They are as Muslim as any other but yet enjoy many freedoms of a free nation while studying and becoming doctors, engineers, scientists, artists and athletes. The point is, as long as Islam and politics do not mix, people will have a peaceful and constructive life.

I see in america many muslim women cover themselves from head to toe in the middle of the summer heat. They choose to do so, I guess their believes are so strong that they rather torture themselves even that they have the choice to not do it. Well, some Muslim women follow the hijab by choice, but most of the women you see in America or Europe who follow hijab do so due to pressure from family (parents or husband).

I mean, imagine the freedom of expression for women coming from families that believe in honour killings. DO you really think those women wear something out of choice or by force? Do they have a say in anything? People endure a lot under societal pressures. But, Islam takes it to a whole new level.

Once I saw a lady working out in a gym totally covered. We all were wearing shorts and t-shirts and we were sweating a lot. Can you imagine her how much bacteria she must had. @pogularockyYes we Muslims are required to be clean in preparation for prayers. When we pray to our Creator Allah (swt) we have to be in pure condition. Purification is a sign of respect to Allah as one is clean in the presence of Him, during prayer. Muslims are also required to be clean when handling and reading the Quraan. Our Prophet (pbuh) said purity is half of faith.
