  • I seem to be the only person on the planet who doesnt like tattoos. They look so cheap and common and I find them such a turn off on women.

  • @rodster6 Wrong. There are millions of us. It's just that our views are suppressed and our comments removed from tattoo vlogs. 20 years ago, tattoos were widely regarded as self-mutilation, and everybody thought they looked cheap & tacky on women. Now, when a 16 year old girl uploads her "first tattoo" vlog - a generic off-the-wall slag tag she describes as "meaningful", we get roundly criticised for questioning her motives - which is why tattoos keep getting bigger, uglier & more visible.

  • i can't draw.

i mean i can draw big heads on stick bodies, but not like actual art.

when i get my tattoo i will probably ask them can they draw it for me.

i know what i want. i just can't draw it.

(i hope that makes sense. it's early and i'm kind of sleepy. yeah.goodnight...er...morning)

  • Ever hear of video editing? It's so the audience doesn't suffer through your fucking stuttering.

  • YOU SOUND LIKE YOU'RE FROM LONDON

  • @paradiddlenightmare hahah forgetting sarah marshal

  • hahahahaha I wasn't sure if anyone would get that haha

    Okay monster man!

  • @paradiddlenightmare lmao that movie is hilarious

  • how do you always manage to make me hungry???

  • i dont agree...if one tattoo means something and they want it..then they want something different that means something to them they should do it.

  • i agree, people should have tattoos they designed for them

  • I'm gonna get a tattoo of a chicken eating a monkey taking a crap.

  • have the tattoo artist do a original tattoo

  • cool, i want a tattoo just like your's but next to a different body part ;-)

  • my boyfriend in tennesse got a tattoo of my name and when he broke up w/ me b/c i was moving back to london and i sat there and laughed cause hes never gonna get my name off his arm.

  • that is such a bitchy ... yet ... funny thing to say XD

  • i really agree with this, the first tattoo i got was a rip off of the tattoo racheal got on friends, heart on the hip, but in black. i love it but i wish it was more personal to me.

i sooo glad i designed my second tat a tribal inspired butterfly not telling wear it is incase people steal the idea lol i got it coz my dad used to call me butterfly when i was little

i love your tattoo by the way it's gorgeous. pinkie swear i won't copy lol

  • only if the other people where GOOD friends

  • she is cool

  • the rosary on the ankle and foot. very much over done.

  • I draw my tattoos out before i get them, never picked them off a wall or book. But i will say they don't all have to mean something, all they should be is custom made for, then you have something nobody else has.

  • i kinda agree with you.. but then there are some stuff where i disagree?? like if someone takes one of the wall and if u like it then u can take that one.. lyk i hav a star but my frend got the same one n i dnt mind at all.. it might sound weird but its something that we both understand.. but anyway.. gd opinion though :)

  • H&M fan! I have that shirt ^-^

I only have the one tattoo so far, but it means a lot to me, it's a treble clef and a little red heart. I don't think I'll ever regret it, just because it actually has a meaning.

  • I walked into a tattoo shop and spent an hour looking through the designs they had, picked one and got it done there and then - I've never regretted it since :]

  • your a fucking hot english girl

  • when i went to get my first tattoo, i talked with the tattooist alot about this thingy here. He thinks it's stupid when people get tattoos, piercings etc just for getting one. I'm the only one in the worl to have this pic on me and i love it more than anything, coz the symbol means so many things to me. And it makes me feel safe. <3

  • Is that tatoo marking the spot where the brainchip is supposed to go?

  • I have one. I designed it by myself, based off of something I saw on the internet lol.

  • so many people think tattoos are just to look cool. those people are wrong. if someone wants to get inked let them. let them get whatever they want. who cares if they regret it?? what's life without making mistakes?? if someone wants something off the wall then let them go for it. kat von d has the most random ink i have ever seen. she has "buff n stuff" on her knee! as long as you like it and are ready for a tattoo then by all means, ink up.

  • we aLways have Laser :)

  • omg, you look like michelle from SKINS

    in this video!

