People who want to ban Olympics are totally missing the fact that the Olympics is about sport and not about politics and we are celebrating sports. No doubt China will host a memorable Olympics but did anyone tell the Chinese Olympics Organising Committee that this is a horrible song. Did some Hongkie pay off or lobby for this to be the Olympic song? Do a survey and many Chinese will wonder what's the Hongkie artists singing. Accent's terrible and voices are also terible. Mostly the song is terrible.
for the accent critique, have you got any problem with that? Deng xiao ping use Sichuan dialect to lead the country, and nobody care a shit about it. Isn't it perfectly acceptible for those cantonese speakers singing with accent? and I know they are paying their effort about the accent issue, and they are improving.
