I wish I could be of help, but there was no information regarding side men at all, just the headliners, of course. Sounds like it is a good chance that this recording is what you are looking for. Can you match a photo with the film? Good luck.
Saucerblock - when you bought the original film, did it by any chance tell you who the members of the Chordmen (at 8:00 in this piece) were? My grandfather was in a group based out of Chicago during this time period called the Chordmen and they performed with Lawrence Welk and others and we were hoping to find a recording of them. Thanks!!
This program aired on the DuMont Television Network. Considering that their entire programming archive was destroyed in the mid-70's, this is pretty rare stuff, thanks for uploading!
Thanks for putting this video up. Bill Bailey was my girlfriend's father, so it's pretty neat for her to see this. He passed away a few years ago, so again, thanks for the video.
1953- it was a TV show, I bought the original film and transcribed it. The steel guitar player is neither Bobby Koefer nor Roy Ayers, I wish someone knew....

Great footage. Has to be one of the first Fender Telecasters. I seen Tennessee Ernie Ford too!

This video is crazy. I was wondering if there was anyway I could download this video to use for a band tour dvd I'm trying to make.
