  • NOW I HIM FOR president

  • The same in Portugal

  • Like the founding fathers believed, there was a higher law, above men, which was the God given right of Life, Liberty, and pursuit of property.

  • Look up CAFR (Comprehensive annual financial Report) for all government entities. Total revenue was 14 trillion. Gov. takes taxes, investment income, and enterprise income. We have NO deficit. In short gov takes in 3 times what they say is their "budget" and use deficits to increase taxes. We could have NO taxes at all and all gov services could be covered. Wake up

  • Notice when he say's-THERE HAS ALWAYS BEEN CORRUPTION IN CONGRESS

  • Interesting video. I agree that reducing the size of government reduces the opportunity for corruption. However there is a risk of myopic focus if that alone becomes a driving factor. Reducing complexity of the tax code - great. But what is the role and responsibility of government? Is the underlying disease one of navel-vision and greed in the population and is that governments fault?

  • SBX 211 corrupt judges go to full disclosure and juditial watch and Dr shirley moore.

We need to show support to bringing these courpt judges to justice. the los angeles superior court judges are stealing 50,000 each. times all 436 of them = 21,000,000.00

per year. if we don't get angry about it they will get away with it. twenty one million per year.

  • How about SHRINKING THE SIZE OF CORPORATIONS? Big Business is the problem. Big Business bribes Big Government . If you want smaller government, then shrink Big Business. More than 100 years ago, Teddy Roosevelt, a Republican, believed in a balance between the needs of business and the needs of people. Big Business tries to convince Americans that they are "too big to fail". Teddy Roosevelt cut Big Business down to size, and became known as the "TrustBuster". Teddy, help us now!

  • @revbillw7 Good idea! While we are at it, how about splitting the government, can we please slice and dice the USA to like 20 different states?

Sarcasm aside, you fail to understand the crux of the problem. "Size" isn't always defined in monetary terms. Power seems to be the problem. If you have a good legal system and enforcement, a weak and small government that is under constant scrutiny of its citizens, big corporations will find it hard to bribe the government.

  • @crossxlui

Thank you for explaining that. Because if I had to do it, it'd have been a lot meaner. Hahaha.

  • @revbillw7 You got to understand that big corporations have a place in the economy through its economics of scales. Just imagining chopping walmart or AOL into tiny pieces, just how is small businesses going to support their high fixed cost. Regulating "size" isn't going to work well...just start with getting the system right. :)

  • Lets, abolish the FED, the IRS, implement a Flat Tax, cut government spending by 70%, privatize social security, voucherize Medicare. Repeal the 16,17th amendments, and replace our current Tax code with a 12%(if the government is small enough, make it 10%) flat tax rate.

  • Its true that the bigger something gets whether its Government or a Business that it becomes more prone to corruption because of it size, resources and influence.

Thats why I believe in "Maximize Freedom and Responsibility for the Individual" where people have the right to live their lives as they see fit as long as their not hurting anyone with their Freedom. I don't believe in the Socialistic Democratic form of Big Government. Or the Authoritarian Conservative for of 'Big Government".

  • You're right that our government is very corrupt. That's because big corporations buy laws and lax oversight that give them what they want at the expense of the citizenry. But saying that the way to get rid of corruption is to shrink the government is exactly like saying that the way to get rid of crime is to shrink the police department. As Teddy Roosevelt said, if government is not more powerful than the corporations, the latter will run the country. And they do!

  • Dan Mitchell for PRESIDENT! Please vote!

  • 12 senators and congressmen did not like this video.

  • As I like to say, as long as they are doling out the cheese, there is no way to get rid of the rats.

  • No, no, no, no no. It isn't shrinking government. Its reducing the influence of those with more money aka corporations. Get it right and stop listening to and reading Grover Norquist.

  • Great Video

  • Our constitution was written by rich white men for rich white men. Convince me otherwise!!!

  • @ExtremeRecluse They gave the vote to common white men.

