  • OMG this made such a big difference, usually i would have to stop at certain parts of a song because of short breath but your tips helped me control my breathing.. THANK YOU!

  • Great information. Thank you very much.

  • if anything this is the best way to learn how to sing an old black guy screaming at you

  • I just found out today that i'm a diaphragmatic breather LOL! whenever i breath i can't seem to get my chest rising..only my belly rises ._.

  • You look like Danny Glover!!

  • i want to sing with my Diaphragm but i am in a wheelchair and i cant stand up to get my diaphragm in the right position. any tutorials or tips for people who are in a wheelchair?

thank you for the good information

  • @nowayout177 There's another video on this channel that touches on singing while sitting. Check it out, as it should help you a bit.

  • @nowayout177 Just curve your back inward as you breathe out of your diaphragm, that will keep your alignment in the proper position.

  • You look like Sidney Poitier! :)

  • So, whenever you take the breathe and start singing you push your diaphragm outwards???

  • Great video! Nice watching your videos - Thank you so much!

And you sing really nice too!!! :)

  • I need to thank you so much.

    OMG,

So the point is... We need to take our breathe when our belly is being outward?

    Sorry for my bad english.

  • is he gay?

  • You're not only a wonderful singer, but also an amazing teacher! Thank you very much!

  • I am watching all of your videos, thank you so much! :)

  • i remember watching one video here and it was the first time I felt enough breath and felt free and I could not find the video again - not sure - should have saved it but it was the most amazing feeling to hold notes I usually may struggle with..

  • How can i sing with alot of range i have not been singing as much as i used to because im visiting my grandparents for a year and they dont like singing AT ALL and i lost all my practice of range and riffs and control what should i do ????

  • great video, but when take a breathe and your belly is out are you suppose to maintain holding your tummy out while holding the notes or do release or exhale making the tummy flat??

  • thank u so much it was 100% useful , i was looking toward this topic for long time, and just know i getting it all.

  • do i have to tense up my stomach? or is it just natural...?

  • Sir we need more uploads and videos from you, this helps, but need more videos from you!!!!!

  • when i took acting classes to teach us to breath and talk from our diaphragm, the teacher had us lay down and breathe deeply to teach us about how or body moves with breathing, then we put our hands on our sides so we could feel the air and take a deep breathe and see how many times we could say the alphabet on one breath. It actually helped a lot to train us to breathe from our diaphragms.

  • so basically, use your stomach area for that extra support, right? :D

  • @SingingMadeSimple You have honestly been more of a help to my singing today alone than I've ever had before. I've been searching for tips and advice on how to sing well (I have no formal practice and I needed to step up as lead singer of a band without one), and your videos have seemingly done a wonder. If I had the money, I'd pay for every lesson you've done.

  • @KevinAsianInvasion I'm so happy that you have received such value from my videos. It is my pleasure to offer them to you.

  • @SingingMadeSimple yea i am a great singer now and when i become famous one day im giving credit to you

  • i still dont get it :/ though ive never had any kind of lessons or anthing ive just sung for fun.

  • @thebesteva95 Thank you for taking the time to let me know :-)

  • @hombrelubinero Thanks

  • When I was in high school music class was pretty boring. We didn't learn how to play an instrument or learn how to sing or read a single note. The teacher just talked mainly about music history I kept looking up at the clock hoping the bell would ring any minute. I've learned more in 6:38 with your video, then 4 years of music class. You're not boring and explain everything so well. Please keep it up! Thank you for posting.

  • @mrjazz747 Thank you so much for your comment! It gratifies me so much to know that my work is making such a difference to others!

  • @mrjazz747 school is bullshit, i could sit at home and watch youtube tutorials in 1 hour and learn more then 1 day in school

  • Love how you are right to the point. Wonderful instructional!

  • @termtrky Thanks for commenting!

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

  • @Dreamer485 You're welcome!

