@HeyFeddie Sounds like a good idea. Last time i checked the 204 cant be loaded faster than factory ammo in handloads because of a special powder combo, That was a while ago though so you may wanna double check. And lucky you witht the DMPS! i cant hunt with semi autos in PA. Still gonna buy one though, its the next one on my list.
@HeyFeddie As with all firearms, a backstop is a key part in taking a safe and effective shot. You shouldnt worry with a 22-250 if your rounds are smacking into the dirt and your not shooting inline with the houses, just make sure its not an fmj or military type round. If you like your bullets in the Hornady 17HMR ammo, they have the same type of round available in th 22-250 and most other varmint calibers. They are great with immediate expansion. Hogs just "pop" open when you smoke um.
@cwhitedl65 Thanks for the advice. I have been looking at that .204 round. DPMS makes it in an AR platform. Very nice but very expensive. I may just take the step up to 22-250 instead.
as much as i love my .17HMR, i moved up in the world and picked up a 22-250 Remington Model 700. They explode when you lay down the wood. The seventeen's bullet just drifts too much in the damn wind out past 150. However, the .17 still is my go to squrriel, rabbit, and rat gun
@cwhitedl65 I have been thinking about moving up in caliber lately. I like the .17 because the bullet is fragile and there is little worry about ricochet. There are house in the area so I have to be careful. Would I need to worry about that with a 22-250?
@xxMRJUMPSHOTxx That's a great shot at that distance. I love hunting them. Hey, I just posted a new video. In fact, go to my channel. I have several there. Thanks for the view.
Man that was a BEAUTIFUL SHOT , and from the GRASSY KNOL ! LMAO
I've bagged 4 this summer. Think they're trying to colonize the pole barn out back. It's about 75 yards back and the remington 552 has been getting them. Only with precise head shots for me. Can't risk wounding them only to go in the pole barn, die and stink up the place. BUT....I'm on the fence as to upgrading to a.17HMR or a .22 Mag.
Learned to shoot in the Marine Corps. Defending wanna be gangstas like you, "RealestEver". Thugs and nobody's with no hope of anything better? That was a long time ago though. Now I am "the man" who holds you down. I don't have to raise my fist to make your life shit. I'll just deny you opportunity. So wear your armband and raise your arm to the sky. Nobody gives a fuck. Word.............
can't even touch your own kill with your own hands? HAHAHA what a fuckin pussy........ laser range finder... rofl learn to shoot ya redneck cousinfucker.
btw "the pink mist" is an allusion to a HEADSHOT, not a NECKshot
What make and model video camera did you use? How did you mount and then isolate the camera from the rifles recoil? When you touched of a round there was only a slight blur where the ground hog was out of focus for just an instant ... Great optic's! Tnx's for any infor.
Thanks for the compliment. I use a Canon Vixia HF11. Great little camera. I mount it to my scope using a rail and a cheap set of scope rings turned upside down. Look at my other video titled "Ground Hog Kill". At 1:05 I show the setup.
No wasted time on this video... Cristal clear video image's with ->great<- stop action camera work! That 17 HMR is a short range laser beam / death ray!
@VerdugoCityRider there pest they get into people gardens, dig holes into peoples holes, you know they destroy things, 1 isn't going to make a difference. to manny when there isn't many things to eat them, it isnt cruel fast death. kill em with my pellet gun, ate our lively hood. pest! You try living off a farm!