  • Representative govt is the problem. Get rid of it. We can govern ourselves. It would be quite easy. Govt is intentionally made difficult to understand so the common individual would not be interested or be able to actively participate. why do you think you need to be an attorney to read understand our laws. The laws should be reviewed and rewritten using 6th grade level English. Why do politicians come from wealth? Do they represent us? I don't think so!! We need to shrink govt by abolishing it!

  • he thought that 2009 has big spending wonder what he thinksnow

  • Want less food poisoning? Stop eating

Want less misstakes made by doctors? Dont seek medical care that often

Want to spend less money on gas? Stop driving to work every single day

You dont want to vacuum so often? Dont enter your own home

The government is your democratically elected representatives.

You want to be screwed by big corporations? Dont use your tax-funded government-endorced legal systems

You dont want democracy? Dont vote that often

You want Anarchy? Remove your GOVERNMENT!

  • @indigo11274 You're just a lobbyist for Govt Corruption LLP aren't you?

  • Please see my video: "Severely Autistic Boy Lost in Big Government" It raises a lot of questions and illuminates things in a different light.

  • Love the video. Very informative. I like chartz =P

  • Just saying...

If you are going to recommend dismantling the state, take it seriously.

Replacing the distribution system that is built into a price coordinated economy is difficult. It is sad to see people recommending stuff that has been tried or that doesn't even make sense.

Sorry, sir... your revolutionary new system is called Mercantilism... etcetera.

  • Vote all of the corrupt assholes out of government: Obama, Pelosi, Sebelius, Harry Reid, Charlie Rangel, Barney Frank, John Kerry, Al Gore, and Rahm Emanuel. Acorn is a scam, so is health care and global warming. It is time to take back America ~ before these swine overthrow it with Socialism. Pull your head out of your asses people. These crooks are cleaning your clocks and making fools out of you; you bunch of suckers.

  • The main problem is not the corrupt government but rather corrupt people who support them. You sound like a smart and reasonable person. By the way Why do people hate capitaism that just means that people run the business although now I would say our nation is going toward socialism (or ommunism) Ithink that this nation is filled with communists because everyone hates capitalism and everyone hates socialism and by process of elimination that mkes us communist

  • We all get caught up in the nasty minutia. The system now is set up for the rich. We fight among ourselves while the fat cats run laughing to their off shore banks. Some people are addicted to this shit. I say we uncomplicate things and take our country back. The rich and powerful do not own this country. The 350 million citizens do. We have the capacity to run things without the aid of elected representatives. Citizen govt, no currency no corruption; no headache. The people rule!!

  • It's not set up for the rich If you have high income the government takes like what 47% of you're money and distributes it among those who can"t or won't work while the poor man pays about 3% taxes. They thry to suck the rich dry

  • One set of laws. China will no longer own us due to our removal of currency from our system. What ever our country needs to survive; we just make it happen. The catch is; people must get engaged and I believe they will profoundly so. The emphasis will be put back on working together. Want a college education? First you must serve four years in the military! No more chicken hawks; everybody male and female puts their ass on the line. No free rides any more!! Think this could happen? I think so!!!

  • I'm glad you don't run the nation

  • We need to take back this country lock, stock and barrel and start all over again. Review the outdated constitution which was written by rich old white men for rich old white men. Review all laws. No government? How? Autocracy; the people will take the place of congress and the president. Mob Rule? NO!! Majority rule. 200 million voters. No lobbyists!! No excuses!! Write the new constitution and laws using 7th grade english. Every important issue will be voted on via the internet.

  • Take all forms of currency out of our economy. Now the only true assets are things that sustain us: food, shelter, clothing, mass transit, alternative energy. We don't need to wait around for some multi-billionaire or corporation to take a risk. How do you survive in this system. We just build efficient homes and the productive people move right in. No rent, no insurance, no car payment. No homeless or hungry. You work for your survival; just like you do now without the headache; together.

  • I say we go all the way and eliminate representative govt and currency. Government is inherently corrupt and currency inherently causes greed. Our Constitution was created during the horse drawn buggy era. It was logistically required. With the high tech era, we can self govern using the internet. We conduct billion $ transactions using it. Just think; we could get things done without considering cost and put millions back to work. Want mag lev 300mph trains nationwide; just do it!!

