Wow, that woman is unprofessional, idiot, rude, and insensitive. She should be fired, but I think doctors will defend her anyway. What a civilization world we live in! They need to be more sensitive to mothers as their babies are their precious gifts.
@CNS2CNS You know, Carl.... upon further reflection... Your daughter is now an adult. It is now 2011. How many medical professionals know anything about ASL? A sobering thought, isn't it?
@CNS2CNS Yes, It looks like that is a common experience... and likely one that continues to this day. You should check out Patti Durr's blog comments where Deaf mothers experienced worse... such as having their babies sedated (with drug) before having ABR done on them. (It's in Part 3 of the series, by the way.)
Great vlog! Yes I definitely agree with you about medical specialists' view on "Deaf" as the problem! They have been trained by medical institutions. Negative view on Deaf babies will take negative affect on Deaf babies. That has to be stopped. Keep up with your good work!
Very good vlog.. We should keep up making others look good instead of looking bad! Quality positive vlogs are better than quanity negative vlogs! Keep this up! We need more people inspired to fight together than end up fighting our own and get no where!
@Bunjer Agreed. It is best to work together toward a common cause rather than focus on infighting. There is definitely much pain in the Deaf community as a result of the 130 years of historical suppression of our language and culture. Thanks for stopping by here.

@deafchipmunk Thanks. The medical profession needs educating re: the cultural/linguistic viewpoint.
