I love you all, my brothers and sisters! If you really want to dig deep into the Gospel of Jesus Christ, read The Gospel Q. Before the four Gospels were written, there were The Saying of Jesus. At that time, it was Jewish custom to write down the wise sayings of Jews. They have never found a copy of this Gospel but believe it existed and confirmed when you read in several books of the New Testament where Paul preaches the Gospel. He didn't preach the Gospels. It was in Antioch that the co
Freemasons are NOT allowed to tell anyone thats not a freemason what goes on in their temple. I have a friend that is one and he won't tell me anything. They take a blood oath saying they will not talk about their temple cerimonies to anyone except other freemasons. The pentegram has been a satanic symbol further back than 1966. Joseph Smith was one thats why they have them on the temples in Salt Lake and Navouoo, MO. Would you enter a church with a pentegram on it? Its also used in Wicca.
@beatleman69 You probably never knew but an upright pentagram was considered a symbol of good luck originally (only inverted pentagrams were considered unlucky), and the "All-Seeing Eye" which you fools call Satanic is called the Eye of Providence, which is in fact a symbolism of the Christian God. "Satanism" was invented as a hoax in the 19th century. Then 20th century cults played along with the joke and called themselves "Satanists". The true Satanists of this world don't use symbols...
@beatleman69 Also, pretty much about everyone knows what goes on in Masonic lodges these days. There's nothing "hidden" anymore. Since it's been discovered that Masons actually do not do anything Satanic in their lodges, conspiracy theorists now have to forcibly adhere to the hypothesis that "only 33rd degree Freemasons are actually Luciferian" which is completely bogus. Did you go on Wikipedia yet and typed in "Taxil Hoax" yet? Please do, it'll do you some good.
@shiverleaf15 Watch this video, if you cannot see the satanic/masonic connection with mormonism, then you are blind. youtube.com/watch?v=lRgi0XT8Fg8 There is no conspirity theorist here, just hard evidence!
@beatleman69 When i try to load that link it just takes me straight to the Youtube main page. Anyway, i'm interested to see so-called "evidence" about Satanic influences in Mormonism or even Freemasonry for that matter. I've seen so much "evidence" and then done my own research and uncovered it all to be libel. Stop slandering Freemasons and Latter-day Saints. Like i said, all attempts to link Masons with Satan are bogus. Much of it has even been DISPROVEN as fraudulent hoaxes (e.g. Taxil Hoax).
@Noffy1111 That's incorrect, and i'd suggest you compare several parts of Tertullian's Against Praxeas with Justin Martyr's Dialogue with Trypho. Because the truth is, the Trinity is a teaching of the Montanists, not the original Christians. I could show you what i mean if you're interested. Most Trinitarians have sadly never even heard of the word "Montanism".
This post is for all you Trinitarians who want to know the truth.
He's wrong about Moses, Abraham and Noah being "prophets". This guy in the video sounds so happy, or should I say spirtually dead. He has no joy in his heart, Jesus brings joy into ones heart after receiving him as their personal saviour, this guy don't have that. A false jesus can't do that, especially when, in the mormon faith, jesus and satan are brothers, that gives satan equel rights as jesus has. Do I see freemason influences here since freemasons are luciferian.
@beatleman69 Freemasons are not Luciferian. I know where you are getting these ideas from. Conspiracy theories, yes? They got it from Albert Pike (a Freemason), supposedly. But the truth is, a man named Leo Taxil published the quote in a book "exposing" Freemasonry, claiming Pike made the quote, and then that man came out and said the entire book was a hoax to attack Freemasons and make fun of Catholics when they fell into the trap of thinking the book was real. Look it up, the Taxil Hoax.
@shiverleaf15 Sorry but freemasons are luciferian. For one thing they have "secrets" that they are forbiden to tell any outsider, if you have noticed yet on their temples and on freemasons cars they have a inverted pentegram, a symbol of satanism. They deny Jesus Christ as deity (God), they use the all seeing eye of Isiris, the ancient egyptian god. They refer their head of their lodges as worshipful master. Look up freemasons on youtube and/or google it, you'll find out they are luciferian.
@beatleman69 masonry is not a religion. religion is not allowed to be discussed in lodges. any man can join, so it's not that secret once a man is in. the pentagram was adopted by anton levey in 1966 with the founding of satanism as an accepted religion (with the head of baphomet inside). the pentagram has been around way longer than 1966. you have no idea what you are talking about (even though i'm sure you consider yourself an expert from all the youtube videos you've seen). get the facts.
Galations 1:9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. II Corinthians 11:13-15 13: For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14:And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15: Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of rightousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
His statement about their own bible another scripture? Lets see what the Bible says about that. Galations 1:6-8 6:I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel. 7:Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8:But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you that that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
A church domination cannot save you, only the blood of Christ can wash away your sins by repenting of your wicked ways and ask Jesus in your heart and life. There was a fire revival in the colonies at Joseph Smith's time, why would he question what church to belong to? Jesus didn't start a domination, he started His church with believers in Him, not in man. Smith was a freemason, thats why he claimed to see God and Jesus, sorry but there's only one God: Isaiah 43:10-11.
Please tell me where in the Bible you find the handshakes, the pagan symbols and rituals such as the Five Points through the Veil, which CAN be found in freemason/druid rituals. (google five points of fellowship). God came to bring his kingdom (see biblegateway keyword). Hebrew root word for apostole in Greek is malak, meaning messenger. The gospels speak of 12 disciples, students and the early ecclesia (assemblies) were house churches and small groups.
@GmaM11 2 Thessalonians 2:15 reminds Christians to hold fast to the traditions of God handed unto his Church. Do Protestants do that? Early Christians took part in the Endowment ceremonies and that can be proven. For example, the Washing and Anointing of the LDS is described nearly identically by Cyril of Jerusalem's 21st Catechetical Lecture. Of note is the fact that he says that only those who take part in that ceremony are worthy of being called "Christians".
@teriiura Like you said, mormons can say, "I believe The Book of Mormon to be the word of God, as far as it is translated, correctly: seeing that it has been changed, numerous times."
@shiverleaf15 i will try to respond your questions briefly and if you would like to talk more about them i
would be happy to if time allows i am tired and need to sleep soon however 1 the church is not a denomination but the body of Christ the key thing that makes them true is who Jesus is and was, God in the flesh alpha and omega the creator of everything this is where the lds beliefs fall short and you do indeed follow another Christ if you are lds.
@shiverleaf15 2 The Bible.. this is the word of God and the manual for life this is 66 books written by 40 guys written in 3 languages over 1500 of years. Paul wrote 2 ti 3:16 all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for Doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. doctrine
(whats right) reproof (what not right) and lastly how to get it right.
@shiverleaf15 3 i would disagree with you that the old testiment does confirm the new there are hundreds of prophesies literally fulfilled by Jesus Christ i will give you references for a few Gen. 12:1-3, 22:18,
Gen 49:10, 2 Samuel 7:12, Micah 5:2, Isaiah 7:14, Isaiah 35:5-6, Psalm 118:22, Daniel 9:24-26,
Psalm 22:16-18, Isaiah 53; Zech 12:10, Psalm 16:10. Paul also explains why the jews would disagree in romans 11:25
@shiverleaf15 4 God answers prayers in a variety of ways especially in regard to learning his word somtime you will over hear something a lot of times conveniently you will find the answer in the word somtimes audibly God is not confined to answering prayer by one given means danial went on a 21 day fast waiting for a answer to his prayer, but know with surety that he does answer prayer i personally try to thank him for the ones he doesn't answer, man proposes God disposes
Jesus is the ONLY Truth! Here is what we call false Teaching because If you believe the Bible, it is impossible to believe Mormonism period. The New Tastement contradicts with mormon doctrines, like the Bible teaches that there is no marriage in heaven, the Temple of God is in the hearts of Believers, Jesus is the Only High Priest, Salvation is by Grace alone and not of works. There are many more but those are the main Ones. Anyway, they do'nt believe in One God but billions of them somewhere.
@a3zfasi If you believe in the Old Testament, a Jew would tell you it's impossible to believe in the New Testament because Judaism heavily contradicts with Christian doctrines. Do you see the flaw of your logic?
If you believe that you are Mormon and follow Christ, then you have been misinformed and/or manipulated. I have submitted my life to Christ. You need to know that you are making a choice between a church of the utmost deceit and Jesus Christ. I love you and I pray for you all. Please read your Bible. Mathew, Mark, Romans, Corinthians,Galatians it doesn't matter, just read the New Testament and make a choice between His Promise and your church's. Galatians 1:6-9. This is haunting for u
hahahahhahahaha LIARS!! mormons only believe in the bible as long as "it's translated correctly" meaning that if everyone outside mormonism shows the mormons that the bible doesnt talk about the book of mormon, the mormons will NOT believe/trust the bible! and i have news for you mormons... the bible never.... NEVER talks about the book of mormon!! this nonsense is the same as imagining in gold plates! it's simply not there! stop making stuff up mormons!!
@MALDITTOROKKERO Again, just like i told the other fellow here; a Jew could apply this same flawed logic of yours to Christianity overall, and say that Jesus misapplied Jewish prophecies to himself, and that Christianity is heavily disproved by the Old Testament, and that Jesus was a "master of excuses", etc. So why are you a Christian, if the logic you use against Mormonism would disprove your own religion too according to Judaism? I think that's a bit hypocritical of you.
"Even Mormon apologists have to admit that many of the variants are only minor in nature. Dr. Anderson, a Mormon scholar and authority in the LDS Church on biblical manuscripts, also recognises that the variations in the New Testament manuscripts are essentially insignificant. Anderson notes the overwhelming agreement between the thousands of manuscripts; he explains that '...all manuscripts agree on the essential correctness of 99% of the verses in the New Testament...
“But even if we or an angel from heaven (moroni) should preach to you a gospel other than what we have preached to you, curse be on him!” Galatians 1:6-9 Mormon’s are not prepared for the coming apocalypse, Huge Sorrow will be to the mormon who refuse to see the truth, You have been warned your fall will be great. Read the BIBLE ONLY!
Rom 10:3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to (establish their own righteousness), have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. 2Cr 11:13 For such [are] false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 15 Therefore [it is] no great thing if his, ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. (the 3rd article of faith and Sec.132 D&C is evidence)
the book of mormon and the bible do not go hand in hand...the mormons believe they were once in heaven created by heavenly father and a heavenly mother. imagine how much sex is going on in heaven...MY GOD WAS NEVER A CREATED BEING, . MY GOD CREATED THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH AS WELL AS THE PLAN FOR SALVATION. mormons don t believe that, they believe they can enter heaven on their own merit. now that is nothing to sneeze at, they believe that they are better than God so the attitude shows
are you kidding me... I know beyond this earth that you mormons believe that the bible is only as correct as your prophets interpret. Was in not joe who stated "the bible is not really correct but the book of mormon is more correct" I beg to differ since I know the book of mormon has more than 2000 grammatical changes and puts Jesus born in Jerusalem. I would rather believe the bible than just a book. The BIBLE is inspired GOD BREATHED, the book of mormon on the other hand is just fiction
@MrBigbear6718 Hey the Bible somewhere also says that Jesus would be born in Jerusalem in the Old Testament. The word "Jerusalem" was not restricted to the city, but also to its close environs, including the town of Bethlehem. The so-called 2000 grammatical changes are just that, grammar. The KJV has changed words, such as adding in unicorns and dragons where the original text said "re'em" and jackals respectively. I don't judge the Bible for its grammatical changes, do you?
@shiverleaf15 you are wrong. completely wrong. jerusalem was a walled city; this means everything inside the walls was jerusalem. everything else isn't. go read micah 5:2-5, matthew 2:1, or luke 1:4-6 then go read alma 7:10. the fact that we have the dead sea scrolls, tanakh, torah, talmud, targums, and vulgate (over 26,000 manuscripts in all that comprise the cannon of biblical text) for us to refer to is all the proof you need.
@yourelameface Luke 2:4 calls Jerusalem the city of David. 2 Kings 14:20 and 1 Chronicles 11:5 call Jerusalem the city of David. Several Bible scholars and Christians consider the town of Bethlehem to be sort of like a "suburb" of Jerusalem. The BoM says Jesus was born in the land of Jerusalem, not in the city.
@shiverleaf15 nope. "and behold, he shall be born of mary at jerusalem which is the land of our forefathers..." never in the entire bible is this city referred to as a land. the city of david reference is in regards to both the birth place of david (bethlehem) while the other was conquered by david (city of jebus). within the 1 chronicles passage the cities are set apart. v5 points out david was at the stronghold (jerusalem) while v16 says the philistines were at bethlehem. there is distinction.
@shiverleaf15 matthew states bethlehem is in "the land of judah (matt 2:6, cf. luke 2:4). judah is the "land;" jerusalem is a "city" (zach 2:6, matt 5:35), and so is bethlehem (luke 2:4). twice matthew refers to "land of israel" (2:20-21) and the to the "city of nazareth" (v23). there isn't a single lexical source that defines the term "city" to mean a "land." biblical writers didn't have suburbs, they had walls that defined cities. they also didn't confuse "land" and "city."

