  • Nice demo! :)

How did you drill the holes in the enclosure?

  • @MrOfekDeitch Just using a nice drill... it´s hard to do, but it´s just it...

  • @miltonmorales Ok thanks :)

  • Dude I'd love to know where you learned this stuff, maybe also see the inside of your pedal for a refrence?

  • @Covers4Christ Dude, the best way to learn about "how to mod your wah" is in the links that I put in the video info... take a look... cheers...

  • @miltonmorales

Haha, WOW OW DID I MISS THAT? thanks, do they talk at all about how you put a pot there instead of a set resistor?

  • @Covers4Christ I don´t know, but to put the pot you just need to put the wires on the board and on the pot... that´s it... where goes the resistor, you put the wires that will be "clued" on the pot... I hope it helps... cheers!!!

  • No, like what kind of resistor to use instead of the 1.5K.

  • @ty2drew Dude, I use a 5k TRIMPOT... it´s the best choice, in my opinion...

  • What do you do to keep 99.999% of the sweep in the mids? (Tom Morello's wah stays in the mids like this)

  • @ty2drew Dude, where in the video the sweep keeps in the mids? In this video, I use a lot of settings with the mods, so, everytime the settings are different...

  • @miltonmorales Thanks A lot man.... I just changed it to a 47K and it sounds really nice. Its not too sharp, and its not too bassy either, its just right. THANKS A LOT!

  • @Necroborgie Dude, nice to know that I could help you... rock on!!! \m/

  • @MiltonMorales Which Mod is best to get rid of the Sharp Shrill Highs of the Wah when on clean, It really hurts my ears.

  • @Necroborgie Dude, I don´t understand your question... Do you want more or less highs on clean stuff?

  • @miltonmorales I want lesser Highs, Thanks.

  • @Necroborgie Dude, the best MOD to get less highs is the 33k resistor MOD, that one near to the inductor, as you can see at the beginning of the video. In mine, I put a pot to change values between 0 and 100k. However, you can just change to a higher value, as 47k, like the Vox, wich give you less highs at the top end. Cheers!!!

  • What is your distortion pedal? I know this is totally off topic, but I loved the tone of it.

  • @WolfX316 Dude, the distortion is a Marshall Jackhammer... it´s a really good pedal... ;]

  • what type of toggle did you use for each mod amd where did you buy them thanks tony

  • @strat626970 Dude, I used mostly DPDT switchs and bought in a eletronic store... on Small Bear´s web site you can find everything you need to do all the mods... cheers!

  • Estou com uma dúvida, talvez vc possa me ajudar.

Fiz as mudanças no meu pedal:

Obrigado. abrasss

  • great demo of the available mods, thank you!

did i miss it or have you done the mid boost mod, too?

i have a jh-1b wah and will try the vocal mod, more gain and mid boost mod as described by stinkfoot.. but i don't know it this will add too much bass..

  • Man, I did the mid boost mod, but a little diferent... I put a 5k trimpot to choose a value with the best sound for me...

... the mid mod don´t put much bass in the tone... however, the gain mod put more body, so, be careful with this mod...

    Cheers e good luck... ;]

  • @miltonmorales

    Thanks =)

I think I won't use trimpots because I don't wanna mess with the wah enclosure. I'll do the mid boost and the vocal mod first and then hear if I need more gain/bass.

  • Compliments!!!!! Great video, very useful!!!

  • nice shoes good mod

  • Thanks, man... hehehe

  • Can anybody get near Tom Morrello's (Rage against the machine) wah tone?

  • Man, I don't know very well how sounds the Morello's wah... however, in Be Yourself's solo it's possible to hear a skinny wah, similar to the cap. 8nf that I show in this video...

  • Thanks! Its an 1980's wah and it sounds brilliant. He plays it through the effects loop on his marshall. Strange because when I put mine there its terrible.. i put mine in front before distortion. I would love to know what he has done to it! cheers

  • @mcewanschampion

He does not run any effects in his loop anymore. The wah has always been in front of the amp. And it's a bone stock early 80's Crybaby.

  • Tom morello has a standard crybaby but for some reason he said this random crybaby sounded way different from the rest.

  • man i never knew so many great mods for my wah. i always didn't like it. it sounded pretty bad and not smooth. im doing the true bypass and the led mods first. this is awesome. too bad the summer is almost over =.=

  • Parabéns pelo vídeo e pelas mods, cara! Ficaram muito boas!

  • is it possible to mod this with the following?:

    Q control

    toe frequency

    heel frequency

    and possibly sweep

    thx man

  • Dude, all the good stuff are here, in my opinion... you can hear the MODs and do what you like more with the instructions that has in VIDEO INFORMATION...

... Q control is the same that I did with de capacitors... and the best thing to frequency to me is put a 100k pot. on the place of the 33k resistor, that stays near of inductor...

