  • five positions - wow.

  • but geez, that x400 probably cost more than that 1911 it's attached to. nice toy to have when there's an excess of cash.

  • Is the Laser also in daylight visible.... i mean if i go out - sun is shining... can i see the laser in a distance of 25 yards.... i have a green laser witch is visible fantasticly - i have never seen a red laser that can do this :(

  • Green is easier for our eyes to see, so you are correct

I am told the reason weapon lights aren't green yet has to do with the power required to power a green laser, the greater heat put off by the green laser and the size of the green lasers

This might just be talk, but most manufacturers I've talked to use these reasons why they are still all red

  • one other thing to consider, particularly at night, is that a green laser's beam is visible to everybody from the point of transmission to the target and everywhere in between which will allow both good and bad guys to track exactly where the beam is coming from. a red laser's beam is visible at the target and to some degree at the point of transmission but is otherwise not visible (unless there is particulate matter like smoke, fog, dust in the line of sight).

  • While the green beam is easier to see from the side, it is not clearly visible under 5mW unless there is smoke or something in the air.

The potential for a laser being a target indicator is offset by the advantage it gives the shooter IMO

This Surefire x400 will be one of the best lasers because it works with a DG switch, so the shooter can easily tap the laser on & off with the shooting hand

  • there is actually an advertising in the latest guns and ammo mag for a green laser light

  • if you go to the surefire website they have a video section which shows using the laser in the daylight and yes you can see it

  • Yep, and they claim is twice as powerfull as any competitors lazer. I watched all 3 of those vids just last night. I convinced myself I need them for my pair ofPARA ORDNANCE P-14 45 limited editions, expecially after seeing the long range night shots they did, which is more than likely when most people will find they have to shoot an intruder or robber, etc. Damn you sure fire, over $1,400 for 2 of thse with everything I need. Remote trigger switch is 89 and mounting bracket is about another 200

  • LOL, I know exactly what you mean

  • I really like this one too

I really like the two areas for 'all off' most other lights require you to click through all the options to turn it off each time

  • Best Weapon light ever!