Ballard, you are a dried-up weed who subscribes to the "fake it til you make it" philosophy. After all, this was what you learned to do, in the '50s, when that was such a common thing to believe.
Don't have a testimony of the Gospel? Bear it, until to get one! (viz, Fake it, until you Make it)
Don't have the associated "Gifts" of your calling, yet? Well, Ballard, just FAKE IT UNTIL YOU MAKE IT.
In short, just keep on pretending: that way nobody will know, for sure!
Well....the acoustics make your voice "boom right out there", fo' shizzle.
But, Melvin...Russell...Ballard....you are nothing like the Savior who you tell Mormons to be like! In your media interview (where you take along Quentin Cook, a "junior" apostle), you say that you want to be perceived in a certain way.
BEHOLD, Christ going around saying to the people: "please perceive me in a certain way. Okay?"
You sound awfully, awfully needy, Mr. Elder Melvin Russ Ballard.
@Noffy1111 I find your statements incredibly interesting.
1) Not every detail can be a lie, since the Book of Mormon can be considered the keystone of the LDS religion.
2) I am always fascinated and amused by men and women who try to prove the existence of God via the science of men, as if things of faith can ever really be proven through such things- if they were, what you believe would not be faith, because to know something or have it proven does not require faith.
@Noffy1111 Actually, there is no proof that either of these places bore any historical significance to biblical events; there are only conjectures, and possibilities.
Most of the "history" of the bible is just assumed- there isn't much we actually know about the people or events in it that would make it much more than a myth, besides our belief that it is real. The same is true for the other scriptures.
Friberg published an explanation of his works in the December 1952 issue of the Children’s Friend, with four illustrations following in the January through April 1953 issues. Another four paintings appeared in the first four months of 1954, but the final four were published intermittently from 1961 through 1963.
Eight of the illustrations were first published in a softcover edition of the Book of Mormon itself in 1961. Subsequent paperbound editions of the scripture still contain several of the Friberg compositions.
Here we are again, another "apostle" suppressing the truth in unrighteousness.
Time spent in the BoM would be much better spent in the 66 Books of the Bible. BoM is a watered down "bible" with enormous credibility issues as to historicity. It is blatantly racist. It is a bait book, a book to bastardize Bible belief, & lead to D&C & PoGP, where by far most of Mormon doctrine that separates the LDS church from Christianity is written.
@Noffy1111 What evidence do you have of the only temple is to be built on Mount Moriah? I didn't see you quote any scriptures? Sounds like hear say to me.
@Noffy1111 I quote the Bible and its teaching and you ignore them. Like I said before you only go over what you want. Question why is there no mention of what I talked about over Matt 17, Heb 5, Matt 7 just like I said you only go over what you like. You only went over one of the many scriptures I brought up like I said I can quote you where you try and twist things to bend to your own views. Its not hard either because you do it in practically every post. Again why didn't you answer my question
@Noffy1111 them that the truths they had been taught in this glorious experience shouldn't be discussed with others. On other occasions the Lord told his disciples "that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ," (Matt 16:20, Mark 7:36, Luke 9:21). Sometimes, after he performed miraculous healings, Christ required that the event be kept secret. For instance, after healing a leper (Matt. 8:2-4), he said, "see thou tell no man," (Mark 5:43, Mark 7:36). The Lord counseled us in the
@Noffy1111 So Noffy when you going to answer that question I asked you? A Biblical case in point is what occurred on the Mount of Transfiguration (Matt. 17:1-9). There, God the Father's voice was heard testifying that Jesus was His Beloved Son. Moses and Elias also appeared to the three apostles and Jesus on that occasion. Later, Christ admonished Peter, James and John to "tell the vision to no man, until the Son of Man be risen again from the dead" (Matt. 17:9). Clearly he was telling
@Noffy1111 Question odd I am asking someone on this same page the same question. Why did the apostles continue to go to the temple after the death of Christ? Question to you both the temple is sacred. As we know in the Old Testament only certain people were aloud inside the temple why?
@BOON70 As a Mormon, you have been taught that obedience to laws and ordinances of the lds gospel, you become sinless and worthy, and given a temple recommend as proof. yet. 1Jo 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. As a mormon, you must purchase worthiness and repay God for the work he did. yet, God... 2Ti 1:9 Who hath saved us, not according to our works, but according to his,,,, grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus....
@awolLDSasap a temple recommend are people that are in good standing but does say anywhere they have to perfect. There is a few things however of a serious nature that would keep you from getting a recommend though. I find it odd that you try and talk about stuff you have no idea about. Its like you trying to explain physics to me that I took 4 years in college and 2 years in high school. I enjoy science because it excites my mind and curiosity.
@BOON70 Temple recommends are club cards. Pay as you go to keep the membership. I'm not the one that is misinformed. With all of your skoolin, how can you reject facts about Josephs foibles and the history of the church? How can you read the New Testament and still believe that Jesus is Satans spirit brother and the atonement was in the Garden? I'll try to make this as simple as possible.. Jesus is patiently waiting for you.
@awolLDSasap A question I asked to you both that I have to answer because you just wish twist things to whatever you want to say. Why did Christ speak in parables? Not all of us are at the same point in our spiritual maturity. That is why Christ said, regarding his parables, that some are ready to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of heaven, but to others "it is not given" (Matt 13:11). The Bible clearly teaches that people need to be prepared for knowledge of greater truth before it is revealed
@BOON70 You think lds secrets are similar to the parables? That's wishfull thinking. Mormons aren't spiritually discerned. They don't realize that God is in charge of everything and there is no spirit prison.
@awolLDSasap Anciently, the prophet Ezekiel declared, "Thus saith the Lord GOD; No stranger, uncircumcised in heart, nor uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into my sanctuary" (Ezek. 44:9)
@thatshilarious867 Is that why the garden is mentioned once or twice, and the cross is mentioned over 20 times? WRONG ATONEMENT, WRONG JESUS, WRONG SALVATION. Listen to what Isaiah said about the Son. Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, THE MIGHTY GOD, THE EVERLASTING FATHER, The Prince of Peace.
Everlasting and Eternal God was never your spirit brother.
@thatshilarious867 The atonement started in the garden? Is that why He plead to the Father to remove the cup that was coming? Why not go all the way back to his birth and call that the atonement too?
@awolLDSasap before he baptized Jesus. Why was he baptizing people before Christ? Christ hadn't said Except a man be born of the .... and so on. What was the purpose of the Earth being flooded by water completely? Sounds like the Earth was baptized but what a second this was in the days of Noah? John 1:19-25 also shows that the Jews were familiar to baptism. Didn't Elisha tell Naaman to wash himself 7x in the river (2 Kings 5)? What about Isa 4:4? Baptism wasn't something new when John the
@BOON70 John wasn't baptizing everyone. He was baptizing the Jews. When Jesus said you must be born of water, he was describing physical birth water. Makin up things again? God flooded the earth to kill every living thing. Are you physically destroyed when you're baptized? It was a punishment. I know what you're trying to push, and it's NOT EVEN CLOSE to the truth. It's Joseph Smithlical.
@awolLDSasap Yeah you don't know anything about Mormonism only from what you have read on websites. And no it wasn't for the purpose of mikvah. How did Joseph steal the priesthood from the Jews?
@Kurama1 Fine. It's the church of Joseph Smith of latter day saints. You might want to to do some research and praise Sidney Rigdon for the restoration theology.
@awolLDSasap By the way I have been a member for about 18 years now so I pretty much know what im talking about. You need to research. Also The chruch of Jesus Christ of Later Day saints Thankk you and have a good day : )
@Kurama1 The doctrines continually change. Are you aware that God the Father had sex with Mary to create Jesus? Have you been around long enough to remember the throat and belly slitting penalties for revealing the temple secrets? Have you been around long enough to remember the change of words in "I am a child of God" from "teach me all that I should KNOW" to "teach me all that I should DO'? There never would have been 1 temple built if Jesus Christ was in charge.
@Kurama1 If you stick around long enough, you will have the opportunity to see more doctrineal changes. The most recent change came from over 4000 DNA tests. With the facts staring them in the face, the brethren decided to change the preface of the Bookofmormon to say the Lamanites are "among" the American Indians, instead of "are the American Indians". You might think this change is casual and not important. The deception is real. There are eternal consequences.
@moparmonster1965 The leaders of the church decided it was a good place to store records when they gathered granite to build the Salt Lake temple. They wouldn't survive a bunker buster. Member records, attendance, baptism, ordinations are stored & space leased to others. There is a private vault above the lds vault where companies and individuals lease space to store data, gold, silver, fossils, paintings, stuff like that. The private vault is stronger, monitored & guarded.
@moparmonster1965 The Utah church built the vault because they truely believed the second coming was right around the corner. At the same time, prophecy in the church grew at a fast pace. Stake leaders down to bishops were giving prophetic dreams. Church leaders had to stop the wannabe prophets. "There could be only 1 prophet of the church" DUH. The dreams tapered off, but some are retold in small groups today.
@moparmonster1965 Mormons do not believe that Jesus has all of the power. They believe in a priesthhood manpower that precedes the name of Jesus Christ in every "prayer blessing" that is given. Members of the church believe their priesthood has control over the whole world. The rest of the world just doesn't know about it yet.
@awolLDSasap "Mormons do not believe that Jesus has all of the power??????" Can't get much more inaccurate than that. The Priesthood is synonymous with HIS (not our) power ... they are one in the same.
Mormons simply believe that Jesus wants to share His power. Did not Jesus tell his apostles that they would do greater things than He? Did not Jesus say that we will sit on his right hand next to the Father?
In Gethsemane, did He not say that we may be One with Him AND the Father?
@batterdown Which Jesus, the Jesus of Mormon, a creature/craftsman who is merely the manipulator of matter & is not the uncreated Creator of all creation ※ OR ※ the Jesus of Eternal Spirit of Holiness Biblical Revelation, WHO IS more glorious than the grand sum of all creation, that is & was, & ever shall be, in any & ever realm of reality & relevance‽ To Christians strong it is luminously clear the Monson movement of Moroni fails miserably at 2 Cor. 11 & throughout from Genesis to Revelation.
@awolLDSasap We fight the falsehood of Mormonism that blatantly bastardizes Bible belief, grossly misrepresents the glory of the One True God, & door to door, on the internet, & elsewhere impishly bears false witness against the blessed & beloved body & bride of Christ. ※ If LDS do not get right Who The One True God Is how can they be the one true church? ※ They are not as they are dominated & driven by strong spirits of delusion. When their scriptures contradict the Bible they toss the Bible!
