy go back and shut his car door? its not like its gonna stop the water from getting in! lol

  • i've always been curious... but what does insurance do in this type of situation? (i'm a kid so i dont know) if your car is destroyed or something?

  • i would have got my surf board out and started surfing the title wave

  • omg now isee thru their point of views it looks terifying. also i watch it thru the news and saw it thru the hellicopters point of view and see the tsunami swollowing stuff destrying stuff geez.

  • If that ever happened in my country Greece, everyone would panic and they would start crashing one each other in order to escape from the water!!

  • 0:31 Japanese:Polite, no matter what the circumstance.

  • this is more terrifying than zombies :'0

  • yea my white ass would have been outta there like the guy on the right

  • 0:16 guy on the right: im outta here!!

  • So it can explode with you on top..

  • Guys cant u see the poor man is trying to turn left!?! can he at least get a chance geez! lol

  • i know this is messed up but that kinda looked fun sadly it wasnt :(

  • i feel bad for all those lil cars and the people over there. japan needs to make big trucks like we have in america not that tiny economic bs....every car was just swept away like nothing

  • @stuntrider15 you really area stupid ass, do you think a pickup truck would stay on the road in such conditions? Idiot.

  • @stuntrider15 dude u are dumb enough said no vechicle could survive that

  • @TheJak3up that semi truck was just fine. my Lifted F150 was fine when new orleans was flooded back when hurricane katrina hit and the streets were about 2-3 feet high with water. i still have the truck today too.

  • @stuntrider15 The thing is, there is a big difference between a Hurricane and a Tsunami. A tsunami creates underwater waves that are powerful and can pull objects as big as boats down underwater. It has greater horizontal force than a rapid moving river. In hurricanes, water comes from ABOVE and it rains downwards so it doesn't create much horizontal forces compared to a tsunami.

  • @bee5120 this is just water on the streets.....

  • @stuntrider15 Water that came to shore from the ocean! That's what a tsunami is! Ever been white-water rafting? It's like a raging river.

  • @bee5120 whats your point dude? this isnt a river. its like the same shit as a flood where this guy is filming.

  • @stuntrider15 A flood is the general umbrella term for "an overflow of water that submerges land". Yes, a tsunami is a flood. BUT it's a "moving" flood with a current (same like a river) because the incoming waves from the ocean pushes everything in the direction it is going. My point is, a "flood" with a RAPID MOVING CURRENT is A LOT WORSE than a "flood" from simple rain that collects in a landlocked area without any way out.

  • @stuntrider15 Tsunamis can bring down houses with it's powerful undercurrents while a flood resulting from excess of rain RISES from bottom up. That's why you see cars being carried along the direction the water is going, which gives it more FORCE rather than a flood just collecting water that is rising from bottom to top.

  • @bee5120 that semi truck didnt move at all....

  • Car surfing?
