I'm enjoying this, though also watched Mauro Biglino's work in translating the bible for the vatican, the whistleblower. Odd though, the scripture about not being a private interpretation but based on the Holy Spirit guiding holy men. ie. their private interpretation, ie, they are said to be holier than thou, whereas Christ taught to go within, and connect to Source and shine the true light into the world of darkness. Message was Love, equality and freedom, and other attributes of love.

Have you read any of Chuck Mislers stuff? I haven't found it yet but I'm pretty sure I fell over backward once when I came to a place that certainly seemed like he was implying that he uses the book of enoch at least in the contextual value of historical literature. I also read that it's not grouped with the apocrophile books and is considered to be written by Enoch! This is skin tinglingly amazing exciting stuff!
If you were given the same opportunity to rebuke a person for the crime of some matter and you did it, then my hats off to you. But my feeling is we all should be very careful about saying anything about Gods ministers behind their back. I don't mean to persecute you for your belief, I'm certain you may be right! But I am a defender of people before doctrine and I see too much descention throughout the body.
I never read Enoch until just now, I've been a Christian since 78. I was waiting for some blasphemous thing but I didn't find anything. However, I'm no scholar either, but wow! I am inspired to dig into this and see if Enoch should still be in scripture. And any others for that matter. Excellent delivery of a sensitive subject. You're gifted and thanks for sharing it!

Strangely, I knew from the first second that I realized that a NT writer believed in a book that was rejected by the so-called "Church Fathers" that I couldn't trust them..... I certainly couldn't take their word over Jude's. THAT was what they were expecting me to do, and I just couldn't believe it. I couldn't wait to read the Book of Enoch.
@lederereddy I would have thought that the mystery of God would have been a little harder to discover than this, but look at how people cover these things up! Everywhere you go where something outside of the NT is quoted--even if they KNOW the source--the Church actually LIES to cover it up. It is so easy to point to their cover-up. If you are a "Christian" Leader, you HAVE to lie, or else face the consequences. Too bad it is a requirement to lie to uphold the so-called "Christian" Tradition.

@lederereddy I see your point, but whatever my feelings about it, Michael DID rebuke the devil. According to Peter, they were in the presence of the Lord, so he said "The Lord rebuke thee." The Lord was to rebuke him and Michael knew his place. But this is not merely a mistake, Jude ought to follow 2 Peter, but it was separated from it by the three letters of John. There was and still is an active cover-up of this. The Church didn't want people to figure this out or think about it too much.
@lederereddy Being a Catholic, Enoch was always in my Bible. I recently stumbled up The Book of Jasher, which I read a little over half-way through. Jasher was mentioned in the scriptures in at least one place. I forget exactly where, but It was being regarded as a factual support for the speakers argument. As far as I read the Bible perfectly backed it up, however, as I said, I didn't read it all, but the book is very interesting...

@Victoreza I did a lot of reading and reflecting. I don't claim to be a Scholar, however. I find that by "not knowing" what other people "know," I don't get thrown off track. My "naive" way of seeing, I believe, allows me to penetrate further into the mind of God, Who uses the lowly, and those who "are not," to show up those who "are." I have nothing to boast of except for the fact that if God chooses the lowly and those who "are not," then at least I have those qualifications--in spades.

Thanks for the Audio Book of Enoch after my first read I was in my pool during the day and saw a dark circle in the sky.I was waiting for a word from the Lord to call me up (but I knew I wasn't ready)I fill like Ive found a lost treasure and cant seem to lay it down for long.Ive always tried to find the book of Enoch because Jude had quoted him.I even e-mailed Rabbis, it seems funny they dont even know who he is.Oh dont "trip" on the circle i saw:)God has away of letting me know im on the path.