@Shulamitefire Saying this to you as well, as i said to two other people before you; you Protestants (and sometimes Catholics) always pull the "Bible contradiction" card to "disprove" the LDS church, but if you used your logic against yourself from the point of view of Judaism, Christianity (which Jews see as heavily contradictory with Old Testament scripture) would be "disproven".
@moparmonster1965 good to see yah.... I was recently reminded of a little snippet that I was taught in lds sunday school in the 60s. It was "Joseph Smith was a direct decendant of Jesus". It astonished me the first time I heard it, it sounds even more crazy rediculous today. Like Eden in Missouri and Noahs Ark built in the U.S. because of a place called Arkansas. I strive to teach Mormons the truth. Teasing them is an added bonus!
And remember that before Smith read John Lloyd Stephens' book "Incidents of Travel...," the BOM events were commonly believed to be set in America, conveniently around the Smith family farm. But now, the church has seemingly misplaced the entire Hill Cumorah and isn't sure if it's here or there, sort of like George Bush Jr. looking for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq: comical.
Like Thomas Stuart Ferguson's book: "Cumorah--Where?"? For God's sake, we know exactly where the Hill Cumorah and Zarahemla both are and yet, not one single shred of evidence anywhere to be found.
@moparmonster1965 I have to laugh when BYU or farms releases another theory. The stories spread through church publications as if these guys had discovered the Ark of the Covenant... Reading between the lines, it always says.. it might have been, it could have been, or, our finds are very similar to other cultures that existed somewhere in the world.
And since FARMS is actually on the BYU campus, it's not hard to infer that the church has a direct pipeline to their publications and press releases. That's not exactly what I call inpartial. And the same goes for BYU itself; there's no way to insure honest and unbiased conclusions based on reality and available evidence as opposed to providing support for the church's position.
@moparmonster1965 They are closely watched and reviewed. The church would never release a story that might soften a members testimony, "brainwashing".
Now that's a new one on me, but it was likely tied to the Jesus being a married polygamist concept that died a slow, lingering death after the church officially (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) gave up polygamy. Therefore, I shouldn't be suprised, but still, I am, just a little.
@moparmonster1965 Sandra Tanner has noted that her own grandfather and many others were practicing polygamy after the manifesto. There were members of the Utah church living in polygamy up to the 1950s. sly hypocrites.....
I'm also not suprised by this either. My wife's family were miners in Wyoming and there are at least three polygamists there, but I'll have to look at the book again to see if they were practicing past 1890.
@moparmonster1965 Do you know the program, "polygamy, what love is this"? They upload the programs at "aboutpolygamydotcom" Sandra has been a guest on several shows. She gives reference to several books, including Todd Comptons book. I need to stop procrastinating and pick up the books she mentioned.
@awolLDSasap As the author of Hebrews wrote, some are still babes in Christ and are ready only for milk are not yet ready for meat (Heb. 5:12-14). How are they to receive the "meat"? In sacred places, such as the temple! Paul, himself, when he was caught up into paradise, heard unspeakable words, which were "not lawful for a man to utter" (2 Cor. 12:4).
@Noffy1111 Also about the Book of Enoch being mentioned in the Bible why would Jude quote from something that is not a divine source or of God? Question why would they quote from any of the books I mentioned unless they were of divine value? Question was Nathan chosen by God to be a prophet, what about Enoch, and what about the others that I mentioned? If you know how the King James Bible came about enlighten me.
@BOON70 Tell me if these have been translated correctly. Rev 19:13 And he [was] clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. Rev 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. Rev 21:14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
@awolLDSasap Hmm I find it odd you don't answer the question I gave to notify. I can answer your question, but you answer me first because I asked first. Oh and just to let you know your questions is very easy to answer.
@BOON70 This is going in circles. The only thing that is important is Jesus. Isaiah said that he is the Mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. The priesthood, laws, ordinances, temples reject the sacrifice on the cross.
@awolLDSasap How does the temple reject what Christ did? Does not the work the apostles did after the resurrection of Christ show that the work of God was not yet finished? What about people who go and repent does this not show the work of God has not ceased? Those who go about and preach the word of God does this not show that the work of God has not ceased? If so they do the work of God in vain. But yet we see that Paul, Peter, others continue to go to the temple after Christ?
@BOON70 Temple endowments add to the work that Jesus did. Jhn 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. Jhn 10:7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. There are no secrets to pass through the heavenly veil. Jesus is the only way to live with the Father.
@awolLDSasap John 10:1, 7 says nothing against endowments or the temple. What I find odd is many people say after Christ there was to be no more temples but yet the apostles continue to go to them after the death of Christ. Question what was the purpose of temples after Christ?
@BOON70 John doesn't say anything against endowments? That's because there never were any. Why did the apostles go to the temple afterwards? To teach the people. After the cross, there was no need for a temple. Remember, a "new temple built without hands"? The aposltes never performed secret ceremonies anywhere in the Jewish temple. You are deluded.
@awolLDSasap Sometimes I wonder if you guys read the scriptures because you take things so out of context or only tell part of the story only the part you like. Temple without hands? You forgot to quote one verse John 2:21 But he spake of the temple of his body, he wasn't talking about the temple in Jerusalem. 1 Cor 6:9 it says our bodies are a temple of which the Holy Ghost can be if we are righteous. Next you don't know anything about temple recommends. No one is perfect those who are given
@BOON70 I know the temple walk, and I have a secret name. Want to know it? The spirit of God is among the people of God, not the experts, the ordained, apostles or prophet. Those with faith in the eternal God are "the bride of Christ, the temple built without hands". Each individual is part of the temple and the faithfull together make up the holy temple.
@awolLDSasap Sermon on the Mount to pray and fast in secret, promising that "thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly" (Matt. 6:18). In John 7:10 we have Christ going somewhere in secret, not openly. He made a clandestine journey from Galilee to Jerusalem to attend the feast of tabernacles. John's account tells us that "when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret."
@BOON70 Are you kiddinG? You find Jesus sneaking around so he wouldn't be noticed and you think lds ceremonies and temple secrets came from this? INSANE. Jesus said that he NEVER taught any secrets..
@awolLDSasap mockery or be made the object of raillery by carnal men. We can, however, speak in general terms of what is done in temples; we can name the ordinances and tell their purpose and intent; and we can quote from the scriptures such passages as speak in guarded and reserved terms of those things which are reserved for the faithful only." ( The Mortal Messiah, Vol.1, p.104 - p.105, Bruce R. McConkie)
@BOON70 Wanna hear Packers parable? Jesus must be paid back for his sacrifice because he's the debt collector for the father. You need to stop believing these guys. Gods grace cannot be purchased by any means.
"Wanna hear Packers parable? Jesus must be paid back for his sacrifice because he's the debt collector for the father. You need to stop believing these guys. Gods grace cannot be purchased by any means."
@Shulamitefire He starts the clip off saying the Bible is a miracle. What he should have said it's a miracle I'm holding this up in conference and only doing it to show people we believe in some parts of the Bible.
@awolLDSasap Yes, as when there is a conflict between the Bible & other writings, even in regard to main & plain Holy Spirit admonition & teaching, such as the ontology of God & man & soteriology, the Bible is tossed. This error & contempt for the Bible is certainly one major mark of every cult. Mormons have exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like unto Mormon man. They have exchanged the truth of the One Beautiful God, worshiping & serving creation vs the Creator.
@Shulamitefire Well spoken.. Mormons completely fail to realize the wicked are not word of wisdom breakers, "that they dearly hold onto as a means of worthiness" but those who alter and redefine His Word.
@awolLDSasap Depends on why you mean by redefining his word. Question who wrote out the scriptures and taught them to the people before and after Christ? What were they called? Without the priesthood no man has the authority from God no man has the authority to preach the Gospel. Not only this men receive degrees at big colleges so they can preach and this is how they get their authority but what does it say in the scriptures? Heb 5:4 No man taketh this honor unto himself, but he that is called
@BOON70 You have completely failed. There was no priesthood authority with the apostles. Jesus was the authority. His spirit was left with the aposltes to help them remember what he had taught them and NO ONE changed the New Testament. Why do you need names of authority to separate you from the Spirit of God?
@awolLDSasap When you come to answer that you can not answer you don't think about it for a while or even say I will have to do some research on that. You just try to change the subject. How would you feel if I ignored your questions?
@awolLDSasap Then why did Christ have to set ppl out to baptize ppl? He also called them Elders. John the Baptist had to have been baptized by someone. I say you would know the scripture about Baptism being a essential for baptism. If so how was it done and how did John receive his authority. This also presents another question why did Jesus have to be baptized by John? If authority isn't important Christ could be baptized by some guy down the street. Why go through all the effort of being
@BOON70 John was called by God alone. He wasn't baptized by someone in authority. He wasn't baptized at all. To be baptized, "you put on Christ" to become a follower of Jesus. Mormon doctrine has clouded your mind.
@awolLDSasap of God even as Aaron. How did Aaron receive the priesthood? This much I do not he didn't go to some school to receive a piece of paper that said he received it.
@awolLDSasap If the apostles didn't have authority they would not be able to baptize. Gal. 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. I asked you why they have the names because supposedly you know more about than I do, but if you go to about any Mormon they can answer this question. You also act as if you know more about my religion than I do. These are simple questions, but yet can't answer them.
@BOON70 Answering all of your questions. That's correct. Baptism shows that you are a follower of Christ, "put on Christ". You don't need anyone in authority to baptize. NO ONE baptized John the Baptist. Joseph and Sidney invented the lineage of authority. Your authority is not real. Don't keep asking the same questions.
@BOON70 I said no one baptized John the baptist. John was the Elijah figure who is the same as Elias.Luk 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. John the baptist was chosen by God, "never baptized" to be the precursor to the Lord.
@awolLDSasap Where does it say John the Baptist wasn't baptized? So this is an assumption you make otherwise hearsay. But what we do read that Christ was baptized. Why was Christ baptized? Of all people he didn't have to put on Christ because he was the Christ. So why then why was he baptized?
It's a miracle that Mormons use the Bible when Jr. claimed that it wasn't translated correctly..