  • your fit but i waste of five and a half mins infront of the camera

  • i have seen that tattoo a few times actually alot of ppl doodle the same thing so you tatt isn't really original other then u r named after the flower

  • This is the main reason for that, i know some with big ones on there arms and there nice people but they look pretty gay/moles but it does'nt bother me, as long as your good hearted. It's society to blame, the diff between a tattooed person & a non tattooed person is, a tattooed person does'nt care if you have one or not.

  • Alot of woman/ladies get small roses, rose buds on stems, little blue birds holding string with a heart attached. That's mainly because they want a tatt but a small tasteful one & where they can be hidden.

  • Hmmmm your a good sort but BUT what the FUCK are you dribbling about, i have 6 and have never seen someone with the same and they were off the wall. You say that if you are at a party and someone had the same it would "be like weird/bizzar... crap, if you have the same and the tatt is cool, then YOU BOTH made a good choice. Anyway as i said your a good sort

  • to be totally honest what the fuck are you babbling on about, this is shit

  • Your name is Briany?

  • opinions. opinions. well what to say. i picked something off the wall and i do regret it. i am having it covered with a nautical star which is also off a wall.

  • so no lesson learned then?

  • not necesarily, i should have worded my comment better i guess. i regret the flower i picked off the wall but sometimes i do like it. it is the only one i go back and forth with. i was trying to say that SOME things (like a nautical star) can be picked off the wall and it is okay. i have a dove that i picked off the wall and i absolutely adore it. the flower i regret was a VERY spontaneous decision that i should have thought more about. atleast i will take my time considering a good coverup.

  • yeah you better. or else....

  • or else what buddy??? you're going to find me and haunt me?? what a weido.

  • real mature asshole.

  • asshole, clear + offensive. good insult my friend. im in awe of your creative mind

  • me too

  • i wasn't going to reply but then i thought, "what the hell" first off how do you know i have made bad tattoo choice(s)?? you have never seen my ink. i have ONE that i maybe should have thought longer about. get over it. i have. secondly i have amazing tits that you will never have the pleasure of seeing OR touching. so please stop talking to me.

  • i personally have tattoos and love tattoos, but i really dont like the saying "I wanna get a tattoo". mainly just because i think its missing the whole point of the 'self expression' as it is called.

you should love the image and meaning before 'tattoo' even enters your mind, otherwise just wanting a tattoo 1. you will more then likley regret it, 2. it wont mean half as much as u make it out to mean, and 3 its just a choice of fashion...and fashions come and go.

  • if you don't like tattoos fine, don't get them. we aren't forcing you to get them or like them. meanwhile, leave us be to enjoy our own self expression. how dull would it be if we were all alike? i personally can't stand judgemental people who try to impose their views on others. so mind your own ya wankers! and this video is pointless and rambling!! bloody hell make your point!!

  • people who get tattoos are making their body to make it theirs

  • reply to jessequintanna........you say, a person who gets a tattoo is destroying there natural body?? wot....so you havent even pierced your ears? witch is changing your natural body?

  • Oh yeah, aren't thick, black rimmed glasses on a "creative" girl cliche too?

  • I'm not trying to be judgmental, but I'm going to judge this video to be a bit rambling, thoug I suppose that makes this video fit with the theme of incoherence all of your videos have.

  • i agree...having the same tattoo as a million other people, or cliched, is totally contradictary.

  • Nice video, thanks.

    tattoos dot netplusprofit dot com

  • You're too complicated. Just follow your heart, some people get designs because they have strong emotions, associations or memories with it, even if the logo wasn't self-designed, big deal. Just do what you think is right and don't worry so much.

  • personally i just dont like tatoo's =]

  • my friend who is just 13 got a tattoo of the heartagram and thought that if you're going to get a tattoo when you're so young then you should at least get something original..