Wasn't what you were looking for? The Book of Enoch IS ancient, and it is FULL of mysteries. Hard to think of another more ancient and mysterious book. If religion isn't your cup of tea, then it isn't your cup of tea--nothing more or less than that. If you were to click on the link and listen to even the first minute of the book, you'd get a feel for just how mysterious this book can be!
i've known of the nephilum for a while but recently i've come back to christ and decided to study up on different things.... Enoch absolutely facinates me and the implications of what it all means is stunning
@omniexistus Thats why they are still mysteries despite thousands of years of people searching for the answers. What you need to do is find all the pieces to the puzzle, decide which are true and which are not, ask for some sort of guidance while you do. Once all the pieces are there, you can start to put together the puzzle. As the pieces come together you see which ones fit and which ones dont. Look for patterns in mythology and religions and start there :)
Now, when Jude and Peter both allude to a book called the Assumption of Moses, they were taking lessons from it and applying them to their presentation of Christ. When Jude calls Enoch the "Seventh from Adam," that is at variance with what Biblical Scholars assert, that Enoch was written late, only a century or two before Jude wrote, whereas Jude evidently believed that this book was ANTEDILUVIAN in origin, and must have come over on the ark.
Again, we are not taught this, therefore we are at variance with what Jude believed. When Paul uses the "Armor of God" metaphor, we generally credit Paul for it, when it is demonstrably borrowed from the Book of Wisdom. Since Protestants have dismissed the book, they tend to hide this fact from people, and even study Bibles omit these kinds of facts from time to time.
When James says that in 4:5, "Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?" he is quoting something EXTRABIBLICAL as SCRIPTURE, which, like Jude, is evidence against those who teach something else. When the author of Hebrews, in 11:35 alludes to 2 Maccabees, as well as the Ascension of Isaiah, and we ignore them, then again, we are at variance with them. I just don't like to be at variance with the New Testament writers. To me it just seems wrong.
The bottom line is you can accept it on the basis of 2 OR 3 witnesses. Let's say you don't trust the apocryphal and Pseudepigraphal books. You think they are uninspired. Well, let's go even further and suppose that they actually were, and therefore could not be trusted. It doesn't change one simple and interesting fact, and that is that the New Testament writers didn't think of them as uninspired. Therefore we don't believe what THEY believed. We are therefore different from them in that regard.
You are not seeking TRUTH now, you are seeking knowledge & that 'desire' was the ruination of man in the beginning. Have you learned nothing from God!

Book of Enoch. Book of Tobit, Bel & the Dragon, Book of Maccabees, Epistle of Barnabas, & others are not in the Holy Bible. Read the Rev. 22: 22:19. Written by men & not inspired by GOD.
Well, I guess Jude and Peter and Paul and James, and basically all of the New Testament writers were too ignorant to know that. The Book of Revelation apparently "ignorantly" quotes the Book of Enoch numerous times. Too bad the writers of the NT didn't know what you do. I would like to think they knew what they were talking about. I guess I'm a fool for believing them.