Its also used in Wicca.
beatleman69 4 months ago
@beatleman69 You probably never knew but an upright pentagram was considered a symbol of good luck originally (only inverted pentagrams were considered unlucky), and the "All-Seeing Eye" which you fools call Satanic is called the Eye of Providence, which is in fact a symbolism of the Christian God. "Satanism" was invented as a hoax in the 19th century. Then 20th century cults played along with the joke and called themselves "Satanists". The true Satanists of this world don't use symbols...
shiverleaf15 4 months ago
@beatleman69 Also, pretty much about everyone knows what goes on in Masonic lodges these days. There's nothing "hidden" anymore. Since it's been discovered that Masons actually do not do anything Satanic in their lodges, conspiracy theorists now have to forcibly adhere to the hypothesis that "only 33rd degree Freemasons are actually Luciferian" which is completely bogus. Did you go on Wikipedia yet and typed in "Taxil Hoax" yet? Please do, it'll do you some good.
shiverleaf15 4 months ago
@shiverleaf15 Watch this video, if you cannot see the satanic/masonic connection with mormonism, then you are blind. youtube.com/watch?v=lRgi0XT8Fg8 There is no conspirity theorist here, just hard evidence!
beatleman69 4 months ago
@beatleman69 When i try to load that link it just takes me straight to the Youtube main page. Anyway, i'm interested to see so-called "evidence" about Satanic influences in Mormonism or even Freemasonry for that matter. I've seen so much "evidence" and then done my own research and uncovered it all to be libel. Stop slandering Freemasons and Latter-day Saints. Like i said, all attempts to link Masons with Satan are bogus. Much of it has even been DISPROVEN as fraudulent hoaxes (e.g. Taxil Hoax).
shiverleaf15 4 months ago

