  • We call it the f88 Ausstyre in australa and its not that cracked up to be. Its actually a garbidge weapon i've fired it, my 22. has more recoil

  • Is the AUG's magazine unique to this gun or is it interchangeable with a AR-15?

  • @ryantwiggsmith909 You can't use ar15 mags in the AUG.

  • @TheMadCrumpet can you stick an AUG mag in a AR-15?

  • @ryantwiggsmith909 No they don't fit. Perhaps somebody manufactures adaptors to allow for ar mags in an AUG, but i'm not sure.

  • the looks remind me of a mini M95

  • .." in the united POW! .. "

  • "it's in service with a lot of countries, I'm glad it's back in the United States"........Steyr guy: "It's in service for up to right now 64 countries"....pause.....Shooting range guy: "So if your looking for something a litte...... XDXD

  • @DramaticGnome1210 i thought he was weird

  • Small per pee

  • i'm from austria :D

  • "one of the most famous semi auto rifles" better to have an option for full damn that 1986 law

  • Anybody know is this is legal in New York? I want to get one to add to my collection but legally :-) Thanks

  • 0:45 that's what she said...

  • hes austrian... his english sucks xD

  • @boogieman221thx richtig wasd sogst xD

  • Am I the only one who finds the regular appearance of the AUG to be absolutely repulsive? I prefer the look of it without the regular optic that's on it; and a forward-facing pic rail.. Anyways, they should chamber this shit in 7.62x51N. That would be pretty interesting..

  • @ShadeStalker1915 i like they way you think... :) it would be wonderful if they chambered that puppy(haha bullpup joke?) in 7.62x51 it would be beastly

  • @ShadeStalker1915 Or 6.8 SPC. Or even 6.5 Grendel. Both of those would be pretty cool too.

  • "you shoot like a girlyman !!"

  • that guy looks like he needs to go to the toilet!

  • that shits on the m4

  • bloody yanks calling rifles, guns..

  • So much censoring...

  • Its A.U.G. 3 initials not a word it stands for Armee Universal Gewehr—"universal army rifle" People that think AUG is a word have no clue

  • @12345678910925

I think people just pronounce the abbreviation for the sake of convenience, not because they actually think it's a word.

  • @12345678910925 : now i know, and knowing is half the battle

  • @12345678910925 This just like F.A.L everyone knows it's an acronym, but they normally pronounce it Fal. Same reason N.A.S.A is pronounced Nasa.

  • @12345678910925

    So, it's F A M A S not famas?

  • i would have taken that gun and shot the dude with that annoying ass gun in the background.

  • AAAARRRRGGGGGHHHH!!!!! stop calling it a gun! ffs say rifle.

  • Im pretty sure switching the barrel around doesnt make it shorter.... =P

  • they should change the mag release on it like the one on the G36, it always irritates me how i have to stick my thumb up to pull it down,

  • i love the a4 ris

  • Steyr AUG is the best assault rifle in the world

  • @mf863722 wrong AK-47

  • @johncenaforeverever not really, u dont have the same accuracy as normal guns and the knockdown power and internal damage is absolutly crap coz of the low energy round. anyways the SA80A2(L85A2) is the best assault rifle in the world, its officially the most accurate rifle made and just got everything good about it in a smaller packet

  • @QRNPTBUZ err the m16a4 is pretty fricken acurate....and it only took 20 years and lots of £ for the l85 to be " the best assault rifle in the world"

  • @badgerattoadhall yh sure it accurate, but tink bout how long the M16 has been in production, how many companies make AR-15 upgrades and how many people use it ect. the L85 been around for ALOT less time, it has so little accessories that u can actully name them. litterally SUSAT/ACOG, a flashlight, RIS and UGL, and foregrip and maybe a bipod. and thats made it to this status already, when the AR platform has millions of products just for it...

  • @QRNPTBUZ Actually the barrel length of the m16a2/a4 (20 inches) and the barrel length of the l85 (20.4 in), the rifling (1:7) in both and the ammo matter the most so they should be very similar to each other. Tacticool accessories aside.

oh the forgrip on the l85 is also the bipod...the grip pod!