Just out of curiosity, how do you tell who is and who is not inspired of God? The same type of heretical judgments were made against Christ himself . . . I often wonder if the world is ready to accept Jesus today as opposed to His time, as they ended up crucifying Jesus for his teachings.
So what is this knowledge? Well, if Peter is defending Jude, speaking to questions of the authenticity of Jude AND ITS SOURCES, then immediately one wakes up to the fact that he has been LIED TO. This understanding allows people to "Snap out of it," so to speak. It breaks the spell. Whether one thinks of these books as inspired or not should not obscure the fact that the books of SECOND PETER and JUDE speak of them as SCRIPTURE and NO CHRISTIAN DENOMINATION IN THE WORLD AGREES WITH THEM.
Well, if He tells us exactly what will happen, and we not only let it happen, but MORE IMPORTANTLY, if we now, knowing the truth about what happened to these books at the hands of these infiltrators spoken of in Jude 4, then do nothing to correct it, then is God to be held accountable? God always warns us first, then He leaves clues for those who come after to undo the damage that was done. You can see warning after warning, throughout the New Testament about wolves in sheep's clothing, etc.
@Apocryphile1970 Hey... It's me again. I have given this some thought and it is possible that Enoch's book was not included in the canon of holy scripture. I'm not saying it's not or shouldn't be. I don't know. What I do know is there are many prophets who's writing's tho sound, are not included. Even much of what David and Solomon wrote is not included. I'm certain, not everything Moses wrote was included.There is value in historical texts. But more in Christ's body.....
Think about Jude's quote: Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men saying, "Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints...."
Well, what else does it mean except that these men will still be in the Church AT THE LORD'S COMING! Yet knowing that these men are also to be judged out of the BOOK OF ENOCH, for it is OF THESE MEN THAT ENOCH PROPHESIED!
It is literally as if it will be said, "Bring me the Book of Enoch that I might judge them out of it!"
Since there is no other conclusion to draw EXCEPT THAT Jude thought of that prophecy as both Antediluvian and as CAPABLE OF CONDEMNING THOSE WHO WOULD BE IN POWER AT THE LORD'S COMING, that is more than just his USAGE of Apocryphal sources that makes Jude interesting, but his judgment that they ARE BOTH AUTHENTIC AND AUTHORITATIVE. He ASCRIBES THE WORK TO ENOCH AND MAKES USE OF IT TO CONDEMN THOSE IN POWER OVER THE CHURCH AT THE LORD'S COMING.
So if a letter only 25 verses long can literally refute EVERYTHING THAT HAS BEEN TAUGHT BY THE CHURCHES OVER 2000 YEARS, and it's RIGHT THERE IN THE BIBLE, then whose fault is that? How many people really give a damn what the Bible really says?
Go and read any commentary on the Book of Jude after fully comprehending the implications of what I've just explained and see if any of them really grapple with this issue. I can tell you right now that they don't.
I've even seen Bibles where Jude 14 & 15 are referenced back to Genesis INSTEAD OF The Book of Enoch. I will tell you something that you probably already know:
THE VAST MAJORITY OF CHRISTIANS DON'T KNOW THE BIBLE
AND
THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT TRUTH.
THEY DON'T CARE.
If you show them where they're wrong, they don't change. They are supposed to live in the world, but not be OF the world, and yet they are consumed with the things of this world.
As for the Holy Men that you speak of. There was one NT writer that fulfills EXACTLY that function, and that is Simon (or Simeon) Peter.
Peter writes his entire second letter around the Book of Jude. Why? Because people raised all of the questions that Peter answered in Second Peter. Think about it, why would Peter include almost the entire letter of Jude in his second chapter? Could it be that that letter was what the rest of the document was all about?
All of his answers and insights and warnings and advice ALL HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH JUDE.
For example, 2Pet 1:20-21 reads, "KNOWING THIS FIRST, that NO Prophecy OF SCRIPTURE(!) is of any private interpretation. For the Prophecy came not IN OLD TIME: but HOLY MEN (Think Antediluvian Enoch, the writer of the Assumption of Moses, quoted by both Jude AND Peter) of GOD spake as they were moved by the HOLY GHOST.
All of this IMMEDIATELY FLOWS INTO THE JUDE MATERIAL.
See how the answer is right there and people don't see it? People questioned the Authenticity of Jude's sources, so he answered their question: "KNOWING THIS FIRST, that NO Prophecy OF SCRIPTURE is of any private interpretation. For the Prophecy came not IN OLD TIME: but HOLY MEN of GOD spake as they were moved by the HOLY GHOST."
See one of the questions they obviously asked him when they brought this letter up to him was, "Were these men's prophecies valid?"
