I totally disagree with this magazine writer. Hollywood is basically hurting (because of their lack of balls AND ideas), so they are latching onto comics to "save" them. The sad thing is, hollywood is taking the spot light, and comic books are, again, taking a back seat. Not alot of comic fans at comic con these days.

That relationship is reciprocal. They're more interested in franchise cross-overs then comics as commercially successful art and mythology. I sat in a room where Marvel told everyone how they were greedy, terrified, undeserving captains of industry. They don't want new ideas when they can pander. And that is the state of the comic book industry... Let's destroy it.

Marvel did ALMOST go bankrupt. And I was cheering all the way. It would have been the best thing for the industry. It would have shown that comics, especially good ones, can exist without Marvel. And in fact, alot of great ones could take the stage, without the painted up whore (Marvel) taking up the "spot light". Even the order catalogue (distributor) changes the rules for Marvel. Affecting everyone else in the industry. Marvel needs to be destroyed. Along with DC and Darkhorse.

Sorry to offend your limited sensibilities. You are entitled to your opinion. But again, that's all it really is. Marvel is the worst example of what comics are about, and yet they seem to stand as the poster child of American comics, to the rest of the world. Think of why sales have dropped from 1 million per month (1990's X-MEN/Jim Lee) to lest than 90,000 copies per month. The numbers don't lie. Marvel has almost single handedly destroyed the American comic market.

Hollywood is ruining ComicCon!! Last year it cost $65 for all 4 days now they raised it to $100 for next year. Reason why is to pay for Hollywood to come!!!. Hollywood Sucks! Next thing you know in 2 to 3 years it'll cost $150 to $300 for all 4 days!!!

Comic Con, as it once was, is dead. It's far too crowded now. Just too many annoying smelly people who only care about seeing big stars and getting their hands on exclusive swag that they can turn around and sell on ebay. It used to be a celebration of comics, animation, art and film and now it's just a mad-marketing circus with everyone trying to out promote one another.

While I do enjoy going to Comic Con every year since 1992, I do kind of agree. I like the swag, but would never think of selling it on Ebay. I still enjoy graphic novels and certain comics. I'm not all that crazy about Hollywood and toy companies having such a huge influence over Comic Con.

I AM getting feed up with the huge crowds and waiting in line after linem, or waiting

3 hrs in line just to see 1 panel. BTW, not everyone at Comic Con is "annoying" or "smelly."