  • @badgerattoadhall yh they both fire 5.56 and .223 and so what if the barrel is .4inch shorter?? yes they are both nearly the same, but L85 was designed for CQB and long range, where as they AR-15 was for medium-long range. also the LMG version of the L85 has a barrel which is longer than a Barrett .50 in half the size, so range can be tripled to 800m. and the grip desingn depends on the user, some use Grips, some use grip-pods and some use bipods

  • @QRNPTBUZ my ammo i ment some guns like some ammo more than others also the quality of the ammo...you know range plinker ammo or match grade ammo

  • @BulkyMarcus Thats what she said

  • love this gun

  • Marden wf2~

  • i handled the steyr at a gun show and i instantly hated it. i shouldered it and its really uncomfortable. then i dry fired it, and the trigger feels like old rubber bands it was bad.

  • I think Michael Bane is gay

  • Cool weapon.

In Top ten rifles it was on the 7th place...

  • i like how the dude can't keep his hands off the gun

  • You guys remind me of Jim Carry from "Dumb and Dumber". Where at the beginning of the movie he cant tell the difference between Australia and Austria. HA HA HA! Americans... sometimes the stereotypes are true! WOW you guys make the rest of us look bad in front of the world.

  • @TheMedievalMan why dont you try to fight us then we will embarres you ahahaha if your british we done it twice why not make it a 3rd and if your german a 2nd

  • @GGNASSASSIN "Americans... sometimes the stereotypes are true! WOW you guys make the rest of us look bad in front of the world."

I dont know if you could figure it out. But I am an American. Im just not an ignoramus American like most.

  • @TheMedievalMan oh hahah well not all Americans are stupid or ignorant its people that say Americans are Ignorant who are Ignorant

  • @GGNASSASSIN Or maybe its people that say an American is ignorant, for saying there are many Americans who are ignorant, when ignorant, that the American who said there are ignorant Americans, is really an American, who is really the ignorant American?

  • @GGNASSASSIN no, it's the people who say all americans are ignorant.

  • is it only in semi auto or is it also full-auto?

  • That host is so fucking annoying!

  • 1:30 .... That's what she said...

  • @pitecusH

    nice

  • @pitecusH to u

  • @Clayton6996 good one

  • that gun is amazing

  • 1:29 thats what she said

  • i want it for christmas! with the acog sight!

  • @Norima666 acog will ad at least 1000 dollars to the package.

  • @SEALofthefuture1962

Thats why the a1 comes with an integrated scope.

  • Small? Yes. But it still has the same barrel length as an M4. And you can get a barrel to bring it up and over the size on an M16

  • @LemoneyFishmas

They kind of covered that in the video

  • @ haydenage I completely agree with you mate. Im an Aussie soldier myself and I think that the Steyr is one of the best rifles ever made.

  • @oOEvansJJsnavEOo Of course i would agree if i was a soldier i would love my countries gun to.

  • i wish they asked the guy in the background to take a one minute break while they were making a video.

  • was steyr one of the first bullpup manufactures?

  • @kecktrosity yes the steyr aug was the first bullpup design. All other bulpup rifles are derived from it. They are sweet rifles but are a little pricey at 1800.00 my opinion they are well worth it and are super easy to control.

  • @TheCashistrash

Thats wrong. First bolt action bullpup was the Thorneycroft carbine. First assault rifle was the TKB-408 then the EM2. Im sure there is more.

  • @kecktrosity

Nope the Thorneycroft carbine is possibly the first from 1901

  • when the war comes, i want an AUG by my side, an austrlian solider told me taht this rifle was exalent, and that guys has fired a lot of military wepons, as the l85 a2, m4, m16, ak 47 and ak74, g36, i was in service in afganistan and i guees he is a serius solider

  • I love bullpup rifles

  • I seriously think Bulpups are the way to go. Newer designs seem to address the issues of bulpups most shooters have while barely changing their performance compared to an assault rifle. The Tar-21 and F2000 are also nice bulpup rifles.

  • @FatalFist

We meet again! Yes, making the barrel go all the way through the gun is better for the making of CQB weapons, because think about it, if you took the barrel out of an M4 and used it for a bullpup, the gun would be tiny, and the AUG is pretty much the same length as an M4 but with the added barrel length that the bullpup design entails. The F2000 and the Tavor are also great weapons.

  • holy fuk its an AUSTRIAN gun that AUSTRALIANS use.

    2 different countries.

    2 different people.

  • @leeman122

Austria. Australia, Kangaroos? NO, AUSTRIA! Hitler, Fritzl, Brüno! :P

  • P.S. If the M4 is so crappy.... why do almost all Special Forces use them.... no SA-80s, no AUGs just M4s and G-36s. Same goes of handguns... the 1911 is the most used handgun among SF as well. No Glocks. This isn't a slight against Austrians or English, just an observation.... I agree Colt doesn't make the best products. (Fabrique Nationale makes our stuff now). But HK makes some damn good firearms too. Also, Steyr doesn't exist anymore. Don't hate just because they are American guns!