Peter is saying that they were HOLY MEN of old (read Enoch the SEVENTH FROM ADAM), that their prophecies are SCRIPTURAL (An answer to the question that was asked, "Do they hold the weight of Scripture?") Peter even adds the emphasis here: "KNOWING THIS FIRST," so that anyone at all could see his main idea--his REASON FOR WRITING this letter in the first place, that NO Prophecy OF SCRIPTURE is of any private interpretation."
So we know that people were making their own assessments of these books.
See, so Peter was (AND STILL IS) the one who gives us the solution. He was given the KEYS to open or close the gates of Heaven. He strategy was this, answer all the questions in such a way that evil people could use them for evil purposes, and righteous men could use them for more noble purposes--i.e. to open up the gates of heaven by seeing the knowledge that he has imparted to us.
See, evil men noticed that Peter left out the Enoch prophecy, (although he didn't leave out the one from the Assumption of Moses, see Jude 9). This meant that the evildoers, the very men that Jude said Enoch's prophecy would judge, could use this as evidence that Peter was "watering Jude down." See, no Enoch prophecy, therefore Peter must have disapproved of apocryphal sources! It gave them the one tool they needed to get rid of it.
All the while, Peter was ensuring that not only would this mystery be preserved for people who would simply believe what he said over what the evildoers would say--which was in the thousands of years, just as he himself predicted. By including almost all of Jude, he ensured that Jude would be preserved as well. Couldn't throw it out if Peter thought it inspired, and he was supposedly "watering it down," you know, so it was useful for them.
But of course he was certainly NOT watering it down, he was setting them up. They took the bait like he knew they would.
NOW, if Peter really wanted to help us out, he would give us the power to apply his assessment of Jude and Enoch and all the other apocryphal books to Paul's writings and the rest of the Scriptures, which he of course DOES in 2Pet 3:16 "As also in ALL his epistles, speaking in them of THESE THINGS: in which are some things HARD TO BE UNDERSTOOD,
which they which are UNLEARNED and UNSTABLE wrest, as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction."
So it is their inability to understand what PETER IS SAYING IN THIS LETTER That LEADS TO THEIR INABILITY TO READ PAUL OR THE OTHER SCRIPTURES PROPERLY, and thus will lead the CHURCH into DESTRUCTION.
So let's recap: Jude uses Apocryphal sources in his defense of the faith that we are fighting for. (Could the faith we were fighting for be these books?!?)
Next, Simon Peter somehow sees this letter as something to write his own letter around. (Could this letter of Jude be too important to lose?!?!)
Therefore, everything MUST BE UNDERSTOOD AS PETER'S UNDERSTANDING OF THE BOOK OF JUDE, IT'S MESSAGE, IT'S FUNCTION AND ITS PURPOSE.
Peter wants to present us with the genuine APOSTOLIC TEACHING of the SAVIOR AND HIS DISCIPLES (2Pet 3:2-3) as opposed to the evil teachings that will come from those WHO WON'T TEACH YOU ABOUT THESE BOOKS.
He wants you to know that these books were handed by the Savior through his Apostles, but that people won't realize this until the end, because it is always "by way of REMEMBRANCE." We are to "RECALL the words of the PROPHETS."
We are to recall these books, in other words. "He is making the WORDS OF THE PROPHETS MORE CERTAIN." See how easy this all is when you have a "pure mind." (2Pet 3:1)
Peter makes us able to RESTORE THESE BOOKS. He literally gives us that power and expects us to USE IT. In 3:12 he even tells us to hasten the coming of the day of God--and what is the the sign of that day? That divine nature (1:4) AND the DAYSTAR that arises in our hearts (1:19).
See how he speaks of the "Power and the Coming " of our Lord Jesus Christ? (1:16)
We gain this knowledge (1:2)
Receive DIVINE POWER THROUGH THIS KNOWLEDGE (1:3)
And we OVERCOME THE WORLD AND ITS WAYS (1:4)
Then we are given a formula for how to keep this "knowledge" (1:5-8)
Then a formula for losing it (1:9)
NOW ALL YOU REALLY NEED TO KNOW IS THAT THIS LETTER IS ABSOLUTELY CENTERED AROUND JUDE. You must hold that Peter is defending this document in EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD. HE IS ITS CHAMPION.
Imagine that, Enoch is defended By Jude AS SCRIPTURE, and JUDE is defended by Peter, but The Early Church destroyed the Book in defiance of GOD'S WORD. They even went so far as to separate JUDE FROM PETER IN THE CANON.
THEY KNEW EXACTLY WHAT THEY WERE DOING--and we should have too. Why didn't anybody ever question it before? Why DOES the Church continue to BLASPHEME the HOLY SPIRIT by hiding the true mystery of the kingdom. Why shouldn't they be punished?
Actually, the verses you quoted were stern warnings that even though there are books of knowledge out there, we are to stick to the Scripture. Admitting they exist can hardly be taken as an endorsement. It was a warning. It could also have been the 'little book' that was sweet in John's mouth & bitter in his stomach.