Do I see freemason influences here since freemasons are luciferian.
beatleman69 7 months ago
@beatleman69 Freemasons are not Luciferian. I know where you are getting these ideas from. Conspiracy theories, yes? They got it from Albert Pike (a Freemason), supposedly. But the truth is, a man named Leo Taxil published the quote in a book "exposing" Freemasonry, claiming Pike made the quote, and then that man came out and said the entire book was a hoax to attack Freemasons and make fun of Catholics when they fell into the trap of thinking the book was real. Look it up, the Taxil Hoax.
shiverleaf15 4 months ago
@shiverleaf15 Sorry but freemasons are luciferian. For one thing they have "secrets" that they are forbiden to tell any outsider, if you have noticed yet on their temples and on freemasons cars they have a inverted pentegram, a symbol of satanism. They deny Jesus Christ as deity (God), they use the all seeing eye of Isiris, the ancient egyptian god. They refer their head of their lodges as worshipful master. Look up freemasons on youtube and/or google it, you'll find out they are luciferian.
beatleman69 4 months ago

I have a few questions for the Protestants lurking around here trying to convert Latter-day Saints:
1. Which Protestant sect is the correct Christian church guided by God, possessing the correct interpretation of the Bible?
2. How can you know?
3. How do you know Christianity is correct? The Old Testament alone doesn't seem to prove Christianity, just ask any Jew.
4. Having rejected the LDS concept of the Holy Spirit's promptings and testimony, how does God answer your prayers? How do you know?

