Blake Schwarzenbach solo should at least please the crowd with some Jawbreaker or Jets songs. No one knows these songs. What a disapointment. Blake still rules.
@Ericisgoodenough This was a poetry/story reading, not a solo show. When he walked on stage he said he was originally gonna read these as poems, but decided to play them instead.
is it lame to fantasize about a Jawbreaker reunion? Or maybe just Blake touring acoustic and playing a few jawbreaker tunes along with his new material? That would rule.
that would be lame. it's over, they were good. for those who were lucky and old enough saw it, it was great. it would be too contrived now. no thanks.
This is an obvious literary device you mongoloid. Read some Bukowski, Kerouac, Kafka, Murakami etc etc. They a ll seemingly go overboard with details at times.
there is a mp3 download out there of the entire set of his new band Thorns of Life's show at Gilman in Berkely last janurary. These two songs are on there preformed by the band..hit me up if anyone out there wants to hear the thorns of life mp3...very good quality. i hear they are recording now. i want more of this too!!!
Here ya go...the last song , "From a Tower" is a solo one like this...but he has a harmonica also, i heard he played it here acoustic also , but the guy left it out, or didnt video tape it ...anyways...song #1 on the Gilman CD is the same as song number one on here..."my first time"
the second song he plays right here is called "Vivid Green"
its like number 14?12?13? one of those i think...that was one of my favorites when i saw them cause i liked it soo much on this video...west coast?SF?

I have a question about Blake. I have been browsing through the internet and in almost every page says that he is considered the godfather of emo, does anybody know if this is true or if he has confirmed this?
The band plays these songs...a fucking blake schwarnbach explosion on youtube especially lately. ...so if your gonna see the band you can know some words. cause thats always fun
I was totally at this event. My friend and I are right up front. You can see my friend's head...haha. Blake is like one of my most favorite people ever. I was going in expecting him to read and this was an amazing surprise. Made my life since I've never been fortunate enough to see Jawbreaker or JTB. I've always wanted to hear him sing in person. :D
what happened to jets to brazil? all their 3 albums are awesome

It would be pretty boring to hear a song that read straight from those authors' books though, hmmm?
btw - you've really impressed me with your fancy english talk - where did you go to junior college?

@onionmonkey
Do you think he could actually comprehend half the words utilised by those writers?

More proof of the Blake/Bob Mould parallel career-path theory: Solo Acoustic Blake??? Does Blake have his "Workbook" brewing? I hope so!
