  • I carried mail for 25 years and for the most part I didn't look I wore new uniforms to work like the woman in the video. This videos are always shot on clear bright sunshiny days walking into a nice clean business. Try showing some the sloppily dressed carriers I see today, while they carry in some depressed crime ridden area.

  • The Gaslight Anthem ftw!! :D

  • wohoo! Go gaslight :D but dont get too famous. because then, I cant stand so close to brian ;)

  • 0:30

The Gaslight Anthem - Casanova, Baby!

    Check it out.

  • Because no mail has ever been lost by or stolen from the US Postal Service. Seriously though, they don't get any tax dollars. The only reason they're having problems is because the Postal Workers Union and Congress won't let them close up branches, reduce delivery schedules, and lay off excessive employees. They are required by Federal Law to deliver mail six days a week, even though they generally only have enough mail volume for three days to be necessary.

  • @CL0N3PA7R0L Understand that small businesses use the mail, and having them wait four days out of seven to transact business, or get paid, is a lousy idea. As I explained on the video post, our own Republican congresspeople, dependent on rural conservatives, stopped closing distribution centers because they whined those voters had to wait 1 day.

  • @jpeter4333 If they reduced the days they deliver First Class mail, it would most likely be delivered Monday, Wednesday, Friday as this would cause the least amount of problems. They'd probably still be delivering premium mail services (like Next Day) on other days since that mail is actually profitable and they must remain competitive with companies like UPS and FedEx. If you want to keep the same options available as now they need tax money, otherwise they need to be able to self regulate.

  • gaslight on the second commercial!!!!!!

  • @achzdck: Sorry to break it to you, but the U.S. Postal Service is not funded, subsidized, or supported by our TAX DOLLARS. Please do your homework before you start bashing.

  • Hey guys, if we don't start using mail again. Trees will gain sentience and overthrow humanity.

  • loser, government run loser

  • lololollol the USPS is pathetic, let it suffer and die off

  • @mrhockey50 fuck you bro thats not cool

  • The USPS subsidizes junk mail and even UPS uses them once the package gets in a local market because its cheaper. If you don't understand free markets, you probably don't vote for Ron Paul, and you are probably the reason everything is failing.

  • It kind of sucks to see the usps going out of business, now we will have no choice but to use filthy privatized services to ship anything.

  • USPS: I don't wanna die!

  • Yes now you can get spam mail delivered personally by an asshole face to face.

  • enjoy your antrax and bombs

  • @animes25 antrax lol u sound like a fucking indian or something lololol

  • I give the US POSTAL SERVICE my highest rating.

    - Ted Kazinsky

  • Corporate fascism going after more good jobs with benefits as usual. Endless corporate fascist propaganda media machine running 24/7, blaming all the horror endlss fake reasoned wars that bankrupted the country along with tax breaks for the rich elites while blaming unions, teachers, firefighters, cops, utility workers, auto workers makeing 60k a year taking thier kids to the dentist and eye doctor, yeah thats what bankrupted the usa, not the corporate fascits elites no no they are the goodones

  • the only thing keeping the PO rolling is the spam the grocery stores bulk mail your asses. how about we save some trees, cut these slacker jobs down to 3 days a week, cut lifetime entitlement funding.

  • I've never had google drop my email on the ground, break up all the contents, and deliver it to the wrong person two weeks late.

  • Ah, but how many people would rather work for Gmail than a government bureaucracy?

    Propaganda at its finest.

  • I like how we're supposed to care about big companies when there in trouble, but when they doing good they couldn't give two shits about us. I got an idea Postal Service, increase the price on stamps, yeah that will fix your problems....on sec let me finish this Email.

  • 1 mail = 50+ trees cut down

1 email = 1 tree cut down for power.

  • @iToasterman what is 1 mail? lmaoooooo do mean like 1 letter? 1 envelope? wtf is 1 mail lmaoooo

  • @alex4011 ... yes your the oly one who cant understad that

  • Many people don't have internet and can't get mail. Anyone here thought of that hm?

  • It takes 1 second to get an email not 5 days to get a piece of paper

  • How about all the trees cut down and all the pollution that the mail trucks create? Fuck mail, my computer uses less power than a light bulb. Does the USPS use less power than a light bulb? I think not.

  • The mail man forgot to flip up the little red flag, my inbox never forgets.

  • As Wheatley recently demonstrated at DEF CON, your refrigerator CAN in fact be hacked. BreakYourWIndow.exe.

  • The 2006 Law, The Postal Enhancement Act... is the reason the postal service is even running in the red. The Law says every year up front the USPS has to put 6 billion into retirement funds, that do not need that much money every year.

FedEx and UPS are a for profit service, and the USPS are not. The U.S. Postal Service sends packages and mail cheaper then the for profit Federal Express.

The word Federal in FedEx is deceiving, just like the FED and how it is a private corp.

  • this is so embarrassing.

hopefully this is their last attempt before killing themselves

  • It is time to end the U.S.postal monopoly and privatize the U.S. postal service.

  • Why is a failing government entity spending money on advertising to promote their image? No wonder they are running a a loss for so long.

  • The only good thing with postal systems is that they deliver items that could never be e-mailed, like clothes bought online. But just wait until we get e-teleportation, that's gonna bring down the postal systems completely.

  • Depressing and pathetic

  • Stupid commercial.

  • Let's stop cutting trees down. Time to accept that our prior need for the USPS has changed and we need to alter the way run the program.

  • i wont get killed by a bomb mail with email.

  • email doesn't kill trees :)

  • @demonwx10

"Kill" is an exaggerated word, trees aren't alive as humans. But yes, e-mail does not contribute to deforestation. ;)

  • Email never cost me money

  • A email has never given me anthrax

  • Mail is dangerous and risky because people you don't know handle your letter and might have diseases and infect the person you send the letter to!

I say bring back the carrier pidgeon!

  • Notice how on both commercials..... the mail men were black...... what the hell kind of message are they trying to send? I guess we'll find out in 8 - 10 business days.

  • @b34tls4ever brilliant.

  • Email is delivered in seconds VS days.

Email costs $0 to send, regardless of the message size

Email can send video, sound, pictures (no need to print or burn them in order to send)

Email can be sent to multiple recepients at once

Email is goof for environment (no paper)

Email can be received anywhere (no need to be home)

    Email doesn't clutter my table

Email is more personal (since only the recepient can get it, not any tenant at the address)...

    Should i go on?

  • I hope that everyone who created these ads dies of testicular cancer. The USPS is clearly evil and must be destroyed.

  • The post office delivers all of the things I order off on amazon. I also like to send letters occasionally- why so many anti-mail comments?

  • EIGHTH

  • pretty sad...

  • Comment removed

  • Well, I won't get anthrax from my email...

  • 1) Not only can you get viruses in your physical mail, but also bacteria (ok ok, I'm not super serious here, but it could happen, and then you could only wish that it was a computer virus instead), and (2) I'm pretty sure it's very rare that you interact with your mailman, and even rarer that the interactions are as nice and friendly as the one in the ad.

  • what is this *mail* that they keep mentioning? Is it like e-mail?

  • How is someone going to get a virus from a business related email?

This advertising is clearly aimed at computer illiterate people who are afraid of the internet. These types of people are likely the few people still using mail to actually communicate. Who do they think they're going to "convert" with this?

  • Those are pretty sad commercials.