I'm enjoying this, though also watched Mauro Biglino's work in translating the bible for the vatican, the whistleblower. Odd though, the scripture about not being a private interpretation but based on the Holy Spirit guiding holy men. ie. their private interpretation, ie, they are said to be holier than thou, whereas Christ taught to go within, and connect to Source and shine the true light into the world of darkness. Message was Love, equality and freedom, and other attributes of love.

Have you read any of Chuck Mislers stuff? I haven't found it yet but I'm pretty sure I fell over backward once when I came to a place that certainly seemed like he was implying that he uses the book of enoch at least in the contextual value of historical literature. I also read that it's not grouped with the apocrophile books and is considered to be written by Enoch! This is skin tinglingly amazing exciting stuff!

If you were given the same opportunity to rebuke a person for the crime of some matter and you did it, then my hats off to you. But my feeling is we all should be very careful about saying anything about Gods ministers behind their back. I don't mean to persecute you for your belief, I'm certain you may be right! But I am a defender of people before doctrine and I see too much descention throughout the body.

I never read Enoch until just now, I've been a Christian since 78. I was waiting for some blasphemous thing but I didn't find anything. However, I'm no scholar either, but wow! I am inspired to dig into this and see if Enoch should still be in scripture. And any others for that matter. Excellent delivery of a sensitive subject. You're gifted and thanks for sharing it!

Strangely, I knew from the first second that I realized that a NT writer believed in a book that was rejected by the so-called "Church Fathers" that I couldn't trust them..... I certainly couldn't take their word over Jude's. THAT was what they were expecting me to do, and I just couldn't believe it. I couldn't wait to read the Book of Enoch.

Everywhere you go where something outside of the NT is quoted--even if they KNOW the source--the Church actually LIES to cover it up. It is so easy to point to their cover-up. If you are a "Christian" Leader, you HAVE to lie, or else face the consequences. Too bad it is a requirement to lie to uphold the so-called "Christian" Tradition.

And anyone who takes Jude's side HAS to be labeled a "heretic" and treated with contempt. Some respect they have for truth. Some respect they have for the word. @lederereddy I see your point, but whatever my feelings about it, Michael DID rebuke the devil. According to Peter, they were in the presence of the Lord, so he said "The Lord rebuke thee." The Lord was to rebuke him and Michael knew his place. But this is not merely a mistake, Jude ought to follow 2 Peter, but it was separated from it by the three letters of John. There was and still is an active cover-up of this. The Church didn't want people to figure this out or think about it too much.

@lederereddy Being a Catholic, Enoch was always in my Bible. I recently stumbled up The Book of Jasher, which I read a little over half-way through. Jasher was mentioned in the scriptures in at least one place. I forget exactly where, but It was being regarded as a factual support for the speakers argument. As far as I read the Bible perfectly backed it up, however, as I said, I didn't read it all, but the book is very interesting...

@Victoreza I did a lot of reading and reflecting. I don't claim to be a Scholar, however. I find that by "not knowing" what other people "know," I don't get thrown off track. My "naive" way of seeing, I believe, allows me to penetrate further into the mind of God, Who uses the lowly, and those who "are not," to show up those who "are." I have nothing to boast of except for the fact that if God chooses the lowly and those who "are not," then at least I have those qualifications--in spades.

Thanks for the Audio Book of Enoch after my first read I was in my pool during the day and saw a dark circle in the sky.I was waiting for a word from the Lord to call me up (but I knew I wasn't ready)I fill like Ive found a lost treasure and cant seem to lay it down for long.Ive always tried to find the book of Enoch because Jude had quoted him.I even e-mailed Rabbis, it seems funny they dont even know who he is.Oh dont "trip" on the circle i saw:)God has away of letting me know im on the path.

Thank you very much for some clarification. As a God fearing man I have just recently, discovered Enoch and realize how much it is the inspired word of Revelations. There is so much more to understand such as Revelations 13:17-18 But to progress further and read Revelations 14:9-10. and then look at BAR CODES and see how they are created. since they cant sell it to us nor could we buy it without them, for it is a mans number 666

Wasn't what you were looking for? The Book of Enoch IS ancient, and it is FULL of mysteries. Hard to think of another more ancient and mysterious book. If religion isn't your cup of tea, then it isn't your cup of tea--nothing more or less than that. If you were to click on the link and listen to even the first minute of the book, you'd get a feel for just how mysterious this book can be!

@omniexistus Thats why they are still mysteries despite thousands of years of people searching for the answers. What you need to do is find all the pieces to the puzzle, decide which are true and which are not, ask for some sort of guidance while you do. Once all the pieces are there, you can start to put together the puzzle. As the pieces come together you see which ones fit and which ones dont. Look for patterns in mythology and religions and start there :)

Now, when Jude and Peter both allude to a book called the Assumption of Moses, they were taking lessons from it and applying them to their presentation of Christ. When Jude calls Enoch the "Seventh from Adam," that is at variance with what Biblical Scholars assert, that Enoch was written late, only a century or two before Jude wrote, whereas Jude evidently believed that this book was ANTEDILUVIAN in origin, and must have come over on the ark.

Again, we are not taught this, therefore we are at variance with what Jude believed. When Paul uses the "Armor of God" metaphor, we generally credit Paul for it, when it is demonstrably borrowed from the Book of Wisdom. Since Protestants have dismissed the book, they tend to hide this fact from people, and even study Bibles omit these kinds of facts from time to time.

