The kids will have to be with the parents. Most places when they have extra "tags" (avaliable deer to kill) will give them to young hunters. Even if a kid has a tag they still have to go with their parents. And i'm sure one of the reasons for giving it to kids is that if you let anyone do it the whole deer population would be gone. Serious hunter could probably take out 8-12 deer in a long weekend with a large herd.
The city next to mine did something similar, only they hired 12 sharpshooters to sit in trees and pick off deer that went to a pile of corn that was bait. After three days of killing the deer the city cut 'em up and served venison for the next month or so at all its food centers.
Moletrap I think your commentarys were better if you stayed more focused on the game rather then getting sidetracked. I enjoyed the commentary, keep up the good work. I'd like to listen to what's going on in the game, not the deer population of where ever it is you live-ville
You should learn to make constructive criticism without coming across as insulting and agressive. E.G:
"Moletrap I think your commentarys were better if you stayed more focused on the game rather then getting sidetracked. I enjoyed the commentary, keep up the good work."
See how you don't come across as an ungrateful arsehole when you speak like that?
I cannot believe such a decision was even possible. Do they not realise that deer dying in the first place is the main problem and not the fact that cars are killing them? Just LOL...
That's because it's been done before. We did the deer thing in WA state about 15 years ago, when I was 12 or 14 or so. I didn't hunt myself, but it worked. Accidents were reduced by something like 40%, and not a single person was hurt (hunting incidents/injuries--at least those NOT involving Dick Cheney--are remarkably rare)
firstly thats a really dumb title to argue about, well at least for those who dont know what the hell are you talking about! anyway said that i can also say that yes if its exacly as you said - thats one of most redicilous laws/changes/whatever and even one of most un-ethical i've ever heard. From the global idea of saving animals and be nice to them AND be nice to our kids, they encourage those two to kill each other(well kill deers but still, kids suffer mental damage too ofc).
:DDDDD Lol dude that was hilarious, i wonder how drunk i was when i wrote it. It makes so little sense:)))) Now this post also doesnt make much more... What a stupid way to spend time omfg!!!!
there is a correlation between children abusing animals and then later on committing acts of violence against people as adults. While hunting isn't the most friendly thing to do to animals its not torture, there is a difference between shooting a deer and lighting a cat on fire.
makes sense to me, like in the mountains near my house they thought it would be a good idea to introduce mountain goats to the ecosystem and they bread like crazy so now we have to hunt them like crazy. Plus teaching kids gun safety now is a good idea.
moletrap you deserve a 5 on every video because of how awesome you are by trying to show us whats going down by pointing at your screen. Kudos man, Kudos
second amendment reads 'A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.'
you can own guns because in the event that some country invades the U.S. (was more of a threat back in 1791) it' was convenient to have people already armed. no part of that says people _should_ own guns, much less 'lets give every 13 year old an assault rifle'. the deer thing is an absolutely terrible idea, 'supervision' or no
12-17 year olds killing things, hmmm i wonder what there gonna bee like when there older, especialy the 12 year olds, and yes i think its a stupid idea
Everyone would be SUPERVISED by adults during the hunt. In fact I think that all kids 12-17 should have mandatory firearms saftey courses in school since its a constitutional right to own a firearm. I know you fucking retards on youtube are stupid, but you cant possibly think they are going to just release children with rifles into the woods unsupervised.
Not that I'm against gun safety classes but making them mandatory is just going to bring up arguements with parents and considering schools are already cutting "optional" classes like music and the like, getting them to offer more classes isn't likely as far as I can see. I mean many schools don't even offer driver's ed anymore and that's an even more everyday useful class.
The deer issue sounds pretty stupid at first, but I'd guess the real issue is deer overpopulation. Auto-deer collisions are hard to avoid and are at best a huge inconvenience, at worst dangerous.
PETA types are going to argue about prioritizing humans over deer, but that's life. Reintroducing predators is hardly different for the deer, and deer overpopulation is pretty terrible for the deer too.
The youth hunter thing does sound kinda stupid though. Maybe hunting is on the decline there?
they probably get tourists whom get upset when their cars get damaged is all. They should have a towing and car serivce station in town to take advantage of the free income
what would be your solution? they are killing deer to protect the people from accidents. The reason they are chosing kids is that if they let anyone then they would kill too many. kids hunting is not unusual, well except in cali.
Heaven forbid people drive responsibly and not hit the poor deer. Still, I realize people aren't going to do that, might as well just kill the other creature rather then take steps to deal with the problem in a way that might bother humans.
The funny part isn't the mass killing it the 12-17 idea. 12 year olds have no buissness being allowed the use of rifles regardless of state (not just in california). Issueing permits to adult hunters would have been a much smarter/more responsible idea.
In the evening, if a deer saunters onto a highway where the limit is 55, from heavy brush, there is no CHANCE you will avoid hitting it, regardless of how "responsible" you drive.
Of course, accidents happen. Even more accidents happen due to driver negligence (Talking on cell phones, not heeding animal crossing warnings, and so on...). Still I know I'm not going to win anyone over on that arguement, people in general would much rather take the easier more pro-human solution (and keep their 55 speed limit) then work on promoting other safe options.
How to pretend school massacres from happening? Yeah lets start with asking 12 year olds to get rid of the deer problem...

A very um.. American solution to a "problem"
Maybe the deer has some oil secreted about them selves as an added bonus to the sheer joy of killing things.

My girlfriend's father intentionally runs over animals when driving in the country. He'll swerve across the road to kill them.
He kills rabbits and foxes, which are huge pests in our area.

It's ridiculously funny to think about and describe, but won't it work? Shooting more deer=less deer to hit with a car?

That's silly. Are you implying that hunting as a child will make you more likely to harm people when you're older?
Perhaps you're not familar with, oh, any human history.

there is reasearches that corelates killing and hurting animals as a child with killing and hurting people as an adult.