  • No, currency does not cause greed. "Greed" existed long before it. People only want money because it buys THINGS. It is logical to assume that before people were 'greedy' for money, people were greedy for various things.

But this brings up another issue. What is greed? Greed simply means people want things for themselves. It is actually sensible. Everyone wants things for themselves, including you. Where it becomes a problem is when it becomes THEFT. Otherwise, it's normal and healthy.

  • I wouldn't call it healthy.

  • bigbrothertech . com exposing big gov tech

  • This video is AWESOME!

  • STARVE THE BEAST! END THE FED!

  • "Stemming corruption requires strong oversight by parliaments, a well-performing judiciary, independent and properly resourced audit and anti-corruption agencies, vigorous law enforcement, transparency in public budgets, revenue and aid flows, as well as space for independent media and a vibrant civil society," said Huguette Labelle, chairwoman of Transparency International.

  • lol false propaganda? That's just ignorant. You actually believe that a bigger government would lead to less corruption?

  • Google corruption index.

Least corrupt is New Zeeland,Denmark Sweden, Singapore, Finland .All big government countries with a happy population and a higher standard of living than the US. By the way USA is nr 19, the really small government countries are the most corrupt. So this is bullshit false propaganda.

  • The U. S. government is the largest government in the world by far. It runs an entire world-spanning empire. The defense budget is the biggest of big government boondoggles the world has ever known. Not to mention the most destructive. Furthermore, we are the money counterfeiters of the world, itself an act of corruption which leads to further corruption. So this is not false propaganda although the focus is not precisely where it should be.

  • You're an idiot dude. Do you realize that most of those countries pay over 50% in taxes as well? They also have very, very strict government. Hell, you can't even chew gum in Singapore. You want to live like that? Mover there. You want to live free? Stay here and do what is right. Less government.

  • Be very careful on how you read those statistics.

This is not propaganda. Name almost any government program and you've just named a level of incompetence with wasteful spending.

What Dan Mitchell is stating is that is government protects the special interest (which includes the private sector). Meaning their is not a fair level playing field.

If government just did what it's mandated we wouldn't have the plethora problems facing bureaucracy today.

  • Check their economic freedoms ( heritage dot) org/index/ranking.aspx ) If you'll notice, they're all either at the top, or near the top. The lowest being Sweden and Finland. Now, I don't have the time to do this, but I'd be willing to bet, if you graphed the economic freedoms with the corruption index, you'd see an inverse relationship. As economic freedom decreases, corruption increases.

  • I checked, there is 7 economic free countries in the world ranking Hong Kong as nr 1. It is a part of China. The rest Singapore, Australia, New Zeland,Ireland,Switzerland Canada

are all big goverment countries. God for its population and very low corruption. The second group 8-30 mostlly free countries were USA and Sweden placed was a mixed of small and big goverment countries countries. The worst group 100-179 was also a mix big and small no correlation. Thanks for address interesting

  • Great video!

  • Were the politcans less corrupt during the wild west? Lol

  • there wernt any! and it was a lot safer and peacefull that it is nowadays.

  • Lol yes sure it was alot mpre peaceful

  • im pretty sure it was

  • See kgaccount or cdfoakley channel to wee how corrupt our government is.....billions of dollars have gone to thousands of agencies allegedly charged wtih duty to "protect and serve disabled population" what a joke. Our family has insight knowledge of what a scam these agencies are...thank God for groups like Disablitity Rights of California fighting for the truth and justice for the most vulnerable populations

  • The Governments and political systems of the world are mere buffer zones between the countries citizens and the real power behind the actions of Governments, Shrinking the size of government and corperations who act for the Government will only serve to make their activities invisible, they will be driven beyond close scutiny, I personally would prefer to see the corruption, Corperations acting for and within Government departments can be more easily monitered by regulatory bodies...

