Amazing book, just finished it. Robert Heinlein was a genius. This book should be prescribed reading material for the public school system. Abyine who's interested in a holistic world and the concept of 'a real truth' should really get this book. All I can say is that it is amazing and really gives one something to grok... love it, brilliant concept.
Stranger in a Strange Land is a very spiritual book disguised as Science Fiction. I read it in the early 70s (yeah, I'm an old granny) and the concepts I gleaned from the book have sent me on a spiritual quest my entire life. Good for you for discovering this wonderful book of illumination.

I consider the bible to be more of an allegorical account of history. I don't believe the bible word for word, but I do believe it uses metaphors to recount a history of a people. You can't have a literal interpretation of the bible, that's just silly.

Yeah, my issue is taking some of the stories of genocide and other craziness and adding "But behold! it was ok because god told them so."