@shiverleaf15 i will try to respond your questions briefly and if you would like to talk more about them i
would be happy to if time allows i am tired and need to sleep soon however 1 the church is not a denomination but the body of Christ the key thing that makes them true is who Jesus is and was, God in the flesh alpha and omega the creator of everything this is where the lds beliefs fall short and you do indeed follow another Christ if you are lds.

I think that's a bit hypocritical of you.

@shiverleaf15 you are wrong. completely wrong. jerusalem was a walled city; this means everything inside the walls was jerusalem. everything else isn't. go read micah 5:2-5, matthew 2:1, or luke 1:4-6 then go read alma 7:10. the fact that we have the dead sea scrolls, tanakh, torah, talmud, targums, and vulgate (over 26,000 manuscripts in all that comprise the cannon of biblical text) for us to refer to is all the proof you need.
yourelameface 4 months ago
@yourelameface Luke 2:4 calls Jerusalem the city of David. 2 Kings 14:20 and 1 Chronicles 11:5 call Jerusalem the city of David. Several Bible scholars and Christians consider the town of Bethlehem to be sort of like a "suburb" of Jerusalem. The BoM says Jesus was born in the land of Jerusalem, not in the city.
shiverleaf15 4 months ago
@shiverleaf15 nope. "and behold, he shall be born of mary at jerusalem which is the land of our forefathers..." never in the entire bible is this city referred to as a land. the city of david reference is in regards to both the birth place of david (bethlehem) while the other was conquered by david (city of jebus). within the 1 chronicles passage the cities are set apart. v5 points out david was at the stronghold (jerusalem) while v16 says the philistines were at bethlehem. there is distinction.
yourelameface 4 months ago

Do you "reveal" anything new? (besides "no multiple piercings, for little girls & women"??)
Do you See anything, as a Seer?
Anciently, a prophet who did not prophesy was no prophet
A Seer who did not "See" was no Seer
A Revelator who did not reveal was no revelator.

@Noffy1111 I find your statements incredibly interesting.
1) Not every detail can be a lie, since the Book of Mormon can be considered the keystone of the LDS religion.
2) I am always fascinated and amused by men and women who try to prove the existence of God via the science of men, as if things of faith can ever really be proven through such things- if they were, what you believe would not be faith, because to know something or have it proven does not require faith.
thatshilarious867 1 year ago
@Noffy1111 Actually, there is no proof that either of these places bore any historical significance to biblical events; there are only conjectures, and possibilities.
Most of the "history" of the bible is just assumed- there isn't much we actually know about the people or events in it that would make it much more than a myth, besides our belief that it is real. The same is true for the other scriptures.

Friberg published an explanation of his works in the December 1952 issue of the Children’s Friend, with four illustrations following in the January through April 1953 issues. Another four paintings appeared in the first four months of 1954, but the final four were published intermittently from 1961 through 1963.
omiolo 1 year ago

