  • VERY NICE SOUND:D loved it;) must fix that sound on my gti:D

  • what is that for a setup ? i have the same engine ,the sound is nice ...what have you done ?

  • its an ABD air intake setup, which basically has a K&N open air filter cone and a adapter piece to fit the original intake bracket. in the back i have a universal Magnaflow Perfromance Muffler, all 304 stainless steel, with dual round 3.5" exhaust tips. other than that everything is stock engine/exhaust wise. are you from germany? do you live there right now?

  • check out the end of my video when i rev the engine, the first rev you can hear the rattle im talking about and then when i get louder theres this almost whilstle sound but sounds like an exhaust leak. does yours do this too?

  • no dude mine doesnt do that. when i had it stock it came with a lil tip at the back so it sounded throatier when standing at the back of the car. but once i had my magnaflow installed i drove it around like crazy and after a while i had a similar rather, what sounded like it would be right under me...

  • and ya it would only apear when i reved it really high. ithought it was maybe just some rock in there or it was the bushing from the headers connected to the rest of the exhaust, but after awhile that noise disapeared. so ya dude i dont know what else it could be, sorry that i couldnt help you out with it, but hopefully you resolve the issue.

  • there was a leak in my airfilter housing

  • oh is that right, lol. well I am happy you've figured it out

  • yes, i used to really want an e30 m3. but my car doesn't sound like the e30 325i but the e36 with the m42 engine i think its called. inline 6 2.5L. it running a 270 cam so it gets a bit shaky at idle point feels like im sitting in a small block v8. you know anything about rattling noises from the muffler? when i bought the car the guy told me that the muffler is missing some kind of a bushing thingthat goes on the muffler somewhere...

  • haha nice, mine does feel like that too sometimes, lol. love the 8v though. hmm rattling could come from a lot of places i guess. i had some rattling noise on my exhaust too, it came from the heat plate right above the muffler it was all crumbled and loose, after i had my exhaust installed it was really bad until i took it out, lol

  • i also had rattling noise since i had a bushing missing. those are just the rubber pieces that hold the exhaust to the underbody of the car. and some bushing on mine were really old and loose so the exhaust had a lot of movement when i was cornering accelerating and braking or driving over bumps, so it was touching the rear axle sometimes and i could hear it vibrate and rattle, lol

  • so ya, i hope this will help you a lil with the problem and if you have any questions or comments let me know maybe i can help out. plus new bushings are prolly really cheap and easy to install

  • what do you have on this car? straight pipes and dtm muffler?

  • i have k&n open air filter cone by ABD stock exhaust manifauld, stock cat, stock middle piece and universal Stainless steel Magnaflow muffler with dual 3.5" tips, and that's it. would love stainless headers though, maybe next year. i love the way it sounds right now though.

  • reminds me of a civic

  • it sounds a lil different on video. still there aren't as many of those around as civics. is that red golf yours? gti 8v?

  • yes sir, mine does sound wierd in video too but in person it reminds me of a loud 325i if you've ever heard one

  • a stock 325i? yes i've heard a stock 325i before and i like it. all i really wanted to do with those videos is to bring out the pure sound of the normally aspirated 8v engine, i love that sound. did you ever hear the sound of an E30 M3 DTM car at full throttle? sounds AWESOME!!! if you are an n/a fan, that is, lol.