  • Con't ...Okay these regulatory bodies do fail in their duties, and perhaps deliberately so, but they are all we have to preserve the integrity of our species. There is no escaping the activity of 'Back scratching' and 'Favour Swapping' it is an integral part of Freemasonry it is their way, we just have to accept that the only way to fight this is to maintain our liberty and free speech, We much resist, every time there is new law restricting our freedom, our liberty, they get stronger.

  • You argument assumes that government departments themselves will be in the "public interest" and Corporations will not. Frankly, it depends, and it is why the Founding fathers were brilliant in making separation of powers at the core. If I am Corp. A, I could be greedy and put sand in my rice sacks...I go out of business, If I soon become "corrupt" and force people to buy it, then the Constitution is violated and the government acts.

  • propoganda???

  • i say we demand change in congress because the reality of things is that the govt violates the people's rights to become more powerful. We demand change- if diplomacy doesn't work we start a revolution.

  • Flat Tax would be a great first step. Everyone knows it, yet it never passes. In fact, it never gets any attention at all. Ask yourself why? Do you know why? The answer is the same as it is for everything - greed, money, and power. so how are you going to get Flat Tax passed?

  • You are correct in assuming that shrinking the government will indeed reduce the corruption in Washington. It would be a step in the right direction for many reasons, but the corruption will continue, unabated, wherever the money and power land. More regulations and laws won't change that. For real, lasting, and significant change to occur, it has to come from within.

  • approve of their actions. It will only be when the majority of people act from a sense of fairness, seek and promote what is true and right, and always make decisions from a strong and steadfast conscience that is rooted in real understanding, humility and respect, that corruption will decline.

  • The underlying disease is not excessive government, the underlying disease is a pervasive lack of morality in human beings in general. Immoral, conscienceless, selfish, greedy people are everywhere. The notion that most people are fundamentally fair and honest is hogwash. Most people are supremely selfish, will do anything to favor themselves, and will use any and all irrational justification to

  • This is the number one thing I wish liberals, who I love for their anti-war and human rights stances, would listen to libertarians on. The better libertarians out there aren't greedy capitalists (lol), they just recognize that the state is the tool used by "the elite" to exploit the rest of us. Case in point: the current healthcare proposals.

  • Politicians are too powerful, take advantage of corruption opportunities and don't even pretend to live by the laws they write.

    Very clear presentation. Thanks.

  • This video makes a great argument for being a Libertarian.

  • Isn't Leopold Kohr vision even better?

  • Fun tip: Police (and all gov't officials) are required to take an oath of office upholding the Constitution. . Violating that oath negates their office. Any judge, police officer, senator, president, mayor, member of the military, etc. that violates the Constitution immediately ceases to hold that office, and in most states is a felon. The U.S. Curently has maybe five or six legal Senate/House members, a few thousand police, and has not had a president in nearly a century.

  • Yep!

  • 5 Star! Article 1, Section 4 "The Congress shall assemble at least once in every Year. . ." It doesn't sound like the original vision included career politicians and six-inch-thick bills circulating every few weeks.

  • @carolyncriss exactly

  • If the gov is going to spend 45k on my family I rather them give ME the money directly in stead of having 95% of it spend and a pool for the senate hall and 5% actually going to help me.

  • You're a moron and obviously didn't get the message.

  • No flat tax.

    No income tax at all.

The federal government could go on at Constitutional levels with no income tax.

    See the 10th amendment.

  • or u could change the high schoo;s ur self. start a manditory class that focuses on goverment corruption. im not sure how much of an impact it would have, but im sure it will change washington, now that there would be millions of students watching their every moves. oh yeah debate class should be manditory. I dont want just talk, im taking action with this idea. whos with me?

  • I agree with you. I may not be very objective saying this but I feel that most of my generation so far (Generation Y I'm 20) has no idea how much corruption is going on in todays government. The same could be said about the past.

  • THANK YOU! :)

  • Excellent vid, this should be mandatory to all high school civics classes, but I know,Hell would have to freeze over before that would happen...

