Wow! Did you really recorded this video on Very High settings? Dammit, I have the following specs:

AMD Phenom-II 545 3.0GHz x2,

2048MB mem,

9800GT 1GB,

WinXP SP3,

DX 9.0c,

and I can only play it on medium graphics in the resolution 1600x1200, only the physics, shading, textures and shadows are on high values. On these settings I have an average of 30-45 FPS ingame, which is near the deadline between "playable" and "unplayable" I think. I have the patch 1.05. Did I do something wrong, any ideas?

Unusual. Well this video has everything set to Very High, maybe that's it? Windows 7 has some optimization improvements, so give that a try, and 64-bit version of it. My only other suggestion would be to hunt around for optimization graphic mods. Best of luck.

because, hes running it on very high ( not ultra high ) and ultra high is ment for DX10 users. you most likeley have a windows vista, which pretty much sucks at games. He is playing ofcourse with a windows XP ( just guessing ) and here we can see the difference

Its when your GPU isn't used properly by your CPU. Which means that you could produce more from your GPU if your CPU were better. Overclocking can solve this problem, otherwise you have a lame Intel motherboard like me. I was totally impressed that my GPU fitted in the board.

Over heating most likely? Very graphic demanding games make a GPU work extremely hard to keep up with it, your 8800 GT is a older GPU, so I think it's just overheating most likely.

Mine idles at 52. But 62 is safe I think. Maybe make sure your case isn't blocked in with good air flow and don't overclock it.

You can download a program called RivaTuner that will let you overclock your graphics card.

It will cause more heat and perhaps shorten the lifespan of the card but nothing really bad.

If it's just for Far Cry 2 I have all mine on stock(nothing overclocked) and it runs great.

Overclocking your graphics card should increase your FPS slightly.

Google overclocking to get a list of graphs and charts for each graphic card.

AVG framerate of HD4850 or 8800 GTX(which are better) is 40 - so there must be some lower fps.

With your Graphic Card you can get about 35 avg -on DX10.

Hey y'all, i've really been debating whether or not to buy this game and i've heard some really mixed thoughts about it. My overall impression from reviews and from my friends is that it has major bugs and is really repetitive, so i don't want to blow 50 bucks on a "bad" game.