Shulamitefire 1 year ago
@Noffy1111 What evidence do you have of the only temple is to be built on Mount Moriah? I didn't see you quote any scriptures? Sounds like hear say to me.
BOON70 1 year ago
@Noffy1111 about the book of Enoch. Was Enoch called by God to a prophet? If so wouldn't that mean the words of Enoch or inspired?
BOON70 1 year ago
@Noffy1111 I quote the Bible and its teaching and you ignore them. Like I said before you only go over what you want. Question why is there no mention of what I talked about over Matt 17, Heb 5, Matt 7 just like I said you only go over what you like. You only went over one of the many scriptures I brought up like I said I can quote you where you try and twist things to bend to your own views. Its not hard either because you do it in practically every post. Again why didn't you answer my question
BOON70 1 year ago
@Noffy1111 them that the truths they had been taught in this glorious experience shouldn't be discussed with others. On other occasions the Lord told his disciples "that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ," (Matt 16:20, Mark 7:36, Luke 9:21). Sometimes, after he performed miraculous healings, Christ required that the event be kept secret. For instance, after healing a leper (Matt. 8:2-4), he said, "see thou tell no man," (Mark 5:43, Mark 7:36). The Lord counseled us in the
BOON70 1 year ago
@Noffy1111 So Noffy when you going to answer that question I asked you? A Biblical case in point is what occurred on the Mount of Transfiguration (Matt. 17:1-9). There, God the Father's voice was heard testifying that Jesus was His Beloved Son. Moses and Elias also appeared to the three apostles and Jesus on that occasion. Later, Christ admonished Peter, James and John to "tell the vision to no man, until the Son of Man be risen again from the dead" (Matt. 17:9). Clearly he was telling
BOON70 1 year ago
@Noffy1111 Question odd I am asking someone on this same page the same question. Why did the apostles continue to go to the temple after the death of Christ? Question to you both the temple is sacred. As we know in the Old Testament only certain people were aloud inside the temple why?
BOON70 1 year ago
@BOON70 As a Mormon, you have been taught that obedience to laws and ordinances of the lds gospel, you become sinless and worthy, and given a temple recommend as proof. yet. 1Jo 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. As a mormon, you must purchase worthiness and repay God for the work he did. yet, God... 2Ti 1:9 Who hath saved us, not according to our works, but according to his,,,, grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus....
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@awolLDSasap a temple recommend are people that are in good standing but does say anywhere they have to perfect. There is a few things however of a serious nature that would keep you from getting a recommend though. I find it odd that you try and talk about stuff you have no idea about. Its like you trying to explain physics to me that I took 4 years in college and 2 years in high school. I enjoy science because it excites my mind and curiosity.
BOON70 1 year ago
@BOON70 Temple recommends are club cards. Pay as you go to keep the membership. I'm not the one that is misinformed. With all of your skoolin, how can you reject facts about Josephs foibles and the history of the church? How can you read the New Testament and still believe that Jesus is Satans spirit brother and the atonement was in the Garden? I'll try to make this as simple as possible.. Jesus is patiently waiting for you.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@awolLDSasap A question I asked to you both that I have to answer because you just wish twist things to whatever you want to say. Why did Christ speak in parables? Not all of us are at the same point in our spiritual maturity. That is why Christ said, regarding his parables, that some are ready to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of heaven, but to others "it is not given" (Matt 13:11). The Bible clearly teaches that people need to be prepared for knowledge of greater truth before it is revealed
BOON70 1 year ago
@BOON70 You think lds secrets are similar to the parables? That's wishfull thinking. Mormons aren't spiritually discerned. They don't realize that God is in charge of everything and there is no spirit prison.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@awolLDSasap Do you believe in an afterlife?
thatshilarious867 1 year ago
@awolLDSasap Anciently, the prophet Ezekiel declared, "Thus saith the Lord GOD; No stranger, uncircumcised in heart, nor uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into my sanctuary" (Ezek. 44:9)
BOON70 1 year ago
@BOON70 So what. Some mormons haven't been circumcized. Are you keeping them out of your temples? I don't think so..
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@awolLDSasap Well, actually, the Atonement was in the garden of Gethsemane and on the cross. It took place in two parts, if you will.
thatshilarious867 1 year ago
@thatshilarious867 Is that why the garden is mentioned once or twice, and the cross is mentioned over 20 times? WRONG ATONEMENT, WRONG JESUS, WRONG SALVATION. Listen to what Isaiah said about the Son. Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, THE MIGHTY GOD, THE EVERLASTING FATHER, The Prince of Peace.
Everlasting and Eternal God was never your spirit brother.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@thatshilarious867 The atonement started in the garden? Is that why He plead to the Father to remove the cup that was coming? Why not go all the way back to his birth and call that the atonement too?
Jesus was never your spirit brother

John 1:19-25 also shows that the Jews were familiar to baptism. Didn't Elisha tell Naaman to wash himself 7x in the river (2 Kings 5)? What about Isa 4:4? Baptism wasn't something new when John the
BOON70 1 year ago
@BOON70 John wasn't baptizing everyone. He was baptizing the Jews. When Jesus said you must be born of water, he was describing physical birth water. Makin up things again? God flooded the earth to kill every living thing. Are you physically destroyed when you're baptized? It was a punishment. I know what you're trying to push, and it's NOT EVEN CLOSE to the truth. @Kurama1 The doctrines continually change. Are you aware that God the Father had sex with Mary to create Jesus?

@moparmonster1965 haha.. they have some vaults up the canyon where they keep records on everyone.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
Are those the ones that are bomb-proof?
moparmonster1965 1 year ago
@moparmonster1965 The leaders of the church decided it was a good place to store records when they gathered granite to build the Salt Lake temple. They wouldn't survive a bunker buster. Member records, attendance, baptism, ordinations are stored & space leased to others. There is a private vault above the lds vault where companies and individuals lease space to store data, gold, silver, fossils, paintings, stuff like that. The private vault is stronger, monitored & guarded.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
We wouldn't want those filthy, dark, and loathesome Lamanites to steal any geneological records, now would we?
moparmonster1965 1 year ago
@moparmonster1965 The Utah church built the vault because they truely believed the second coming was right around the corner. At the same time, prophecy in the church grew at a fast pace. Stake leaders down to bishops were giving prophetic dreams. Church leaders had to stop the wannabe prophets. "There could be only 1 prophet of the church" DUH. The dreams tapered off, but some are retold in small groups today.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@moparmonster1965 Mormons do not believe that Jesus has all of the power. They believe in a priesthhood manpower that precedes the name of Jesus Christ in every "prayer blessing" that is given. Members of the church believe their priesthood has control over the whole world. The rest of the world just doesn't know about it yet.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
I think the best place to put that is The Onion, don't you? It'll fit right in with the rest of the satire.
moparmonster1965 1 year ago
@moparmonster1965 Satire yes.. It might raise some voter brows too.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@awolLDSasap "Mormons do not believe that Jesus has all of the power??????" Can't get much more inaccurate than that. The Priesthood is synonymous with HIS (not our) power ... they are one in the same.
Mormons simply believe that Jesus wants to share His power. Did not Jesus tell his apostles that they would do greater things than He? Did not Jesus say that we will sit on his right hand next to the Father?
In Gethsemane, did He not say that we may be One with Him AND the Father?
batterdown 1 year ago
@batterdown Which Jesus, the Jesus of Mormon, a creature/craftsman who is merely the manipulator of matter & is not the uncreated Creator of all creation ※ OR ※ the Jesus of Eternal Spirit of Holiness Biblical Revelation, WHO IS more glorious than the grand sum of all creation, that is & was, & ever shall be, in any & ever realm of reality & relevance‽ To Christians strong it is luminously clear the Monson movement of Moroni fails miserably at 2 Cor. 11 & throughout from Genesis to Revelation.

@Shulamitefire One specific question to shulamite: Does Jesus want to share His power with his followers or not?

@awolLDSasap We fight the falsehood of Mormonism that blatantly bastardizes Bible belief, grossly misrepresents the glory of the One True God, & door to door, on the internet, & elsewhere impishly bears false witness against the blessed & beloved body & bride of Christ. ※ If LDS do not get right Who The One True God Is how can they be the one true church? ※ They are not as they are dominated & driven by strong spirits of delusion. When their scriptures contradict the Bible they toss the Bible!
Shulamitefire 11 months ago
@Shulamitefire Saying this to you as well, as i said to two other people before you; you Protestants (and sometimes Catholics) always pull the "Bible contradiction" card to "disprove" the LDS church, but if you used your logic against yourself from the point of view of Judaism, Christianity (which Jews see as heavily contradictory with Old Testament scripture) would be "disproven".
shiverleaf15 9 months ago
@moparmonster1965 good to see yah.... I was recently reminded of a little snippet that I was taught in lds sunday school in the 60s. It was "Joseph Smith was a direct decendant of Jesus". It astonished me the first time I heard it, it sounds even more crazy rediculous today. Like Eden in Missouri and Noahs Ark built in the U.S. because of a place called Arkansas. I strive to teach Mormons the truth. Teasing them is an added bonus!
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
And remember that before Smith read John Lloyd Stephens' book "Incidents of Travel...," the BOM events were commonly believed to be set in America, conveniently around the Smith family farm. But now, the church has seemingly misplaced the entire Hill Cumorah and isn't sure if it's here or there, sort of like George Bush Jr. looking for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq: comical.