  • I definetely agree about the rose on the ankle, blech

but I love tatoos on the lower back even though so many people have those

  • i have 3 tattoos

1: sparrow .. it symbolises freedom

2: dragon.. it symbolises my heritage. and i love them

3: armoured unicorn head for head strong

im gonna get more.. but it can be random as long as it looks pretty

  • Yep, i totally agree that people should get tatoo's that no one else has!! i hate that lol

  • is there anywhere in the u.k where a 16 year old can get a tattoo? i only want a small one ( bout 3cm sq ) will no tattoo parlour do it, even if i get my mum to come along?

  • it should be ok if you bring your mum.. she has to give her concent.. go take ur mum some time and ask

  • i will tattoo u bring a needle or a blade and i canget some ink.. pffff :p but seriously wait for two years you may change your mind and come up with a more awesome idea.

  • some tattoo places will do them but its generally the shittier places where they aint got much to lose if they are sued or it comes out shit. ive wanted tattoos for about 4 years but im gonna wait a year till im 18 and then get them profesionaly done. but the again i want my whole shoulder and biceps done custom

  • ye i think ure idea is best, wait till im 18 and get whatever the fuck i want :) .

  • I have lots of tattoos and I designed all of them, you weren't being judgemental or preaching, I totally agree with what you're saying. I imagine you realise that tattoo art IS an art, since you have one, but becoming a copy and paste takes the artistic liscence out of it. I just wrote an 8,000 essay on the smybolic meanings within tattoo imagery, and although one image can mean different things to different people, alot of the meaningless stuff used as tattoos means nothing symbolically.

  • I liked it when she picked wax from her ear at 3:54 and then wiped it off her fingers!

  • I DONT AGREE

  • GAWSH...its just a blog people! Dont be so mean.

  • Dumb people: do something that takes some brains. No wait, that's why you're dumb. OK, forget it. Ink yourselves to death. Really. Kids are starving in India. Your tatoo will really make a difference in the world. Wow. How cool.

  • Get real moron.

  • Get a tatoo, moron.

  • shes got a tatoo...

  • WOW...what a bitch :)

  • The tatoo FAD (yes, that's what it is if you're too f*ing dumb to figure it out), the tatoo FAD of the past 15 years or so is just the dumbest ass thing that has come along since the pet rock. No, wait, the pet rock idea was brilliant. Tatoos = a ready-made analogy, i.e., your individuality is only skin deep.

  • Seriously tattoos are art. If I was really familiar with an artist's work and was really confident with their ability, I would totally let them freehand something on me. Someplace like my back of course, I can't have visible tattoos in my profession. For a lot of people the tattoo doesn't have to have meaning for them personally. I've seen some beautiful freehand stuff by some amazing artists. The artist comes first, then the tattooing.

  • Preach on! I personally hate it when people get tattoos to try and look cool. Seriously if you want to be an individual DON'T GET INKED! But if you are gonna do it, get something that means something TO YOU!

  • oh my god take your sweater back to h&m, get rid of the emo glasses and SHUT THE FUCK UP.

  • I watched exactly 60 seconds and couldn't take any more of this chick rambling on.

    Absolutely pointless video.

  • stop talking to yourself you fucking slut

  • I agree, my theme is butterfly :) I only got one but i want more :) But not too much.

  • ergh i hate this video. why do i take so long?! GET TO THE POINT!

  • Hehehe, you make good point though, and nice tattoo, one question, why's it behind your ear? Bit of an odd place to have a tattoo done isn't it???

  • i have a tattoo i designed myself, but how likely is it that you are going to bump into someone with the sam tat if you got it off the wall? i like you....but you just lost some brownie points :( ha

  • You have a tattoo??? I never saw that coming. LOL A relevant tattoo at that. Brilliant. I'm not cool enough to get a tattoo. I can't make decisions that are so permanant. I'd probably design something, love it to bits.. then wake up in the morning and think, "What is this hideous thing doing on my spine?"

  • btw, i like your shirt and your tattoo

if i'm going to have a tattoo someday (i don't know if i am), i would also take one, i drew myself

  • NO! dont get tattoos I hate all mine Im going to get them blacked out.

  • What about getting a tatoo of someone getting a tatoo?!!