When James says that in 4:5, "Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?" he is quoting something EXTRABIBLICAL as SCRIPTURE, which, like Jude, is evidence against those who teach something else. When the author of Hebrews, in 11:35 alludes to 2 Maccabees, as well as the Ascension of Isaiah, and we ignore them, then again, we are at variance with them. I just don't like to be at variance with the New Testament writers. To me it just seems wrong.

The bottom line is you can accept it on the basis of 2 OR 3 witnesses. Let's say you don't trust the apocryphal and Pseudepigraphal books. You think they are uninspired. Well, let's go even further and suppose that they actually were, and therefore could not be trusted. It doesn't change one simple and interesting fact, and that is that the New Testament writers didn't think of them as uninspired. Therefore we don't believe what THEY believed. We are therefore different from them in that regard.

The Book of Revelation apparently "ignorantly" quotes the Book of Enoch numerous times. Too bad the writers of the NT didn't know what you do. I would like to think they knew what they were talking about. I guess I'm a fool for believing them.

So what is this knowledge? Well, if Peter is defending Jude, speaking to questions of the authenticity of Jude AND ITS SOURCES, then immediately one wakes up to the fact that he has been LIED TO. This understanding allows people to "Snap out of it," so to speak. It breaks the spell. Whether one thinks of these books as inspired or not should not obscure the fact that the books of SECOND PETER and JUDE speak of them as SCRIPTURE and NO CHRISTIAN DENOMINATION IN THE WORLD AGREES WITH THEM.

Well, if He tells us exactly what will happen, and we not only let it happen, but MORE IMPORTANTLY, if we now, knowing the truth about what happened to these books at the hands of these infiltrators spoken of in Jude 4, then do nothing to correct it, then is God to be held accountable? God always warns us first, then He leaves clues for those who come after to undo the damage that was done. You can see warning after warning, throughout the New Testament about wolves in sheep's clothing, etc.

I don't know. What I do know is there are many prophets who's writing's tho sound, are not included. Even much of what David and Solomon wrote is not included. I'm certain, not everything Moses wrote was included.There is value in historical texts. But more in Christ's body.....

Think about Jude's quote: Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men saying, "Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints...."
Well, what else does it mean except that these men will still be in the Church AT THE LORD'S COMING! Yet knowing that these men are also to be judged out of the BOOK OF ENOCH, for it is OF THESE MEN THAT ENOCH PROPHESIED!
It is literally as if it will be said, "Bring me the Book of Enoch that I might judge them out of it!"

Since there is no other conclusion to draw EXCEPT THAT Jude thought of that prophecy as both Antediluvian and as CAPABLE OF CONDEMNING THOSE WHO WOULD BE IN POWER AT THE LORD'S COMING, that is more than just his USAGE of Apocryphal sources that makes Jude interesting, but his judgment that they ARE BOTH AUTHENTIC AND AUTHORITATIVE. I've even seen Bibles where Jude 14 & 15 are referenced back to Genesis INSTEAD OF The Book of Enoch. I will tell you something that you probably already know:

As for the Holy Men that you speak of. There was one NT writer that fulfills EXACTLY that function, and that is Simon (or Simeon) Peter.
Peter writes his entire second letter around the Book of Jude. Why? Because people raised all of the questions that Peter answered in Second Peter. Think about it, why would Peter include almost the entire letter of Jude in his second chapter? Could it be that that letter was what the rest of the document was all about?

All of his answers and insights and warnings and advice ALL HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH JUDE.
For example, 2Pet 1:20-21 reads, "KNOWING THIS FIRST, that NO Prophecy OF SCRIPTURE(!) is of any private interpretation. For the Prophecy came not IN OLD TIME: but HOLY MEN (Think Antediluvian Enoch, the writer of the Assumption of Moses, quoted by both Jude AND Peter) of GOD spake as they were moved by the HOLY GHOST.
All of this IMMEDIATELY FLOWS INTO THE JUDE MATERIAL.

People questioned the Authenticity of Jude's sources, so he answered their question: "KNOWING THIS FIRST, that NO Prophecy OF SCRIPTURE is of any private interpretation. See one of the questions they obviously asked him when they brought this letter up to him was, "Were these men's prophecies valid?"