  • The government is full of morally depleted human beings who whore themselves out to every lobbyist and corporation bent on cheating and defrauding America

You want less corruption- make corporate lobbying illegal. Make bribes a capital crime to both parties. Don't allow corporate bonuses if the labor force has been slashed to protect day traders.

Make politicians act like our employees!! be at your job- no closed door sessions ever!! One politician = one vote- no committee chairs!

  • effective video

  • The two party system allows the federal government to control us.

WE NEED TO ADD AT LEAST ONE OR TWO MORE viable political parties.

  • When you get government everywhere, you will have corruption everywhere. CNN said~ $55 billion dollars could be lost in the stimulus package due to waste/fraud. If a smaller stimulus package had passed, to cover ebuilding roads, sewer, gas, electric, water, bridges about $150 billion it would be easier to audit.

Starve big government. Its hosing money losing companies and special interests with our tax money. And building a culture of dysfunction. Rangel, Dodd, Geithner, Frank, won't fix it.

  • He's right, let white freakin house be privatized and incorporated

  • lol, popping the balloon at the end is probably not the best symbolic act. Maybe letting a little air out would be more appropriate. :)

  • True, but yet sad.

When will we get another Reagan? I want smaller Government! I want a Libertarian! I want "real" change! I don't want any more Democrats and/ or "fake" Republicans (i.e. Specter). However, America is still the best (at least for now).

  • thats why we need to kick the old out and bring in the new ones in. <(X

  • Anarchism for the win!!!! Learn anarchism people. It is time for you to learn what has been hidden from you.

  • I don't know if you missed the memo, but America is damn near bankrupt because of less oversight.

That's when people's greed take's over and we, middle class workers, pay the price. I say, we need to provide the oversight to these greedy selfish bastards. Fuck private business. Those son of a bitches ran off with alot of our money, and it was too late when we caught their asses.

  • diah--

You obviously didn't pay attention to the video. The financial system is the most heavily regulated sector of our economy and look what happened. Madoff was visited many times by "regulators", did it help? NO! Government breeds corruption. You probably think FDR cured the great depression too, huh?

  • If it's so regulated, how can ppl walk off & steal tax payer money? I dont know what your definition of regulation is, but it may be alittle off. In truth, I believe the govt as a whole is one crooked ass organization that has done enough just to keep the country rolling, but they're robbing the hell out of us. I dont trust them as far as I can throw them.

I think it's hilarious when people try to undermind you by assuming how you feel about a different topic. Make an ass out of themselves.

  • "I believe the govt as a whole is one crooked ass organization ... they're robbing the hell out of us. I dont trust them as far as I can throw them."

Exactly! Not sure why you have a problem w/ the video if that's the way you feel.

"how can ppl walk off & steal tax payer money?"

because the government mentioned above lets their friends do it. The stimulus didn't go to you and me, it went to the bankers and wall st.

Still not sure why you have a problem w/ the video.

  • ...and the regulations are generally written by special interests and lobbyists for their own benefit anyway.

  • Yes because sounding cool is the most important thing on his mind... sorry but the people who "try to be cool" their whole life are not in a position to be influencing rational thought.

  • The person with a good speaking voice can be handed a script written by a genius and convince both crowds. You have to appeal to emotion AND reason for the message to get across. Especially in the culture brought up to focus on emotion.

  • Lets start with the "Federal" Reserve.

    HR1207 and then we'll move onto HR833

  • Socialism & Communism are failed systems.

We must remove our self-serving socialist

White House Chimp and his band of Monkeys

in Congress if American is to survive and prosper.

  • Let's start with outlawing paid lobbyists. They are the scum of the earth. We can all agree on that.

  • Lobbying is like pornography; I know it when I see it. Your head is what is shrunk.

  • Redistribution of wealth is communism. So rage more you socialist bastard.

  • Every time a dirt poor Mexican makes a phone call, the richest man in Mexico ( and the 2nd or 3rd richest in the world), recieves a "tribute" in pesos, because he owns all the phone companies in Mexico. This is SICK and you are a Fascist bastard if you support it. You don't know what makes the world go round. You are simply ignorant and this dude Dan Mitchell is a liar, con artist, and dangerous because he influence young male punks like you, who arm themselves with guns and goes on a rampage.

