Like Azagthoth have gained some weight,so should Pete,or he might get same problem with his back.The force Pete uses when he drums demands more power in his arms,they are thin like his sticks.Thats why he should lift some weights & gain musclemass IMO!!

But when they are blasting with 270bpm, then it's impossible to keep the same sound on each bassdrumhit :o)

@waratthewarfield No doubt he was an influence. But look at Gene Hoglan. He is a superior drummer in every way and only four years younger. But he also takes better care of himself. Pete's cramped playing style most certainly contributed to his back problems.

@boobmonter64 Thank you but I am well aware of both Morbid Angel and the whole acoustic v triggered DM drum sound debate. Have you heard 'Covenant'? Great natural acoustic kit sound. This just sounds bad. And no, I don't prefer it when he triggers very drum on the kit either, that sounds bad too.

Actually.....Covenant was all sound replaced. Was told that by Morrisound studios when we recorded In Cold Blood there in 96.

Totally overrated. Lombardo did this over a decade ago and better.
Pete's drum sound is as horrible as ever.
He's nowhere near the top in death metal drumming.

@RainerWarrior666 well looks at he´s age, of course he can´t compete with these younger and modern new drummers, such as G.Kollias or R.Goulon but i´m sure he was and still is a great influence on them, and respect the one who has albuns such as "Altars of Madness, World Downfall or Covenant " etc...

@waratthewarfield No doubt he was an influence. But look at Gene Hoglan. He is a superior drummer in every way and only four years younger. But he also takes better care of himself. Pete's cramped playing style most certainly contributed to his back problems.

@RainerWarrior666 He was at the top for over 20 years. He is one of the pioneering death metal drummers. Definitely one of the fastest drummers in the late 80's, 90's and 2000-2009. (Faster than Lombardo) What happened? HE HAD MAJOR BACK PROBLEMS AND SURGERY AND HE IS 50 YEARS OLD!!!!!!! \m/
