hey, sywars, I enjoyed watching the Dallas/Wings game last week. you are right, Ott and the rest of the team can be a fairly respectable team.
I didn't like the Brad May goal being dissallowed, but the Stars looked great.

there is a dallas/boston highlight on youtube that is about 10 minutes long, you should watch it. The Boston announcers are calling Ott anything they think they can get away with. It is hilarious.
I personally don't him him as long as he isn't playing dirty, which is hit and miss from what I have seen. similar to Darcy Tucker or Sidney Crosby.

Giving a guy a concussion with 10 seconds to go in the 3rd in his own zone.
This hit did not impress me, ruined the guy's career. It was a clean hit, but not respectful. this is the sort of thing they have to get out of the game.
This and the whole 'dump the puck in to the D-men, then blast them' strategy that every western team employed last year other than Detroit. If they had large forwards, they would have dome it too.

Well maybe the timing of the hit made it a little disrespectful, but there was no real intent to hurt him from Morrow. One stride, doesn't leave his feet, shoulder-to-chest, although it did jar him enough to cause a concussion.
Watch Phaneuf or Armstrong play. Better yet, watch any IIHF tournament involving Canada. They always go for the head, it's disgusting, that's what we need to get rid of first.

foxnotch, you are absolutely correct. My only point was was that there was only 10 seconds in the period, and Michalek was trying to clear his own zone. Morrow wasn't forechecking, he was just hitting.
I'm saying it was nasty, not dirty. But it had an effect. San Jose learned that they had to pay attention.