  • @TheReaganCole Ok the issue you fail to see here is the development cost. You do realize M4s scored the lowest in all trials compared to the SCAR and better competitor XM8. The reason why American declined at the offer of the XM8 was both development costs and it's modular system being expensive.

If you do a report on every individual service equipment in Iraq for Americans, you would find out that we aren't really being outfitted for quality, it's all cheap parts and pieces to be affordable.

  • @FatalFist I don't believe we were discussing the best battle rifles in the world, I believe we were discussing the Aug and M4. Yes the m4 is waayyy cheaper than the SCAR or XM8. I have actually fired both of these. Not one is perfect, the m4 with a gas piston controls better on full auto than a SCAR, The XM8 is bulky as shit (more than the Bushmaster ACR). Plus a built in carry handle is dumb, That is always phased out to be removable. Both excellent weapons though.

  • Also its hard to justify spending $2000 on a bare rifle when the m4 is $900 and works fine as long as you give to a professional soldier who cleans his rifle every day. Its even harder to justify spending more money during an unpopular war because some retards think these bastards will just stay in their own borders if we don't do something!

  • @TheReaganCole

Yeah I understand the whole cheap factor and training being taught. It's just at the same time the XM8 would of easily been the working horse of all branches in our military, albeit expensive... but it shows the soldier you're in it for their safety as much as the win of the war. Right now there's barely any moral, it's all self taught by those who put their lives on the line, something simple can go a long ways.

  • @TheReaganCole the cost of the rifle at 1800.00 + is what keeps it out of the hands of the USA infantry. Personally I think it is one of the best weapon designs ever but military don't buy because of the cost. Why give someone an 1800.00 rifle when you can get them into a cheap ar15 for 1000.00 or an ak 47 for about 700.00 mostly only the special forces use it and swat teams.

  • Well, I really like my AUG, but I've used it a few times in speed drills, and what I have seen is that the mag change is about the slowest. You can't dump it w/o using both hands, and you can't use another mag to press the release 'cause even a full mag won't drop free. But I really like a lot about this thing, since the ditched that POS 1.5 permanent scope. Great optics make the accuracy shine. Price is a big factor, you spend too much on the rifle, you cant afford the bullets! HA!

  • @TheReaganCole Well Mr. Reagan when I first had my rifle i was having the same issue the magazine was getting stuck in the well and needed two hands to get it out. This rifle is very picky about mags. From my observation the PMAG is the best it wont get stuck allowing you to take it out with one hand. I put my left thumb on button and pulldown with my other 4 fingers. Rifles have breakin periods too. I loaded and unloaded my rifle about 200 times before it work properly.

  • @TheCashistrash Hey, I just sent my AUG back to the factory to get the mag catch reworked. I tried to load/unload a bunch over a case of beer and Band of Brothers. After beer 8 and the successful invasion of France, a PMAG got terribly stuck and required some serious pulling to remove. Then I tried a GI Mag that I had to disassemble while in the rifle to get it out! They said it was a commom problem and they had a solution for it, so... fingers crossed

  • @TheReaganCole Hey here is a video of how you speed reload with a Pmag on an AUG. I know you can't press the button with another magazine and magazine drops on its own cuz of the bullpup design won't allow it. Yet i still think this is plenty fast. look at the video its my buddie shooting his own AUG. We both own one cuz we like them By the way ditch those orange stock magazines they suck youtube.com/watch?v=xBbJhv39IUM

  • @TheReaganCole Hows the AUG trigger? Like other bullpups?

  • @SEALofthefuture1962 Yeah, it is about like other bullpups. It has a small amount of play before you get to the break like most 2 stage triggers, but the break is real tough. I have not measured it, but it feels like 9 pounds. I have, found a machined trigger that is supposed to slip into the plastic trigger group that is said to drop it to below what a mil-spec trigger runs on an M4. I may try it out, but its like $75 from a no name company, so I want to find out if it really works first.

  • @TheReaganCole

Thats not true. While a lot of countries use the M4 they are being replaced. The 1911 is not the most used around the world.

  • @MudHut67 ... yeah... I didn't say "The World" I said SF... this stands for Special Forces. Check out their pics. If you read ANYTHING about Delta Force... They all carry 1911s smoothed out and tooled by the best pistolsmiths on the planet. Or the masad... if not a MP5, they use an M4. I can't think of a single Army that soley carries the 1911.

