so after moving out of home i need my own tablet >.> just wondering how you use this without a picture on screen ? ( i'm not professional i just enjoy drawing )
I want to buy a Graphics Tablet and I can't decide between the "Wacom Intuos 4" an the "Wacom Bamboo create". I'm going to use it for drawing, modeling and texturing, because I'm going to do a game art studie ( so I'm a amateur in this kind of stuff). Can somebody please give me spme advise on with to choice.
dududududude i was sooo in love with intous and yes i did buy one ... today just bought it and finished installation :P ... lol ... hi 5....and yea i saw your review :P ...peace
Hi i am planing to buy one next week but small one . Someone suggested to buy bamboo create it has more Active area , The active area is great for bamboo , but i really need more pressure level . the question is , Should i go with intous4 or bamboo create ?
I don't know if the small active area will effect my creativity . Thanks
@jamalanimation You should get the bamboo create. The guy was right it does have active area but the pressure level is actually similar to the intuos4. When your actually drawing on it you dont notice. The intuos is really disturbing because the usb cable gets loose like really loose. I recommend the bamboo create so far my favorite tablet
Drawing with such tablets like intuso/bamboo is ridicolous. Time consuming and you'll never be able to draw to your full potential. You're better off buying the new MOUSE pen's, $50 that allow you to have as much space as you want to which is your entire table. Unlike wacom which charges you about $400 for a full size tablet.
@besttabletinworld Those might be okay for scribbling notes to yourself, but if you're a digital artist, you're going to have to pony up. I've been using a Medion (50$), but now that I'm getting a little better as an artist, I'm noticing that with the relatively low LPI/pressure sens. I can't get the values I want in my drawings without "cheating" with opacity etc. The pens you're selling (I'm assuming) are 50$ for a reason. Compare the specs -- worlds apart.
The best tablet is the Asus EP 121. I've finally found after looking endlessly for such a tablet for a reasonable price. You won't find a ipad or other tablets where you can rest you palm/hand on the screen while drawing. Its unnatural for your hand not rest on the screen which makes drawing/coloring hard so this is the solution. Though if more people buy this tablet the lower the price will go. Its pressure sensitive and allows photoshop. Its a little over a $1000. Draw easy and quickly.
@danradl Cool. Thanks. I have the bamboo pen at this time. The small version of intuos seems larger than the bamboo pen. Thanks again for the response.
You can check my photography work @ vvvvvv.adrianzaharoa.ro
@danradl thanks :D, U know i just gt insulted for commenting on a video that it is pretty nice and ur friendly little smile face makes me feel better, I can actually imagine u smiling... :D :D
Thank you! I've been browsing forever for a deasent review of this tablet. Youes is the mini tablet, right? A question though, is it win7 compatible? At my local dealer it was only vista, mac and XP(!) listed as compatible systems, but the medium size tablet clearly said win7. I hope it just was a typo as i only need the small tablet. Thanks again :-)
My Intuos4 is on it's way. Do you know of a backpack that has a suitable pocket for this and a laptop? I know there is not one specifically made for an Intuos, but do you know of one that works?
For a start? Take a bamboo, if you really get into digital art, get a bigger intuos or cintiq, depending on your budget. Another advantage of the bamboo is that there are some with pen and touch interface, so they offer you touch gestures like that apple touch pad and the precision of a graphic tablet via the pen. Even when you upgrade to a intuos you may find the bamboo still useful for the touch interface.
Bought mine today, and it's already in the mail. I've used these at my uni, and I have to say, they are excellent pieces of hardware. Before now I have never had access to a tablet full time, and have had to work around my schedule in order to practice with one. When I saw that the Intuos 4 Medium was on sale for considerably less money than standard, I jumped on it. I don't foresee regretting that decision in the slightest.
Thanks so much for that indepth review. I'll be ordering mine at the end of the month and can't wait. This technology is totally new to me and I'm looking forward to embracing this amazing device!
Nice review! I wasn't gonna buy one because of the nib issue but I got a third party plastic cover and now it's fine. Much better pressure sensitivity in photoshop than the intuos 3.
question, to make a mark you press the pen down obviously, but how do you move you mouse or pointer along without touching the tablet, does it follow the pen or do you have to push a button? do understand what i am saying? plz help.
That's a great review.Ty. I've never owned a tablet before and decided to save up for a intuos4 to spark my motivation to draw more. But I wasn't sure if I would get it lol. Your review explains a lot of the cool nifty options the tablet offers. My partner says I should go for a cintiq but those are way too expensive for a noob freelance illustrator T_T.
Btw I read some reviews of people complaining that the nibs have to be replaced sooner with the Intuos4 because of the new surface.
did you notice how hard the buttons are to push? I used the intuos3 and was used to the nice clicky soft touch of the buttons. I dont like at all how hard the buttons are to push!!! I swear I am using my whole arm to push the buttons.
very nice review but if you dont mind i figured id point out a few things, i don't know if this applies to a mac but i used a wacom intuos 3 with windows and the scroll bar on it allowed me to scroll up and down on web pages, saying that it was very touchy though. Also if im not mistaken ambidextrous is pronounced ambi-dex-trus. Good video though this is my first time seeing one of your videos did you design your own website?
On this tablet if you are drawing on it can you see your drawing on the tablet as well? and can you draw without having to hook it up to the computer?

great review, love the detailed descriptions of all these functions. I had no idea about the detail mode or the difference in the tooth of the tablet surface. Ive got an intuos 3 already and Ive been holding off getting one. One question. how does the sensitivity improvement actual feel compared to the intuos 3? thats a major selling point for me as Ive heard its kind of hard to notice the difference despite it being doubled.
@thegobanana i am currently wondering wether or not i am going for the small or medium. therefor i wanted to ask you if there are any difference between the small and medium besides the LEDs and the size of course. also if you keep your pen levitated just a cm above the board will it act like an ordinary mouse?
Thanks for the review! This is amazing! I like how you relate the way people draw with the rotation command. Not much reviewers bring that up. Yours is very simple, which makes it very easy to understand. Again, thanks for the review and just from watching this, I think I'll go get one!
great review and basic tutorial, though I found it quite funny that you don't use it to sketch anything day to day.. well, I guess they stopped calling them a drawing tablet for a reason.
let me ask all those wackthem users. What benefit does a wedding photog have to use this with PS? I don't need sketching I basically do shortcuts with the keyboard. Why would I need a tablet. As much as I like the idea i'm not certain I would take advantage of most features.
so after moving out of home i need my own tablet >.> just wondering how you use this without a picture on screen ? ( i'm not professional i just enjoy drawing )

great review and basic tutorial, though I found it quite funny that you don't use it to sketch anything day to day.. well, I guess they stopped calling them a drawing tablet for a reason.
And its 'ambi-dex-truss' : )

let me ask all those wackthem users. What benefit does a wedding photog have to use this with PS? I don't need sketching I basically do shortcuts with the keyboard. Why would I need a tablet. As much as I like the idea i'm not certain I would take advantage of most features.