@moparmonster1965 I have to laugh when BYU or farms releases another theory. The stories spread through church publications as if these guys had discovered the Ark of the Covenant... Reading between the lines, it always says.. it might have been, it could have been, or, our finds are very similar to other cultures that existed somewhere in the world.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
And since FARMS is actually on the BYU campus, it's not hard to infer that the church has a direct pipeline to their publications and press releases. That's not exactly what I call inpartial. And the same goes for BYU itself; there's no way to insure honest and unbiased conclusions based on reality and available evidence as opposed to providing support for the church's position.
moparmonster1965 1 year ago
@moparmonster1965 They are closely watched and reviewed. The church would never release a story that might soften a members testimony, "brainwashing".
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
Back at you, brother.
Now that's a new one on me, but it was likely tied to the Jesus being a married polygamist concept that died a slow, lingering death after the church officially (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) gave up polygamy. Therefore, I shouldn't be suprised, but still, I am, just a little.
moparmonster1965 1 year ago
@moparmonster1965 Sandra Tanner has noted that her own grandfather and many others were practicing polygamy after the manifesto. There were members of the Utah church living in polygamy up to the 1950s. sly hypocrites.....
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
I'm also not suprised by this either. My wife's family were miners in Wyoming and there are at least three polygamists there, but I'll have to look at the book again to see if they were practicing past 1890.

BOON70 1 year ago
@BOON70 This is going in circles. The only thing that is important is Jesus. Isaiah said that he is the Mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. The priesthood, laws, ordinances, temples reject the sacrifice on the cross.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@awolLDSasap How does the temple reject what Christ did? Does not the work the apostles did after the resurrection of Christ show that the work of God was not yet finished? What about people who go and repent does this not show the work of God has not ceased? Those who go about and preach the word of God does this not show that the work of God has not ceased? If so they do the work of God in vain. But yet we see that Paul, Peter, others continue to go to the temple after Christ?
BOON70 1 year ago
@BOON70 Temple endowments add to the work that Jesus did. Jhn 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. Jhn 10:7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. There are no secrets to pass through the heavenly veil. Jesus is the only way to live with the Father.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@awolLDSasap John 10:1, 7 says nothing against endowments or the temple. What I find odd is many people say after Christ there was to be no more temples but yet the apostles continue to go to them after the death of Christ. Question what was the purpose of temples after Christ?
BOON70 1 year ago
@BOON70 John doesn't say anything against endowments? That's because there never were any. Why did the apostles go to the temple afterwards? To teach the people. After the cross, there was no need for a temple. Remember, a "new temple built without hands"? The aposltes never performed secret ceremonies anywhere in the Jewish temple. You are deluded.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@awolLDSasap Sometimes I wonder if you guys read the scriptures because you take things so out of context or only tell part of the story only the part you like. Temple without hands? You forgot to quote one verse John 2:21 But he spake of the temple of his body, he wasn't talking about the temple in Jerusalem. 1 Cor 6:9 it says our bodies are a temple of which the Holy Ghost can be if we are righteous. @BOON70 I know the temple walk, and I have a secret name. Want to know it? The spirit of God is among the people of God, not the experts, the ordained, apostles or prophet. John's account tells us that "when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret."

awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@awolLDSasap Yes, as when there is a conflict between the Bible & other writings, even in regard to main & plain Holy Spirit admonition & teaching, such as the ontology of God & man & soteriology, the Bible is tossed. This error & contempt for the Bible is certainly one major mark of every cult. Mormons have exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like unto Mormon man. They have exchanged the truth of the One Beautiful God, worshiping & serving creation vs the Creator.
Shulamitefire 1 year ago
@Shulamitefire Well spoken.. Mormons completely fail to realize the wicked are not word of wisdom breakers, "that they dearly hold onto as a means of worthiness" but those who alter and redefine His Word.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@awolLDSasap Depends on why you mean by redefining his word. Question who wrote out the scriptures and taught them to the people before and after Christ? What were they called? Without the priesthood no man has the authority from God no man has the authority to preach the Gospel. Not only this men receive degrees at big colleges so they can preach and this is how they get their authority but what does it say in the scriptures? Heb 5:4 No man taketh this honor unto himself, but he that is called
BOON70 1 year ago
@BOON70 You have completely failed. There was no priesthood authority with the apostles. Jesus was the authority. His spirit was left with the aposltes to help them remember what he had taught them and NO ONE changed the New Testament. Why do you need names of authority to separate you from the Spirit of God?
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@awolLDSasap When you come to answer that you can not answer you don't think about it for a while or even say I will have to do some research on that. You just try to change the subject. How would you feel if I ignored your questions?
BOON70 1 year ago
@BOON70 The lds line of authority is not real. You don't need priesthood authority to baptize someone.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@awolLDSasap Then why did Christ have to set ppl out to baptize ppl? He also called them Elders. John the Baptist had to have been baptized by someone. I say you would know the scripture about Baptism being a essential for baptism. If so how was it done and how did John receive his authority. This also presents another question why did Jesus have to be baptized by John? If authority isn't important Christ could be baptized by some guy down the street. Why go through all the effort of being
BOON70 1 year ago
@BOON70 John was called by God alone. He wasn't baptized by someone in authority. He wasn't baptized at all. To be baptized, "you put on Christ" to become a follower of Jesus. Mormon doctrine has clouded your mind.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@awolLDSasap of God even as Aaron. How did Aaron receive the priesthood? This much I do not he didn't go to some school to receive a piece of paper that said he received it.
BOON70 1 year ago
@BOON70 The Melch. and Aaronic priesthood names were stolen from the Bible. lds priesthood power is fake. YOU HAVE NO POWER or authority over anyone.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@awolLDSasap If the apostles didn't have authority they would not be able to baptize. Gal. 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. I asked you why they have the names because supposedly you know more about than I do, but if you go to about any Mormon they can answer this question. You also act as if you know more about my religion than I do. These are simple questions, but yet can't answer them.
BOON70 1 year ago
@BOON70 Answering all of your questions. That's correct. Baptism shows that you are a follower of Christ, "put on Christ". You don't need anyone in authority to baptize. NO ONE baptized John the Baptist. Joseph and Sidney invented the lineage of authority. Your authority is not real. Don't keep asking the same questions.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@awolLDSasap baptized by John?
BOON70 1 year ago
@BOON70 I said no one baptized John the baptist. John was the Elijah figure who is the same as Elias.Luk 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. John the baptist was chosen by God, "never baptized" to be the precursor to the Lord.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@awolLDSasap Where does it say John the Baptist wasn't baptized? So this is an assumption you make otherwise hearsay. But what we do read that Christ was baptized. Why was Christ baptized? Of all people he didn't have to put on Christ because he was the Christ. So why then why was he baptized?