  • I love being unique so I myself have done the same as you. My tattoo is a piece of music which I wrote. I took a bar of it and had it placed, at the time a not so common area, below the belly button about to my pubic bone. I choose that particular area due to the fact that if I choose anyone to see it they can otherwise it's a piece of me and not all of myself is exposed to people everyday. I would love to see why you choose the area you did for your tattoo.

  • hahhaha!!! my friend edd gets anything you tell him, he has 2 smuffs fucking on his knee then anime and my name on his foot and more anime :P

  • hmm...a flower, when you showed it I thought it was the star of david remade into a kite.

  • how about the Union Jack across your forehead

  • I agree. It's seems strange to me that someone would walk into a tattoo shop and choose something off the wall. Tattoos last forever and why wouldn't someone want to spend the time to think about it and choose something ahead of time? Obviously not everyone is creative and not everyone can draw, but at least pick something beautiful that represents you personally and has significance.

  • My tattoo was off the wall but altered to suit me. I am not very good at art but i finally knew what i wanted (it took me 3 years to decide) but couldnt design it my self. I went to the tattoo parlour and the owner (someone i know) pointed a few things out that were similar to what i had in mind and then i picked one and we sat down and made the alterations on paper. BTW my tat is a small seahorse on my stomach. Its usually covered up but i can see it when i want to.

  • Wonderful Tattoo I agree with you. The should be personal to the individual all mine have been cutomly designed for me by My Tattoo artist. Each one represents a period or moment in my life.

  • When you said "bespoke" I think I fell in love with you! :-) Your accent is quite attractive.

  • tattoo's are personal and should be something that takes alot of consideration to make a decision to have it done, i dont have any tattoos (yet) but then i still have the option to get one later in life when im more mature to make the choice for me

  • If you want to be unique and standout, don't get a tattoo. Keep your scars on the inside.

  • Love the tatoo, i agree, art is personal and anything emblazoned on your body for life should reflect something meaningful. In highschool i tatooed "Blind Faith" on my knuckles with a knife and india ink, like most bright ideas of that nature, it didn't work very well, but i still have a 'D' on the lower part of my right pinky....

  • holy crap. i seriously was not expecting the tattoo to be behind your ear! thats wicked cool.

  • Sine you got the tattoo, have you ever dreamed of a flower growing out of your ear canal?

  • i love your sweater

  • How could you not have seen one of Nick's videos yet? He is such a great vlogger.

Anyway, what an intriguing spot to place a tatoo. That way, you won't have to look at it everyday. Plus, the shot when you removed your glasses and showed it to us was one of my favourite scenes on YouTube of all time. Take it from someone who's watched more than 13 thousand videos.

  • the favorite spot I have seen a tatoo, was when I went to church. one of the sisters there had a tatoo at her ankle. tho I tried to get as close as possible, I couldn't recognize the motiv. maybe I get a grip and go for a crawl next time. Its so timewasting to be always this curious, thinking bout her ankles. strange. ;D

  • btw, your tatoo is totally enrapturing! never thought you have one! Are tatoos fragile? or do they bleach out 40 years later?

I wonder if the Tatoo Aeric spoke about is this charming too!?

  • but, to be honest, I don't care about tatoos at ankles or pierced tongues. just important that you have some inner values you can't sticker yourself with. cheerio.

  • generally spoken, women with tatoos are called maneaters.

  • you had a great signoff a few weeks ago. "shit. yeah. bye." -- coin it while you still can :)

  • I agree and I have first hand experience. I got a tattoo of Felix the Cat on my calf when I turned 18, and I wish I took the time to come up with something on my own instead of picking something out of a book. I've never seen a tat behind the ear before. I'm willing to bet thats on the top ten list of most painful places to get a tat.

  • Hey see your point kinda, i have a few tatt's but only one i've designed, i beleive that people place to much importance in thing's like that though.

My first tatt was a spur of the moment thing and that's the way i like it, i have free hand tatt's from a mate who is a tattoo artist that i have no creative input in at all, your skin is just a canvas to wear somebody else's artwork is an honor, but that's just me.

