I Dont hate sonic's friends there just trying to help... Although every time a hear "that looks like a homing attack", I want to kill one of them...the thing is they can be annoying sometimes but other times there fine.

The comment about City Escape was part of a positive point about how you can chage the music. 8.5 is a bloody good score, they gave the same thing to Black Ops for gods sake.
IGN reviewers will give any game flak if it isn't a AAA blockbuster game like BF3, Call of Duty: MW3, or Skyrim. I own all the games aforementioned, but let's face it, you eventually get sick of serious games like this and just want to sit down and play some sonic with a side of nostalgia.
Things that I disagree with: Sonic had been doing pretty well since 2009, all the songs aren't too bad and the remixes for City Escape are fine, Classic Sonic is more Sonic 2 and Modern Sonic is More Unleashed, The controls aren't too bad but they can be improved also don't try and say the game is bad based on your first play through, There's 7 Bosses more than Sonic 1, The "dumb" friends mission (Besides Vector's) are fine.
This is the only peice of evidence I can think of, where IGN actually reveiws something correctly. Most of the time they are so easily swayed with money *COUGHCoDCOUGH*, that they are given the phrase,"You can't spell ignorant without IGN", by most of the gaming community.

@TehComentar They didn't take points from the game for it being "too hard". They took off points for difficulty spikes. If you don't know what that is, it's an unbalanced pacing of the game. One level you play can be too easy, the next can be ridiculously, then the other can be easier than the first two. Why do sonic fans ALWAYS get this wrong?

Classic Sonic here is like the one in Sonic 4 because you can get the Homing Attack for it, and it has Spin-Dash.
Modern Sonic is like the one in Sonic Colors, with the Wisp powers mostly removed. It has a Boost Meter (like Sonic Colors), and the gameplay perspective shifts from 2.5D to 3D and back.
He said ESSENTIALLY. That doesn't mean that half the game IS Sonic 4 and half of it IS Sonic Colors.

I was totally on board until he knocked City Escape. I don't really remember many bosses in the few Sonic games I played anyway, and to be fair, most were Dr. Robotnik/Eggman in a different robot. few bosses? Since when was sonic the hedehog about the bosses? The bosses throughout every sonic game was ALWAYS easy. I've never come across a sonic game where the boss was harder. It's just how sonic is. It's about being fast. It's hard to be fast fighting a boss. as for controls. When moving quickly, it's not exactly easy to be pinpoint accurate with controls. In 2d sonics, it was easy, you only had to hold down 1 button and jump frequently. 3d involves direction.

Sonic isn't very responsive, especially on the side-scroll levels moving right to left / left to right on foot and in the air feels delayed and unresponsive - and he feels like he weighs 300lbs especially when jumping on item boxes... unlike Sonic The Hedgehog 1, 2, 3 and Knuckles (MegaDrive/Genisis) where he was very responsive and very light, those were the best ever Sonics!
As for my previous comments and complaints I retract them because after switching to a wired ps3 controller the games plays beautifully this games a great tribute to one of my favorite games of alllll time !

The controls as modern sonic are a bit clunky when not going fast. The boss fights were kinda lacking. They were too easy. The only one that took more then the first try was the last just cause I ran outev rings since they were too easy to miss. I'm just glade sonic has a respectable game again.

and the boss battles are gonna be dumbed down abit. do you really want to go through EVERY SINGLE end boss being as hard as they were before? i would probably rage quit over 9000 times. i dont suck, i've beaten all the sonics and most of the new (unfortunately never got my hands on any of the adventures) and i do NOT want to fight super nega sonic and solarus again in the same game with the same difficulty (lack of difficulty for solaris)

I was totally on board until he knocked City Escape. I don't really remember many bosses in the few Sonic games I played anyway, and to be fair, most were Dr. Robotnik/Eggman in a different robot. Seeing as he's not there most of the time, but doing dark things involving the "purple monster", I can forgive that.
Looks worth a week-long rent at least.

few bosses? Since when was sonic the hedehog about the bosses? The bosses throughout every sonic game was ALWAYS easy. I've never come across a sonic game where the boss was harder. It's just how sonic is. It's about being fast. It's hard to be fast fighting a boss. as for controls. When moving quickly, it's not exactly easy to be pinpoint accurate with controls. In 2d sonics, it was easy, you only had to hold down 1 button and jump frequently. 3d involves direction.

Sonic isn't very responsive, especially on the side-scroll levels moving right to left / left to right on foot and in the air feels delayed and unresponsive - and he feels like he weighs 300lbs especially when jumping on item boxes... unlike Sonic The Hedgehog 1, 2, 3 and Knuckles (MegaDrive/Genisis) where he was very responsive and very light, those were the best ever Sonics!

People get so easily offended. Almost the whole review praised this game yet the few things he picks out to be bad throws people in to a fit. The controls as modern sonic are a bit clunky when not going fast. The boss fights were kinda lacking. They were too easy. The only one that took more then the first try was the last just cause I ran outev rings since they were too easy to miss. I'm just glade sonic has a respectable game again.

Umm NO, just no. Classic Sonic is not like Sonic 4. it is much better then Sonic 4! And What is with this running fast? I guess only if you are good at the game and know the level, but you got to just take the platforming slowly if ya want to do good in your first few play through.

and the boss battles are gonna be dumbed down abit. do you really want to go through EVERY SINGLE end boss being as hard as they were before? i would probably rage quit over 9000 times. i dont suck, i've beaten all the sonics and most of the new (unfortunately never got my hands on any of the adventures) and i do NOT want to fight super nega sonic and solarus again in the same game with the same difficulty (lack of difficulty for solaris)
