Figure out that you paid close to 10-15 thousand dollars more than i dunno say a Yaris which uses little gas. now calculate how much money you saved remembering that you have to spend gas in the other car too so on every 20$ of gas you're only getting an extra 5 dollars worth it takes years to get back that "saved" money

Show me proof of widespread accidents with deaf/blind people and electric cars. We already have enough noise pollution, we don't need cars that make more noise than before. Plus, if I get a car with any "fake engine sound" you can bet your ass I'll be disabling that the first day I get the car.

That's awful... we should be moving in the way of QUIETER vehicles, causing less fossil fuel pollution AND less noise pollution.
There must be other ways for blind people to avoid cars crashing into them - oh wait, how about the drivers pay attention when driving a car! Or how about they wait for a pedestrian crossing to tell them when they can cross. Whether it's a fossil fuel car or an electric car you'll still get run down if the drivers ignore the lights in any case.
This is dumb.

@jkaplonek The engine noise is to reassure a blind person that the vehicle has come to a complete stop. People like you or me that can see would be able to see if a car has stopped whether is makes noise or not. I'm not saying is an ingenious idea, but it's a safety thing. Maybe making the vehicle only make the sound when it's at a complete stop seems more reasonable rather than putting them at risk completely, and possibly have it sound more like a real engine, rather than this gay crap...lol