  • Not to be horribly strange or stalker-ish, but when you took off your glasses and showed your tattoo, it was (inexplicably) very sensual... I watched it a couple of times, actually. *sheepish grin* Sorry if that's me being a creepazoid, but it's true.

  • Your talking about not having a sign-off is almost becoming a uniquely "PaperLillies" sign-off of it's own.

My tatoo's totally generic, I'm sure 1000's of people have the exact same one, and I don't care at all, for me it's more about the reasons I went for that design than the actual image itself.

  • I knew this girl in college, she was about to be married that summer and was interested in finding a song to be played at her wedding.

When I went with her to the music shop she requested from the clerk "cds that had wedding songs" on them.

I asked her why didn't she choose something herself that had special meaning to her & the bride to be but she had no answer. I thought, how sad this was.

    I

  • you got tattoos behind your ear-i never seen a person who has done that.

  • could you design one for someone else? or course you would get paid.

  • I hate tattoos. They seem cool when you're drunk, and the next morning you wake up and you're all like Oh shit, but then you're stuck with them forever. They're a lot like people really. I hate people. If I ever got a tattoo, it would have to read I HATE TATTOOS in big blackletter writing, but then people would think I'm an idiot, which I'm so not.

  • that had to hurt!

(i want a tattoo of a butt, on my butt!)

    ((Beavis & Butt-head)) ; )

  • As long as the tattoo has somekind of meaning.Go for it!Otherwise...forget it!Great advice.I want a shark tattoo cus I love sharks and the ocean.

  • OMG!!! 29th comment! LOLZ! UR H0TttT!!!1!11oneoneone!

Seriously, though ... a buddy of mine told me he'd get ANY tattoo as long as I paid for it. As soon as I save up enough to take him up on this, I plan on making him get a pink bunny praying on his stomach with the words "THUG LIFE" written in Olde English lettering above it. It'll be money well-spent the way I see it.

  • No! Get his to get a tattoo of your face!

  • On his face.

  • the main reason why i've never gotten a tattoo is because i would just get sick of seeing the same thing on me everyday. maybe if it were possible to have an ever revolving door of tattoos, then maybe i'd look into it! lol!

it's cool how you picked your own artwork though. you can't get anymore original than that.

  • That's the reason i had it somewhere i can't see it!

  • I've got to agree with you there.

When I got my labret done, I was looking at the example designs on the walls and just couldn't imagine getting any of them done. While there was talent there, there was such a lack of creativity.

Tattoos should have meaning, not just be there "to look cool" or "to be unique." I never understood why people would do that.

  • A good point, another issue I would raise id the time element as well. At 20 you can get away with a megadeath tatoo, and I am sure it would be an interesting talking point with your perspective partners parents and then your kids but by the time you are queuing for your pension you really have ggot some explaining to do (and of course not you personally) I'd be tempted to go for the barcoding if it got me through the airpirt queue faster

  • I've always wanted to get a tatt but it would have to be my own creation, otherwise you might as well see how much Burger King would pay to have their logo tattooed on.

  • I really like you shirt!

Coming up with a good signoff can be tricky. You should write down a list of possible signoffs - even if they are really cheesy - and just go down the list, using a different one at the end of each video. Eventually one of them will feel really natural, and you can use that. See ya!

  • The only tattoo I have ever seriously considered getting is a tattoo from one of my favorite books. The thing is I would want to get it is on my front left forearm andI'm not quite sure I want a tattoo in such an open spot. On the one hand it would be cool cus not many people would know what it was unless you had read the book but on the other hand my friends who already have tattoos have told me that once you get a tattoo in a really visible spot no one ever looks at you the same again.

  • Jesus I fucked that post up! You can barely understand what I'm rambling on about, I should have read it before I clicked post. lol

  • Lol, I hate it when that happens.

