@texastexas1 Yes, I am sure it's an 1987, we picked those wheels up off an '84 T type I did a resto on a few years back. Al's car was a low rider and came with spoked Dayton's on it. Obviously he had to get rid of those. On another note Al's et got down to a twelve two at 110 mph.
Nothing's wrong with GN's we like them a-lot obviously, my boss has an 11 sec GN my co-worker has a 13 sec GN and my other boss has two Turbo Trans am's one's run an 11.2 and the other is about to start terrorizing the desert southwest. I'm not sure what you mean.
He had just bought the car and was working out some of the hokey work it's previous owners had done to it since this filming the car has gone on to a best time of 13.8. Just another example that you don't always see what's going on in these videos. Alvaro has only had the car for two months or so at this point.
ha ha 442 gotta love 'em chev's have the 427 mopar hase the 426 and the olds have a car with four-barrel carburetor, four-speed transmission, and dual exhaust. not 442cid
James.. Good to see ya having fun at the track! Cool Vid ya got here. I need to see when you cut the roof off. How do you lock the chassis so it doesen't flex when it's cut off? Just wondered is all?
i am looking forward to seeing this vid my plans are to remove the top of the plenum chamber and repair the rust are around where the air vents are very common problem in Australia on our A- body cars i am doing it at home and i am planing to use several car stands to get the car off the wheels
so I read you got some help from an 11 second buick and transam, sounds like you in good hands! my gn is also a project not even running yet! I have too much love for grand nationals! for cheap performance you can box the rear control arms. Tublar front upper control arms are really cheap at $125 or so. But really it takes a few hundred in parts to go fast, what is important is the tuning! What kind of tuning are you guys running?
Those are wheels from a 85 or 84 GN. Is that really a 1987?

oh, alrighty. 13.8 seems like a more appropriate time for the GN. was the drag race shown filmed before the correct rear gears where installed?