  • I would have given you a thumbs up but apparently after a number of thumbs down, no one else can vote. The world of youtube is a very strange place.

  • @trumpit 94:

You would rather everyone on earth be poor than a small number of people be rich, a large number middle class, and a small number poor.

I don't even fear your petty socialist theories, because I know that in the long run capitalism will triumph. The entire history of mankind is evidence of this trend.

  • If this is what the real populace believes, we have a real problem! Hard work deserves no reward?! The problem is that the government hands money out for those "leaning on the shovel".

  • Outlaw lobbying, then this loudmouth can shut the F. up.

  • reporter: Do you have lobbyists in your country?

Borat: Im Kazachstan, a lobbyist is when a mans and a womans make love in a lobby.

    reporter: what about political lobbyists?

    Borat: we shoot them.

  • LOL! First we must do as Shakespeare suggested and kill all the lawyers.

  • 8======D==== on washington

  • Dude the corp in America do not pay much taxes right now. With this current tax code you can write off so much shit that you end up paying little to nothing at all. Trust me I own my own LLC and I get so many tax advantages that it isnt funny. Employees right now pay the largest tax percentage. At least if there was a flat tax they would pay an equal percentage as everyone else but the tax laws are written for the American entrepreneurs, investors and business owners. Not all corps are evil

  • The majority of them are run by honest people that do not get bailed out from the government. Do not be fooled by the "Robin hood mentality" because that is just greed. What is happening today is "socialism for the banks" and it is not fair.

  • 1. Why SHOULD they pay more?

    2. What is wrong with tax havens? You make them sound like child prostitution rings..?

  • Comment removed

  • I would definitely go for a for a simple flat tax over the current progressive tax system - good 1st step in streamlining things and reducing the regulatory burden around the tax code - even Russia has gone to a 13% flat tax - much lower than what Steve Forbes proposed

  • retard

  • Liberals are stupid people.

  • I agree with the flat tax concept. I've seen many pols push for sales tax as an alternative, but just look north at the CN GST tax which was enacted temporarily in the 80's. Enact a sales tax and congress will later enact another income tax and then you'll get taxed coming & going!! 2nd cut gov't spending 25% across the board. Let cabinet officials decide where the cuts will be in their depts. If everyone is affected then no one can complain. Elect people who have the will to end the corruption

  • what made you guys want to do something like this? ... haha you guys are so creavtive that was so origianal and completely funny!!! [=

  • trew dat!!

  • House resolution 875 is the Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009. It endangers small family farms and small organic farms that sell their food at local farmers' markets; and even tries to control food from your own garden by expanding the amount of paper work required to follow the buying, selling and consumption of any and all food. There is another bill just as dangerous, H.R. 1332. Stay informed.

  • Comment removed

  • Nice puffy idea - what about the how part? Where does the proverbial rubber meet the road with this idea?

  • Stop growing the size, cost & power of Washington. Maybe even go the other way and instead of adding trillions in new spending as Washington is now doing, why not cut spending?

    That's how.

  • Puffy???

One could begin by reading the Constitution, and actually following it. It's not a new idea. Check out the year 1913. Things really went downhill that year.

  • Yes indeed, that's when we (and by "we", i mean an elite group of private bankers) founded the federal reserve in 1913, and only 6 months later we fought "The War to End All Wars" (WWI), as it was known at the time.

We've been at war ever since.

  • Tell your Congressman to co-sponsor HR 1207, The Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009. HR 1207 strips out the exclusions that the FED had planted in the 31 USC Section 714 back in the 50's that made all the important parts of the FED opaque to the Comptroller General's audit. When people find out what the FED has been doing, it will create a firestorm to abolish it, thereby cutting off the profligate gov't from it's central bank enabler. Sort of cutting off their water.

  • right on

  • The increasing size and power of the Federal Gov makes it easier to commit fraud and corruption, become greedy and disconnected from the people they serve, and almost impossible to run at any efficient and effective level.