... I hope it helps... cheers!!!

  • Just ordered one a couple days ago =] should have it today or monday

  • How did you put the Red Fasel inductor in and have the Stock Inductor in at the same time?

  • thanks for posting, nice demonstration

i'm going to be doing these mods today, so its helps to see what the changes will sound like

nice to see the difference between inductors, seems like the fasel is a bit more 'quacky'

  • Thanks, Dude... ;]

  • What kind of pots did you use (linear, audio, etc.) and how did you hook them up: where the resistor is supposed to be?

  • I use a linear pot... and the 33k resistor is near of the inductor... take a look in the links that I put on the INFORMATIONS tab, cause there you´ll find some pics that shows the exactly place of the resistor...

    Cheers!

  • Hi, im trying to mod my gcb 95. I am having trouble getting the 100K pot to work in place of the 33K resistor. There are 3 pins on the pot. I read that I only have to use the middle and one of the outside pins. checking with a multimeter the, unplugged pot reads between 0 and 100K like it should. When I solder the same leads to the pcb, the resistance value always reads 0 and it makes the pedal sound like crap. What am i doing wrong?

  • I am not 100% sure, but I think you have to ground it somehow (look on blogs or something). I usually don't work a lot with pots...

  • Good idea... ill experiment and see what I can come up with. Thanks

  • do you need to put it this way: guitar -> distortion pedal -> wah -> amp??

  • Dude, I don´t like how the wah sounds after the distortion... I prefer it before... ;]

    Cheers!

  • what amp u using?

  • Dude, of course this is a GCB-95, but with some MODs, as informed... this swicthes are the MODs...

  • buying it today :)

  • how much is a cry baby

  • awesome

  • Thanks, dude... ;]

  • Great sound and guitar playing 5/5

  • Thanks, man...

  • EXCELLENT video my friend! This is really going to help me. I appreciate you posting Amigo!

  • Thanks, man... cheers!!!

  • Boa noite meu velho!

Aonde eu poderia levar pra fazer tal modificação?

  • Grande Juneca, tudo certo? ;]

    guitarra-wha-distorsion-ampli

    o

    guitarra-distorsion-wha-ampli

    ???

    de todas formas felicitaciones ..

    saludos!!

  • El orden es:

    guitarra-wha-distorsion-ampli

    Gracias... ;]

  • Did you have any problem with noise or hum with the extra wires in there? also what brand pots did you use? Thanx. And what. no Led? ha ha.

  • My friend, I don´t have problems with noise or hum. There is a GAIN MOD that can bring you with noise, but just if you put the pot at MAX. About the pots, I don´t remember the brand I bought, but was the cheapest in the market... hehehe...

... ah, an there is a led, but in the other side of wah... \m/

  • yeah, I was reading about that. what was said was to replace the 33k with a trimpot. Whay not put a 100 k there and drill a hole to the outside. nice.

  • Thanks, man... hehehe ;]

A mod pro wah do Hendrix?

  • Vlw!

  • hey how much does it cost?

  • If you do the mod´s, not so much...

  • There's a modded Crybaby on eBay UK now. Check out item number 160260181842

  • at least wear a good looking shoe :P

  • Hehehe... thanks, man... cheers!

    simples assim ?

  • Cara, vou te responder por tópicos:

    - paguei o wah novo por R$399,00... quanto aos MOD´s, não me recordo o custo de todos eles;

    - não tenho noção do custo da mão de obra, nem sei se ele ainda faz esse tipo de trabalho;

    - cara, aumentar e diminuir os valores de resistores e capacitores modificam o som como podes ver no vídeo, dando mais ou mais graves, ou mais agudos, ou etc., enfim, tudo que está vídeo;

    4) sim, é simples para selecionar, basta ver como faço isso no vídeo.

    Abs!

  • Thanks for this great video.

  • I'm very impressed by your wah sound. But can you explain to me how you did the red fasel mod? I know how to put it in, but I don't know how to combine and switch between the red and the original inductor. Thank you very much :D

  • Man, a friend of mine made this MOD for me, so, I can´t explain how to do cause I don´t know how to do. However, I have to tell you, I have other wah and I just put the FASEL, cause I never use the original inductor. I think FASEL really better. Cheers...

  • dude i cant believe how many mods you loaded that pedal with haha. love the switches etc.

  • AWESOME video. Love the way you go nuts at the end. Am currently planning mods for mine, and have been searching for a video/sound clip A/B-ing the different sounds that each change makes. This is perfect. I'm planning to mount controls on the outside too. Do you have a photo of the internals? I'd love to see how you fitted everything into the enclosure. If you could email me one that would be great. email is my username at gmail. Thanks.

  • My friend, thanks for your words. Unfortunately, I don´t have any pic of the internals. I can search, but I don´t remember has taked any picture. On the internet you can find the "how-to" and some pics that can help you. Cheers...