  • I wonder how long I can do the lip roll exercise for more than 10 minutes?

  • Excellent video my friend. It really helped me improve my singing. :)

  • @Ultimaion Thanks for being interactive and commenting. I'm glad to help :-)

  • is this true, that skinny people sing better then fat people, since skinny people have for breath, because im chuppy and for me when i sing i can really breath. i sing then stop then breath,

  • You're saying when inhaling i need to push the air against the belly, like trying to hold the belly out, right?but i learned it like after inhaling to strain the diaphragm, this kind of feeling when you do the lip rolls, and those are 2 different feelings for me pushing or straining, what is the right way to do it, can you help me clear this, I've been working on the right diaphragm technique for almost a year now with my vocal coach and still get confused as everyone tells something different :)

  • did anyone actually go to the site and type in their email adress? i wanna kno if its legit, seems legit, but i wanna kno from someone who tried

  • @mast3rprocrastinat3r If you enter your email, you will get access to the videos on the blog.

  • @mast3rprocrastinat3r

I went to the site and actually tried the free lesson...i was able to hear vibrato in my voice for the first time using his technique. As far as typing my email... well i took a risk...glad i did.

  • @mast3rprocrastinat3r Yes, I did:) Its allright.

  • how do i know if im doing what your saying right?

If Im using the diaphragm and not my throat?

  • @muchmusictv101 If you're using your throat, you will certainly feel strain, or hoarse after singing.

  • @SingingMadeSimple and also singing from the throat will hurts and is harmful to the voice box.

  • its quite hard for me to sing with mt diapfragm it feels uncomfortable

  • Will singing with your diaphragm get rid of that airy unprojected sound when I try to sing higher?

  • this relllee relle helped!!!

  • so how do i know if i am singing with my diaphragm instead of my throat?

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks alot for the video! =D

It really helped me alot, i really needed to learn how to use my diaphragm to be the screamo vocalist in my band. =)

  • @FlipSide4000 I'm glad that I've been able to help :-)

  • i dont know why , but no matter how i try , i still dont get it and i still feel the vibration in my throat !

  • @kpoploverize Things have been hectic since the holidays and Roger has asked me to request that everyone post their questions on his blog, as he is trying to catch up on the questions there. It will also allow others to benefit from the response. Not to mention that there are answers to most all of your questions that are already there...The link to the blog is: myfresssinginglesson(dot)com

  • This is pretty much what I needed to know. Thanks a lot for the video and keep up the good work! :D

  • @AlexK878 Thanks for your comments :-)

  • I dont get it. My singing improved kinda and I was watching this other clip on youtube and she said that if I feel a vibration on my throat that means I'm not singing with my diaphragm.... Um i feel a vibration?

  • @XxEmoSnowdayxX That is not the correct information. Feeling vibration in your throat means that your placement is not quite correct.

  • Thank you so much! This was so helpful! :D You are a great teacher!

  • @DanishGiirl Thank you for posting a comment.

  • i don't understand lol

  • @Chaos2285 Watch the video again and practice it more, and it will begin to make sense. Also, just sit with your hands comfortably on your stomach and notice the breathing pattern that occurs.

  • @SingingMadeSimple Thank you sooo much i actually sing country and rock and as soon as i saw one of ur videos where you take a breathe push out the diaphragm and as you sing you still push it it made sooo much of a difference in my range tone and pitch and i was able tooo keep singing longer without having to take another breathe ..

  • THANK YOU VERY MUCH YOUR VIDEOS ARE VERY HELPFUL

    GOD BLESS.

  • @galaxy164 You quite welcome :-)

  • I've been trying to improve my singing lately, but had found my throat getting sore quite easily.

This video was great for showing me how I should be singing. Thank you =)

  • @Xyttik Thank you for leaving your comment :)

  • I love to sing baroque music and it requires much more breath control as compared to pop music. This pushing out is very uncomfortable while singing, it doesn't feel natural to me.
