Yes most of the issues I first reported have been fixed via firmware updates. I wasn't a fan of this kit at its launch. But that was over two years ago. Parrot have done a great job over the past few years and I must admit their updating is simple, and results have been very good. This is a very popular kit in recent times, and I've lots of good feedback from my customers. When it comes to handsfree and music intergration I think the Parrot mki devices are the best on the market.
i have a MK6100 and have been looking to upgrade to a 9100, i'm assuming the displays are the same and all i would have to switch out is the amp reciever unit? would be nice to just be able to purchase that somewhere
Do you know how big usb drives it can handle? Does it got a maximum capability of 2-4 gb like some other systems? I had plans on fitting this kit together with a 120 gb 2.5" external usb drive in my car to have my music collection with me wherever I go. Is this possible? Does the MKi 9200 support bigger drives?
Good question.... The MKi9100 ans 200 kits support USB memory sticks upto 32 GB. But if you think of a scale. a 2gb will be fast. and the 32gb very slow. i havent tested this kit with anything larger than a 32gb. a 2.5inch 120 drive may work but it would be so slow to access any info from it... you'd find you would arrive at your destination and then it would start playing....
Okey, thanks a lot for your information. But I assume the ipod interface works a lot faster? And by the way, I just want to ask one more thing. If I got this right, the Parrot kit overrides the headunit and works as a stand alone unit without the need for having the headunit turned on? If thats the case, how big amplifier does it got built in and is it enough to get the same "juice" as in my original headunit?
The Ipod works much better... i've used 120gb Ipods and it plays a treat. also Iphone works very good. Yea your right in the way the Parrot kit over rides the radio, and a result it uses its own amplifier to play music. Its very good too. the Mki range have plenty of guts. paper work says 30 watts per channel. so thats 120 watts over all. Trust me its loud enough. I preffer the Mki9200 because it has more audio settings. and album art on the MKi9200 off the Ipod is fantastic...
im not sure what you mean by an internal adapter ? If your looking for USB, Bluetooth streaming from the phone, Ipod, 3.5mm aux and a great handsfree kit the mki9100 or mki9200 cant be beat.
I wouldn't say that, As times going on Parrot have put loads of money and time into future updates, software etc, all this can be done direct from their web site,
For the price its bloody good value, because not only handsfree but music too. I'd mabe spend another 20-30 quid and get the mki9200, its very nice, ive got demo's to upload when i get five,
Hi, tested the MK6100 and that kit works well(video on our you tube). The problems I have pointed out are mainly because this MKi9100 can connect so many ways to many devices, Yes it can do it all but can be very confusing. phone book could be a real problem, and pairing when using other elements of the kit is bad too.
Thanks for the upload. Has many of the issues you experienced been resolved with the firmware updates?