  • hr 875

    HOUSE RESOLUTION 875

  • whats in 875?

  • HR 875, was introduced by Rosa DeLauro whose husband Stanley Greenburg works for Monsanto.

The bill is monstrous on level after level - the power it would give to Monsanto, the criminalization of seed banking, warrantless government entry, the stripping away of their property rights, they want the end of normal seeds and thus of seed banking by farmers or individuals. They want control over all seeds, animals, water, and land.

  • I wonder if you had to go to harvard to figure out that one, smaller govt, no of course not, there has to be a purposless beurocracy for every facet of our lives to maintain social control and a steady stream of tax dollar, its going to be an indefinite scam unless we shrink the govt and go back to jeffersonian principles

  • Looters and moochers. Where have I heard those terms before...? haha.

  • The reason big business gets big and corrupt is .... big government, which is by definition authoritarian. Progressives, aka socialists, persist in that voodoo religion and believe authoritarian government can be made benevolent. Yet, wherever they have unhinderred contol, the creat a living, corrupt, violent hellhole for the citizenry. The liberal republicanism of the Founder's, Whiggism, understood that Big Government can NEVER be Good Government. You have to choose.

  • Most corporations don't "take" our money. Same with non-incorporated businesses, entrepreneurs, etc.

Only corps. with large-enough budgets to have lobbyists to influence law, and that engage in government contracting (billing for tax dollars) 'take' our money.

But, it is within the authority of the Purchasing Dept, and of elected representatives (only they can 'appropriate') to stop all of this.

So, let's "UN-ELECT" all of Congress, and probably all State, County and City officials!

  • When politicians say they "...must regulate this industry for the good of the country..." what you should hear is: "...we intend to corrupt this industry to guarantee we get money for our re-election..." The law actually gets written by the lobbyists for that industry. They include anti-competition clauses to protect the big business, and the big business makes the "campaign contribution" to the politician. Nice and tidy, isn't it?

  • hr 875

  • BALLOON!!! Balloon go bye bye...

  • you tube "Fiat Empire" and "How Our Corrupt Monetary System Works" This is whats really wrong with America and allows government to get so large. It's the ultimate fraud and corruption.

  • what bothers me about this is no one seems to realize HOW MUCH BIGGER the gov't got under Bush. And Cheney's big push was to get more power to the executive branch while he lived outside of the law.

  • I think the point is that sure the government got bigger, but the aspirations of the new administration, and the congress since 2006, has been to dramatically increase the size of government to a much larger size than it is now. that is the problem

  • Sweaty, Maybe you should watch it again. He didn't single out one party or the other.

This just in... Obama is president now. You idiots can stop blaming Bush now.

Obama is making it even worse.

  • Suppose it's true that people don't "realize how much bigger the government got under Bush;" does it follow, therefore, that the fiscal recklessness of Obama should be ignored?

  • You mean taxpayer funds, given through a government agency? So one single group of a few bureaucrats will control all campaign funds for all politicians?

    Yeah, that will reduce corruption.

  • well it will help reduce corruption, since the biggest fuel for corruption is money. if we can ban private funding of politicians, we can have a government that is bought and paid for by the taxpayer instead of the corporation that greases the skids for corruption.

it is idealistic but it is better than the utopian solution of shrinking the government, which simply will not happen anytime soon, regardless of party

  • Corporations and banks are now saying, "Oh crap", now they own us. Very scary stuff. Now the government can hire and fire people at will putting execs even deeper in their hip pocket.

  • The corporation TAKE your money? Don't you mean you give them your money for whatever good they are selling you...I don't remember the last time a corporation came to my house and ordered me to give them my money. And being elected by people shouldn't give anyone the right to violate the rights of anyone, and that includes corporations. Of course the corporations shouldn't be in bed with government officials in order to get special benefits, but they are. But that just means we should end fascim

  • fuck corporations.

  • Air, maybe you should dust off that copy of the Constitution you MIGHT have.

  • what do u mean. i just think politicians should be publicly funded