  • @TheReaganCole

Yes dumb ass and I said the world in context of your comment in which you talk about SF, follow? Delta force is not the world and neither is Israel. And like I said many around the world use or used the M4 but more and more you see it being replaced with better weaponry.

  • @MudHut67 SAS, Seals, Delta, Green Beret, Masad, Spetznaz (post Commie), Force Recon, Austrailian SF.= "The World" of SF still is most often seen with the 1911. I did not disagree that the M4 is being replaced. There are many fine weapons out there. The army just put in a large order for the SCAR. My original post was against POTG saying it was crap. IF you are not retarded and clean your rifle, it always works. If you want to resort to name calling, you must use both of your brain cells

  • @TheReaganCole

Here m8 read back in the comments and see who was the one being a condescending ass. SAS use P228s and 6s. Delta and Green Berets are American ( though im sure SOCOM favoured the M9 in trials). Spetsnaz use Russian weaponry, not feckin M4s and 45s. I cant think of any ex USSR special forces that used m4s. As for the M4 being crap; it may be a decent weapon in its own right but the fact that other systems run as good or better and need less maintenance make them superior.

  • I have the MSAR AUG with the Aussie Upgrades, props to Austrian thinking. Cool rifle, but you should do a little homework on the purpose of the AUG. The idea of this rifle is flawed, it is a small package to do close (Bulidings) work, but you can't switch shoulders without changing the bolt (casings in the face). The M4 can, and will "slice the pie" a lot faster without exposing bodyparts.... so that will mean death the the guy who can't switch shoulders. Thus, not the best for close work.

  • is this the modiefied verson of the AUG HBAR or is it the same??

  • oh wow, Austrians ? G'day mate !

    crikey

  • Yeehaa AUSTRIA RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i like the aug but id rather have a ar15

  • @isaiahman1234567 aug is way better then an ar15 ars jam but i would chose an m16a4 over an aug

  • @josephpa05 m16s and some ar15s have the same design just not seletive fire

  • @isaiahman1234567 true.......... best ar are lwrc from wat i tryed

  • i hate that version of it i like the other one like the one in css

  • @Ninjaxz2 this is actually better as you are able to have different sights used unlike the one in css which is aug a1 if i not mistaken.

  • i use this weapon as apart of my job.. its impossible to just pop off the barrel na dit is a good weapon

  • could it be possible to interview at an empty range?

  • ew...I only like the military version.

  • I like the instructor's Austrian accent :-)

  • It's pretty neat how fast you could swap off the barrel and all... But from the looks of it, it might be a little too easy to accidently pop the barrel off just by grabing the front grip the wrong way.

  • @danshyu exactly what i thought...

  • Best rifle ever, my fav modern day weapon, but wth they do with the design!? :O

  • 1:29

    sigh

    thats what she said

    sorry everybody

  • @Tclay43 That was my first thought too, dont be ashamed

  • next year i have to go to the austrian army "Bundesheer" and i am shocked!........how ugly is it now??? they have ruined it. i hope i get the old design AUG................

  • exactly it isn't the same gun that i fell in love with the old one was awesome, why did they have to change it.

  • @BigBoss1827

i have no idea..........maybe they want a futuristic rifle. oh god i hate that thing.

    i am sure i get the old one.......please. :)

  • this new Styer was desgined by the New Zealand Defence Forces because they wanted their styers to be more modular to fit accesories and the new NZDF sighting system... and also they wanted it shorter with tighter rifling. So this styer is actually way better than the old one. for those reasons. At first Styer was like "why do u want to do that? But once they had a look they picked up the design.

  • @ginjaninja1988 Lithgow in Australia, nothing to do with NZ.

  • @ginjaninja1988

Actually this is an american redesign of the old Steyr AUG A3 so that it could retain it's quick barrel change feature that wasn't in the old version of the A3.

This one is called the "Steyr AUG/A3 SA USA"

The NZDF actually buy their steyrs from Australia. And the rifle you're talking about is i think actually the proposed Austeyr F88A4. Which isn't in full production yet.

  • wow us Aussies have modded that beast to be so much better also this video implies its a American gun its Austrian and u guys can go bak to playing with your crappy m4s and m16s

also to the stupid cod nerds the aug hbar is the styer but the Australian modification also hbar is heavy barrel yes thts right it goes from a rife to a lmg this guns almost perfect also has interchangeable so you can go from left handed to right handed

  • @haydenage oh yeah crappy m4's and m16's, that must explain why so many guns are based off that platform and why thyve been in use since vietnam, dumbass

  • Umm the m16 is like the most accurate battle rifle in the world.