  • I could never get a tattoo picked off a wall or just some random tattoo of something that didn't matter to me. My friend is actually thinking about getting a tattoo, He's been asking everyone what they think he should get and when he asked me I said to make sure he get something that means something to him and that isn't something everyone else has like a Japanese word or barbed wire around your arm. He originally was thinking about getting a Japanese symbol but I talked him out of that.

  • I drew up two of my dads tats one is of mickey mouse on a cliff with merlins hat on and hes shooting fireworks from a wand. . my dad surprised me and put my name in the fireworks lol and the other one was three dolphins jumping over the moon a mom a dad and a baby and for my mom i drew this awesome butterfly with our initials in it and the scorpio symbol we are all born within 7 days of eachother in October :P I'm rambling sorry

  • Dana Scully...

  • Actually...didn't Dana Scully get a tattoo in one of those episodes?

  • Yes she did. A great episode. Very erotic. cYa! Don.

  • I remember watching that vlog by Nicktendo a while ago now, although this topic seems to come up about every couple of weeks on YouTube - a bit like the haters vlogs!

Anyway I agree, I'd only get a tattoo if it was something original and I'd probably want to design it myself.

btw I heard a stat the other day claiming that in the UK more women than men have a tattoo.

  • I might suggest "I love JunkmanJim" tattooed in large letters. You pick the spot of course, maybe on your neck would look nice. I can work up a design if you wish, in sort of a rubbishy font. At least think about it, if you do it first, I will get Paperlilies on me, lol.

  • You slick charmer you!

  • It'd have to be her neck, since Bryony's already got "Aeric Winter is my God" tatooed on her butt cheeks.

Oh wait, that was in my dreams.

  • Aeric, why I didn't really understand, do you dream about her asre or your tatoo named on it? :D

  • How much did that hurt? I heard tattoos near bone are the most painful. Very original tattoo.

  • You are never incoherent.

Just do the two fingered salute sign off. It works for me. :)

  • Didn't that tatoo hurt? Being right on the skull and all.

    I like it though :)

  • Yeah. Why become an unpaid walking advertisement for some commercial TV show? *shudders*

Tasteful tatoo, Bryony. I don't think I've ever put those two words together in a sentence before. :-)

  • I agree. I have two tattoos, wanting a third, and they so far have a celtic design and have solid and deep symbolism to me. :)

  • Some people just dont give a damn and will ethc anything into their body. Its seems kind of lame being a billboard for other people's artwork.

  • I have a foodog tattoo from the wall. I would bet that nobody on this earth has it too. It's pretty mean looking.

Behind the ear tattoos are nice. Private, yet attainable in a whisper.

  • Nice spot for the Tattoo, looks great. How much did that hurt because that is a sensitive area?

  • unusual place for a tattoo. If I ever got one it would have to be my own design too, not some crappy generic thing, pretty pointless that really.

  • I dont have any tatoos simply because i cant seem to pick a design for more than 5 days and not change my mind! loved yours, very delicate!

  • interesting, i've got a few (5) tattoos myself, i thought about doing a vid showing and explaining them (some have a pretty long explaination for its meaning), just been waiting for the right time to do the vid, i guess after this i'll prolly do one tomorrow (might respond it here if that's ok) i think in a few of my vids my tats are visible, can't remember which and not gonna post a url here cuz i don't wanna be 1 of those guys who coments and posts urls of their vids

  • Nice Tat Bryony. I think it suits you well.

  • I have two tattoo's, both of butterflies! So I have a theme going. I want to change the color of one of them and it's so tiny so its possible for me to do. I love your name, I like odd names. I guess since I have such an odd name as well. =)

  • I completely agree with you about generic tattoo art. To me tattoos are something very personal and permanent (duh), that I feel should be unique and have strong personal significance. Once I figure out exactly what I want it to say, I'm going to get a tattoo about writing or being a writer, because it is such a huge part of me and I know I will still cherish it when I'm old and wrinkled.

  • SO I understand where you're coming from, aethetically speaking, but it's people's body and they really shouldn't have to adhere to anyone's ideals. It's like someone saying everyone had to wear yellow shirts and nothing else.
