I use an F1 as my primary knife at work teaching bushcraft to children so it gets a lot of use daily. I have the leather sheath and despite running through forest, climbing trees, grabby children, it has never given a hint of breaking. I love the thing and even hammered into a tree and stood on it to reach something once (I later repeated that for a demo for the children. I also own the Mora triflex, and i can easily get it sharper, just with time and patience, but it keeps an edge for longer
For a survival knife, wouldn't you want something besides a high carbon knife? I always thought high carbon rusts fast without oil. Is that knife high carbon? Also, is that knife slippy without a guard? Great video and I hope to get feedback, thanks.
@VertPimpin Its not carbon but a stainles steel knife and no its not slippy in my opinion, it got no maintenance just clean it up and sharpen. Glad I have the satin finish btw ,I would recommend that unless you are a soldier or anythin.
@VertPimpin its a swedish survival knife! here in sweden a carbon knife just is not a good option. on the summer it rain Alot! and on the winter it gets really cold and theres alot of snow. so a carbon knfie would not be a optional survival knife and specially not for the millitary here in sweden. carbon knifes would just rost all the time. i dont own this knife Yey but i will buy it in like 3 days. i dont know if its high carbon but it is stainless so i think its not, but im not sure.
Bought a satin finish in Berlin, check out Leatherworld on ebay uk, wow he made me a sexy sheath for this knife, horizontal with firesteel and dc4 holder all in black! looks alot like bear grylls knife sheath cost me 50 pounds to add to the price of the knife 90 pounds I know that is expensive, however I feel naked without it, and love it so much, that question...what item would you take to a desert island this knife no question.
I have the S1 forest knife in VG10 steel, without the black coating, awesome knife. I just wish the handle was bigger, to small for my XL hands. It's still an outstanding knife..
This is my favorite knife in my collection. I don't fully agree with the part about the thickness of the handle - I think it's prefect for me considering the size of the blade but that's all a matter of preference. My only negative feedback on the knife is that the lanyard hole is a little too far up the handle and you can't really use it as your fingers cover the hole. Other than that I absolutely love this blade!
@JamesBerkey just a whetstone will do ...

Fallkniven now also makes a really nice dangler style leather sheath without the flap for the F1. Check it out on their website. It's called F1eo.
