It would have taken at least 65 seconds for the north tower to collapse. What was wrong with the lower half of the towers? if the top part fell off, they would be holding less weight, and would be less likely to collapse. Even if they did collapse because of structural failure, why did it all happen at the same time, unlike other building fires, in which case, bits gradually fell off. If the towers stood for 30 minutes, why would they collapse after one or two hours, AFTER which the lower halves of the towers would have been almost completely evacuated.
You're not taking into consideration the level of damage inflicted on the towers. They were designed to survive an impact from a 707 lost in the fog. Smaller plane and slower speed, its not the same scenario. And even so, there is still no way to know for sure if those calculations would truely hold unless tested full scale.
The towers were hit by larger planes, flying balls to the walls, used as weapons. So stop comparing it to the 707 scenario when they are completely different situations.

Buckling is where the columns themselve stay relatively intact, but twist or bend at the point they are tied, end to end, together with bolts, BIG BOLTS.
It's the way that steel frame buildings fail, as at Madrid, and at Bijlmermeer.
Steel frame buildings are weakest where the steel is tied together. That's why the primary failure points that NIST points to are the attachments points of Joists (floor elements) to the core, and to the external columns.
The mecanism that destruyed the core is called buckeling. the core was conected to the outside walls by the floors wich keept it from buckeling. When the heat from the multi level ofice fires weakened the floor supports the floor gave way creating the dust. Then the damaged core gave way benduing outward and snapped. The debree from the core fell on the floors below overloading them to breaking point forcing the outside walls to collapse outward. And ultimatly down.
It will happen at about the same acceleration as a freefall.
When the enormous mass falls on the floors inside the momentum will carry it thru the floor without slowing the fall down.
If you have plenty fo glass panes you can test this principle. if you build a tower with panes of glass spaced together and drop a rock so it breaks the first pane it will travel thru all the panes.

The towers weren't imploded. When the nist model shows the central columns still standing. The central columns were tied together so wouldn't have to be "balanced" to remain standing.

The weight of the falling section compared to the amount of weight the lower intact floors could support is roughly the same as the weight of a car compared to the weight my arm can support. That's why the collapse happened so quickly; the lower intact floors couldn't offer much resistance.

Besides, large wind gusts hitting the entire mass of the building caused more force than that plane strike, that's an absolute fact. Add to that a very cool fire, gauged at 70-100C 15 minutes after impact by thermogenic photography, you've got no case pal.

@FreddyBone17: I watched that documentary before 9/11 as well as the construction of the Sears tower. 2 things, 1. The core would remain standing, 2. It would have taken at least 65 seconds for the north tower to collapse. Even if the towers fell in 30 seconds, which nobody can argue that it took longer than that, you are left with 35 seconds of drop time that never happened. Also, how did a squib appear in the lower 3rd of the South Tower if they were air locked btwn 3 buildings?

The cuts in the beams were part of the demolition process.......after the towers fell. The fact is HUNDREDS of engineers and others spent thousands of hours evaluating the towers, I trust them more than some crackpots looking for attention.

What was wrong with the lower half of the towers? if the top part fell off, they would be holding less weight, and would be less likely to collapse. Even if they did collapse because of structural failure, why did it all happen at the same time, unlike other building fires, in which case, bits gradually fell off. If the towers stood for 30 minutes, why would they collapse after one or two hours, AFTER which the lower halves of the towers would have been almost completely evacuated.

You're not taking into consideration the level of damage inflicted on the towers. They were designed to survive an impact from a 707 lost in the fog. Smaller plane and slower speed, its not the same scenario. And even so, there is still no way to know for sure if those calculations would truely hold unless tested full scale.
The towers were hit by larger planes, flying balls to the walls, used as weapons. So stop comparing it to the 707 scenario when they are completely different situations.

Buckling is where the columns themselve stay relatively intact, but twist or bend at the point they are tied, end to end, together with bolts, BIG BOLTS.
It's the way that steel frame buildings fail, as at Madrid, and at Bijlmermeer.
Steel frame buildings are weakest where the steel is tied together. That's why the primary failure points that NIST points to are the attachments points of Joists (floor elements) to the core, and to the external columns.

The mecanism that destruyed the core is called buckeling. the core was conected to the outside walls by the floors wich keept it from buckeling. When the heat from the multi level ofice fires weakened the floor supports the floor gave way creating the dust. Then the damaged core gave way benduing outward and snapped. The debree from the core fell on the floors below overloading them to breaking point forcing the outside walls to collapse outward. And ultimatly down.

It will happen at about the same acceleration as a freefall.
When the enormous mass falls on the floors inside the momentum will carry it thru the floor without slowing the fall down.
If you have plenty fo glass panes you can test this principle. if you build a tower with panes of glass spaced together and drop a rock so it breaks the first pane it will travel thru all the panes.

That is probably not enough expertise. What is actually needed in this case is finger pointing and denying official expertise with big authority. I did bring the collapse videos with me to New York, but there was no way to project them at the time.
The videos were added in appropriate places to my talk during the creation of the conference DVD, but I had no input or contact with the people making it. It was months before it arrived, and I had given up on ever seeing it.
If I had been asked I would not have approved the use of 'MIT engineer' or 'research scientist' to describe myself. There is more about this question on my web site.

Almost correct Edgeman - it was a joint Bio/EE degree program put together by faculty with joint MIT EE Dept. and Harvard Med School positions. A year or two later it evolved into the Biomedical Engineering Dept., but at the time the closest thing was a joint Bio/EE degree.
As for the "MIT Engineer" title, it was added to the video without my knowledge. The '04 talk had no videos, only PowerPoint slides, so it was all added: titles, collapse videos, stills. None of that was part of the talk.

And no, what he says is not based on any kind of sound physics. He states that "steel maintains most of it's strength right up to melting point". For that incredibly stupid statement alone MIT should revoke his degree.

The 9/11 Commission is also just theories. Ground Zero was never investigated as a crime scene, all the "evidence" in the reports is purely hypothetical. Even the 9/11 Commission didn't have an explaination for the "squibs" so i guess you'd better call the White House and make sure they know what they really were (despite there being absolutely NO evidence of your theory being correct).

To my knowlage no one have imploaded a tower high as the WTC, noor droped a concrete block from that hight, so I beleve the official theory, if the fire makes the floors above to collapse onto the floor below to the point the flor below collapses due to the overload, what makes you think the floor below that will cope with the strain?
And when there are no floors keeping the center colloms balanced upright they fall, and beccause we cant see them we cant see how they fall.

The towers weren't imploded. When the nist model shows the central columns still standing. The central columns were tied together so wouldn't have to be "balanced" to remain standing.

The weight of the falling section compared to the amount of weight the lower intact floors could support is roughly the same as the weight of a car compared to the weight my arm can support. That's why the collapse happened so quickly; the lower intact floors couldn't offer much resistance.
