I use to have a relaxer and my hair had lots of breakage. There were times it would break 2-3 inches within a month. I was so tired of it I literally did not brush or sometimes comb my hair. Even when I ran my fingers through it (not in a rough manner) strands easily broke. During that time, I did not know how to manage it. I was trying to grow out my hair for 'Locs Of Love.' Now, I have all natural hair. I need to show my sister this video. She has relaxed hair and this video will help a lot.
@angelchic10189 well my hair never broke off like that but i had extremly dry hair its a hair care line called OLIVE OIL on the bottle it says africas best it really helped my hair hopefully it will help your : )
@pookie1991able Aww, thank you. :-) I am glad you found something that helps. I used Africas Best Olive Oil years ago. I stopped because I have a lot of danduff which appears every week. It made my danduff bigger and my scalp itched constantly until I found Wen Tea Tree Oil a few months ago. It soothes my scalp and I noticed I have less danduff. I also use Slice of Nature's 100% Pure Argan Oil. My hair has been growing faster and I have less breakage.
I'm giving up on my hair journey after 3 months.I have trouble styling my hair, and my hairline is damaged so any style especialy ponytail sucks.going back to weaves until my hairline gets restored.
iam hispanic and i relax my hair but it dosent straighten my hair my hair is still extremly curly and thick the relaxer just loosen the curls slightly and i want to color my hair but iam afraid to do it because i dont want to damage my hair is there a way to way to make hair lighter without killing it with bleach?

@liveontheclassics no, not unless u leave the iron in ur hair f 4 a long time.. then that will cause breakage, and creases in ur air making it look like crap
okay ill straighten my hair before i go to school and it will be pin straight and not frizzy at all but when i leave my hair gets all frizzy and kinda curls
@luvenbabyblue LOL maybe something's not right w/ ur straightener? idk wat u hav but did u buy a cheap ones at walgreens? cuz those kinda suk.... xP
hmm...i would try maybe turning up the degrees higher so that'll make it stay longer or something...and REMEMBER heat protectant!! (nd wait for it to dry like 30 sec b4 straightening, depends how much u spray on) and um...
@luvenbabyblue My hair use to do the same thing. Even when I used Moroccan Oil Hair products it frizzed badly. I switched to a better flat iron and now my hair stay straight longer. I use the Karmin Titanium Professional Hairstyling Iron. It is really good. By far the best flat iron I ever used.
my hair is like that (maybe an inch shorter), but its hard to get my newgrowth hair straightened at the roots. other than that i usually have no problem straightning my hair.
this sounds like a strange question but how many time do you spray heat defence on you hair? because mine gets greasy if i use too much and dry if i use too little is there a happy middle?
My hair is relaxed. But I'm also a dancer, and I dance daily at my studio so it gets really sweaty an its hard to maintain it nice and smooth. How can I take care of my relaxed hair once it gets sweaty?
@GildedButterflys I would recommend co-washing daily. Meaning instead of using shampoo every time you wash your hair you wash your hair daily, or every other day, with conditioner and once a week or every 2 weeks you could use shampoo. Co-washing really keeps your hair moisturized and it really cleans the hair w/o stripping it of its natural oils. I would also add a deep conditioner once a week.
@GildedButterflys Go to LSVHAIRCARE dot C.O.M. and get a sample of their MERCY -BEST PRODUCT EVER!!! Moisture Repair & Curl Enhancer at LSVHAIRCARE dot C.O.M. which is 8 oils and makes your hair resistant to sweat. I have fine hair and work out daily which gets sweaty and this helps. Also, your clurls can last up to 3 days.
wen i straighten my hair it comes out straight but it is still a lil poofy at the top n near the crown do u hav ne tips to help me get REALLY straight hair?
(I know I'm not her but...) It maybe because of the type of straightener your using...from my experience not all straighteners work as well as others especially when it comes to the crown of my head. If you have a good one then disregard this message lol
From what I was told you "have to always always use hair heat protector when your straightening your hair" cause heat, as you probably know, causes damage to your hair enough in itself so we have to always apply something to protect it. One heat protector I know of and use is Fantasia IC heat protector straightening serum

good advice for pressing out relaxed hair. I would have never known to set the flat iron @ 350 degrees on relaxed hair and 450 on natural hair.