  • @haydenage This weapon is shit buddy. Im not an M4 fan, but we DO have weapons like the Springfield M1A rifles. You can keep your crap 5.56mm AUG, and Ill take my SOCOM 16 EBR, which is 7.62mm btw

  • @haydenage its a lego

  • @haydenage

This is H&K vs Colt... but you should watch it if you dont like american toys :D

    youtube . com/watch?v=AGwkHktkTxU

It proves that American guns is shit :P

  • @haydenage Aussie is short for AUSTRALIAN, lol and you wrote australian instead of austrian. Not a perfectionist just helping you from making the same mistake twice :)

  • @moeydogg77

Ummmm....I'm pretty sure that he meant what he said. Lol. Now it's YOUR turn to not make the same mistake twice. :)

  • @haydenage , either never make a comment on youtube ever again, or learn how

to construct a sentence. Your comment truly makes you seem like an epic idiot, which I guess you probably are.

  • @haydenage Wow, talk your own country up much while dissing others? How does this video imply that this is an American gun? The whole time he's talking about it finally coming into the country. Why would an American gun have to be imported to America? Also by calling people who play cod nerds, you are referring to yourself as one, as you play cod. I play video games, but I also own rifles, the two are NOT related in ANY way.

  • @haydenage i agree, m16/m4 are just shit, the US needs to move on; look what they have done to the AK-47, they made 74's, 101's etc.

  • @haydenage (part one) Wow you’re a douche that likes to talk out his ass….we know it is an Austrian rifle, there is an old law on the books in the bans the importation of military style rifles for civilian sales, this rifle will be built under contract in the US by sabre defense (that is why you are mistaken about the US overtones) but you know it all son….

  • @haydenage (part 2) “u guys can go back to playing with your crappy m4s and m16s” & pray tell what is so crappy about them ?by crappy you mean ironically American which means being the small fuckpigs that Australians are reflexively put down anything perceived to be American & then puff about anything you can convince yourself is Australian. You are better than us at everything this coming from a country who calls us arrogant yeah. If they are so “crappy” why does the SASR use the ar-15 then?

  • @haydenage (part 3) no, the Hbar was made by steyr to fill the fireteam LMG role, it has a heaver longer barrel and a 42 round magazine..it is used by Luxemburg as their LMG…the a machine rifle is far from perfect and has been dropped by most (rich) countries that have tried to adopt one like the UK w/ the dropping of the l86 and replacing it with the FN Minimi…the same minimi used by Australia in the lmg role (not the automatic rifle).

  • @haydenage Part 4 “wow us Aussies have modded that beast to be so much better” back to puffing yourself up the f88 is a AUGa1 with a rifle twist for 5.56 NATO instead of .223 as well as a bayonet lug for and ar15 bayonet. Am I missing any other “mods” that have been done to this “beast”? BTW this is a AUGa3

  • Comment removed

  • AUSTRIA (ÖSTERREICH) - VIENNA!

  • @LatinaAmante Australia's military uses a license-built version, and that's probably where the confusion is coming from.

  • @LatinaAmante

it's used by the austrailans. lol. but it's hardcore austrian. just like the glock baby. woo!!!

  • I think you'll find that we do actually use it, thanks.

  • Shit, disregard - bad reading on my part. Sorry.

  • @haydenage ok smart ass calm down. America could still kick Australia's ass. Who has the best Military in the world? We do.

  • @Denito525

    1. austria not australia you dumbass

    2. only because america is 100 times bigger

  • @WrProgamer well he did say aussies, so i assumed it was australian, so don't call me a dumb ass for not knowing random facts that don't actually matter

  • @Denito525

    1000 times bigger

  • @Denito525 No you don't have the biggest or best army in the world anymore. China does!

  • @Rqoiz That can be debated-Only think China lacks is the Logistics to make use of their Army

  • @haydenage im american and i agree 100%

  • @haydenage Crappy M4's? While the M4 has it's short comings, AUS SAS use M4 variants.

  • that dude must be from denmark, theres no way hes from somewere else

  • I'm sure he's from austria, thats where the gun is made. I come from there, and i can tell by the accent.

  • U mean the gyu with the sunglasses?

I bet hes Austrian - his accent is... Well, it's austrian, just like the Steyr itself

  • the older design looks bether and cooler to me

  • i liked the old design better

  • what caliber is the "hbar" version

  • haha COD. the HBAR is the same caliber as the aug.