Peter is saying that they were HOLY MEN of old (read Enoch the SEVENTH FROM ADAM), that their prophecies are SCRIPTURAL (An answer to the question that was asked, "Do they hold the weight of Scripture?") Peter even adds the emphasis here: "KNOWING THIS FIRST," so that anyone at all could see his main idea--his REASON FOR WRITING this letter in the first place, that NO Prophecy OF SCRIPTURE is of any private interpretation."
So we know that people were making their own assessments of these books.

See, so Peter was (AND STILL IS) the one who gives us the solution. He was given the KEYS to open or close the gates of Heaven. He strategy was this, answer all the questions in such a way that evil people could use them for evil purposes, and righteous men could use them for more noble purposes--i.e. to open up the gates of heaven by seeing the knowledge that he has imparted to us.

See, evil men noticed that Peter left out the Enoch prophecy, (although he didn't leave out the one from the Assumption of Moses, see Jude 9). This meant that the evildoers, the very men that Jude said Enoch's prophecy would judge, could use this as evidence that Peter was "watering Jude down." See, no Enoch prophecy, therefore Peter must have disapproved of apocryphal sources! It gave them the one tool they needed to get rid of it.

All the while, Peter was ensuring that not only would this mystery be preserved for people who would simply believe what he said over what the evildoers would say--which was in the thousands of years, just as he himself predicted. By including almost all of Jude, he ensured that Jude would be preserved as well. So it is their inability to understand what PETER IS SAYING IN THIS LETTER That LEADS TO THEIR INABILITY TO READ PAUL OR THE OTHER SCRIPTURES PROPERLY, and thus will lead the CHURCH into DESTRUCTION.

So let's recap: Jude uses Apocryphal sources in his defense of the faith that we are fighting for. (Could the faith we were fighting for be these books?!?)
Next, Simon Peter somehow sees this letter as something to write his own letter around. (Could this letter of Jude be too important to lose?!?!)
Therefore, everything MUST BE UNDERSTOOD AS PETER'S UNDERSTANDING OF THE BOOK OF JUDE, IT'S MESSAGE, IT'S FUNCTION AND ITS PURPOSE.

Peter wants to present us with the genuine APOSTOLIC TEACHING of the SAVIOR AND HIS DISCIPLES (2Pet 3:2-3) as opposed to the evil teachings that will come from those WHO WON'T TEACH YOU ABOUT THESE BOOKS.
He wants you to know that these books were handed by the Savior through his Apostles, but that people won't realize this until the end, because it is always "by way of REMEMBRANCE." We are to "RECALL the words of the PROPHETS."

We are to recall these books, in other words. "He is making the WORDS OF THE PROPHETS MORE CERTAIN." See how easy this all is when you have a "pure mind." (2Pet 3:1)
Peter makes us able to RESTORE THESE BOOKS. He literally gives us that power and expects us to USE IT. In 3:12 he even tells us to hasten the coming of the day of God--and what is the the sign of that day? That divine nature (1:4) AND the DAYSTAR that arises in our hearts (1:19).

See how he speaks of the "Power and the Coming " of our Lord Jesus Christ? (1:16)
We gain this knowledge (1:2)
Receive DIVINE POWER THROUGH THIS KNOWLEDGE (1:3)
And we OVERCOME THE WORLD AND ITS WAYS (1:4)
Then we are given a formula for how to keep this "knowledge" (1:5-8)
Then a formula for losing it (1:9)
NOW ALL YOU REALLY NEED TO KNOW IS THAT THIS LETTER IS ABSOLUTELY CENTERED AROUND JUDE. You must hold that Peter is defending this document in EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD. HE IS ITS CHAMPION.

Imagine that, Enoch is defended By Jude AS SCRIPTURE, and JUDE is defended by Peter, but The Early Church destroyed the Book in defiance of GOD'S WORD. They even went so far as to separate JUDE FROM PETER IN THE CANON.
THEY KNEW EXACTLY WHAT THEY WERE DOING--and we should have too. Why didn't anybody ever question it before? Why DOES the Church continue to BLASPHEME the HOLY SPIRIT by hiding the true mystery of the kingdom. Why shouldn't they be punished?

Actually, the verses you quoted were stern warnings that even though there are books of knowledge out there, we are to stick to the Scripture. Admitting they exist can hardly be taken as an endorsement. It was a warning. It could also have been the 'little book' that was sweet in John's mouth & bitter in his stomach.
God knows where EVERYTHING is supposed to be all the time. He knows when a sparrow falls to the ground & dies. Starting to sound apostate. Careful!!God Bless!!
