I have those half asleep half awake nightmares too even though I never experienced any robberies or anything like that.

It's called sleep paralysis and it's actually quite common, there have even been studies about it. It's also quite a popular subject for painters (just take a look at it on google images).

I have a Robbery story as well. When I was 4, during one night the whole house was dark save the old 90s TV my parents were watching. I went into my room to get some Thomas train toys. In the process I looked at my window and there was a dark face. I yelled and my dad ran out and got the bastard. It turned out he had got into my parents room and stole my mom's jewelry. He was in the process of leaving our backyard. Now I own a Remington 800 and Ruger 329PD - HIVIZ.

Something similar happened to me when i was younger around 14 yrs old i went to my cousins house and spent the night they didnt live in the brightest neighborhood and they were gun shots just as i was falling to sleep and i had terrible nightmares about some guy holding a gun to my head and killing me i had these nightmares until i was 16 how i overcame it i do not know and even now i can still here those gunshots
