Definitely, here is the real influence behind "The Fly"ing Bono phase.
At least, its good to know that when U2 dropped the "world saviour" posture of the 80s and finally decided to have fun toying with rock n roll iconics in the 90s, they drew inspiration from the punk/post punk bands of the late70s.
